Hey everyone,
I've been pretty busy over the last 6 weeks or so, had 4 final year uni exams and spent a lot of time revising for them! I also got the marks back from my dissertation and got a first! So very happy with that!
Been trying to write new songs, been looking at Nick Drake and Loren Francis' amazing ability to write lyrics and just felt I was falling short, so hopefully my next song should have some really good lyrics!
My girlfriends also asked me to re-record Butterfly, so that should be up in a few weeks!
Also the websites coming along nicely, most of the content is finished, and hopefully once it all comes together it will be up and running!
Hope everythings going well for all of you!
Myke
PS: About the below, I know a lot of you Donnie fans hate it, but I love Donnie, and I also think this film is great. I really feel theres room to make a third film after this. The Rabbit mask was so much cooler in this one too!

Hey all!
Today I had an exam and it wasnt amazing, nor too bad, just came out a bit blah, so I decided to treat myself, and walked into town and bought two items.
Firstly was "The Fountain" on blu ray, I love that film and I've always wanted to see it hi-def and looking beautiful, and finally got the chance today and its amazing. The scenes that take place in space are all filmed using chemical reactions filmed microscopically in a petri-dish and it is so beautiful, and even those who dont get the idea of the film (because it is pretty confusing) you cant deny its beautiful!
Secondly I treated myself to Graham Coxons brand new album "The Spinning Top". And I am so glad I did. It is very very good. I luckily met Graham Coxon once in 2007 when I was shortlisted for a competition and he talked to me about his desire to make an acoustic based album, and here it is, in all its glory. Recently I read an interview with him in the sun and he said it was inspired by a few people, but the first name on the liste was Nick Drake. Following my previous blog, I felt really happy about that!
Graham Coxon has put all the songs up on his myspace, but I say if you like it, go and buy the album, its really good and its nice to see someone in a fairly big position producing the kind of music that I wish more people made. For those of you who dont know, Graham was the guitarist of the band Blur who were MASSIVE in the 90's in England.
I recommend "Feel Alright" first! Its an amazing song! Then any of "Look into the light" "If you want me" "Dead Bees" or "Sorrow's Army"
Nice to see some proper music back out there!
Bye Bye!

Hey all!
My lovely amazing girlfriend has started designing a website for me and frankly the "early" examples of what it looks like are so good! Its really up my street and the design is amazing! We are now working together to get it up and running and looking good! Hopefully it will be up by the end of the month, (ill give another blog post then), but I'm so happy with it at the moment!
She's a very talented web designer that maybe lacks a little faith in her own abilities, I thought I'd show you another of her new websites (less than a month old). Some of you have already been, but it is a Quotation site, where you can find quotes that you like! Its still being added to all the time, so check back a lot, and you'll find a lot of quotes that I've put up there under the miscellaneous section! Feel free to add your own, we love getting more!
www.omgquotes.com
Please remember that this site is designed for a certain target audience, and is designed in such a way, my site will be designed for my target audience (you guys I'd imagine!) and will be VERY different!
It's all very exciting! Can't wait for it to all be finished!
In other news, I'm doing my exams for Uni right now, so not been having a good chance to write anything, got to focus on the important "NOW" parts of my life while they are here. Stochastic Calculus, Management Accounting and Financial Policy here I come! (Yes, I'm doing a business degree lol)
Hope you are all well and this finds you in as happy a mood as I am! How long that lasts who knows, but enjoy it while its here!
Good Morning Everyone!

Hey everyone,
Since putting Enigma up on here I've had a number of messages commenting on my voice, saying that they love it, like it or think its good. This goes against all previous comments from the previous two years where people have bluntly stated "get someone else to sing your songs... NOW!"
I think my voice is by far the weakest part of my music and its something that I see as the bit that ruins most if not all of my songs (with the except of Faith which is an instrumental!)
Now I'm a cynical guy and I think this is just a cop out, they say "oh I like you voice" to say anything nice about it at all, just because there is nothing exactly good about it (which makes logical sense to me anyway) but obviously a big part of me wants the comments to be honest, but who knows?
I know that in 2 years my voice has improved dramatically, and those who were there at the humble beginnings will remember how bad it was (and I am so very sorry!!!), but it has come a LONG way, and I think there is a long way to go, Enigma is the highest song I've ever written, with my capo all the way up to 3! Crickey! ;) And there is 7 months of work between I Could Be Dead (my previous latest song) and Enigma, that kinda just gets lost when you see them on here. Its really a long road, but I think in a few years I might be good enough, might be!
I just heard Sleeping by Glen Hansard for the first time today and it hit a nerve in me, and I instantly went and learnt to play it. Its a lovely song, its just such a shame a song like that will never be heard by 90% of the population unless its on tv (which Sleeping is I believe) and then they will forget about it. And then you look at the charts and wonder.
Just out of curiosity, I'm 20 years old, and my perception of popular music can only really go back 10 years (before that I was bias towards what WAS popular so how can I be sure of my opinion that it was different), so my question is, has it always been this way, with the music in the charts being so... well dire? And music like Glens being swept aside and potentially forgotten. Makes me think about Nick Drake, such a talented, creative and artistic guy, but it took too long. Nick Drake is someone who deserved and still deserves a lot more credit for the works he made. People credit Slash as the best guitarist ever, but these people have never even heard of Drake, let alone heard what he could do with 6 strings, 8 fingers and 2 thumbs.
I intended these blogs to be humerous and this ones hit as sad as it can get really. I met a girl who played the blues and I asked her for some happy news, but she just smiled and turned away.
Goodnight all.

Current mood: amused
Hey everybody!
I've decided I'm going to start blogging on here and see what it becomes, there's always the delete button if it all goes pear shaped. Anyone know why we say that?
I've just uploaded the new song Enigma, which im quite proud of, however sinful that apparently is. I feel it shows a step in the right direction, and some development of my skills. And my lovely friends have told me similar sugar coated lies about it! ;) Love you guys!
I got asked about why I dont charge for my music today (and if you're reading this you know who you are! Lil!) and I said I felt like I'd be cheating people if they paid me. I dont feel like I'm good enough to be paid for what I do, and I can't imagine many of you would even ever consider paying me for what I record in my bedroom on a microphone that is tied to a 2ltr cola bottle! I feel like I'd be ripping you off, I dont feel like an artist, I feel like a child learning how to be one. Maybe in 10 years I'll think differently (lets hope I will) but for now I dont deserve money for this. And to those of you who WOULD pay, you're the special ones that I'd give this all to for free.
Its a catch 22 (and I should really get round to reading that! Its been on my shelf for a year now... ah after Illuminatus!'s lovely sequels and prequels), the people who WOULD pay SHOULDN'T have to! Its just making the ones that wont pay cough up! Heh! Maybe not the best phrase to be quoted on!
Also I hit 100,000 plays today! That is an amazing total, and something I never expected, having only been doing this (properly) since August last year! In the first two years of having myspace I managed 1000 plays, in the last 9 months I've had 99000! So big change and very happy!
I hope that once I finish my Uni exams, I'll have a bit more time to relax and write some nice songs, I've got a lot of ideas and a lot things I want to try!
Wishing you all a good weekend, or whatever day it is whenever you read this (assuming linear time prevails - always hope it doesnt). So all in all, have a happy "two days before the day after tomorrow"! For people that consider that to be a puzzle, answers on the back of a postcard and mail them to Gordon Brown with the heading "When should you start making this country run properly"!
Goodnight all!
