Highly Radioactive !

Hi Guys, what I don't understand is why myspace haven't set up an account for their artists and a digital player with download facility with a variable price setting so that artists can set the price of their tunes, which streams music at 44kbps but downloads each purchase at 320kbps +++++. This would be the ultimate shopping facility as friends/fans are already part of the artists profile, so if they wanted to purchase a song they could do so without having to set up an account with other distributers. Wouldn't this project myspace into becoming the biggest and best download online shop for music, film, they could even do art as well. Zapp Royce

Highly Radioactive.. Congratulations Lily on a very eloquent article, there is not really much to add except to give you a little insight to my music journey, basically I have been making music for over 20 years, and spent over ten thousand pounds on equipment. Mainly as a hobbie but that is only because it is so dam hard to make a proper living out of making music ( as most musicians will know ) when mp3's evolved and sites like Myspace, itunes - appeared, soundclick etc, I was quite excited as there was now a platform for unsigned artists to air their music and develope a fan base, friend base whatever you want to call it, but like Lilly says things are getting worse not better, and what I find really strange is that the radio station's especially the  BBCRadio stations which aren't even governed by market forces  are still playing the same old rubbish over and over when they could be playing some really great new music which is readily available by going online and doing a quick search. More importantly if you buy an independent artist's music from a site like, well it could be itunes, stereofame, soundclick, 7digital or where ever, there are sites springing up every day, most of the money goes to the artist and not to a bunch of creeps who spend huge  amounts of the artists money promoting and recording the act's which they have signed. So please give a thought to us minnows out here struggling to feed ourselves, oh yeah in 2007 I got Non Hodgkins Lymphoma which is cancer of the Lymphatic System I'm still alive but I'll never be the same again, so maybe instead of donating to a cancer charity where most of the money goes on administration why not just buy one of my songs for 79p or whatever they sell for.
Thank you
