Current mood:  excited
I need to keep my daily profile visits & plays up.

I'm roughly 15,000 views away from the 100,000 mark! I would love to accomplish this by 01/01/10 which is just 2 1/2 years since I started this page!

How can you help?
1. Visit my profile @ www.myspace.com/peeweemoore every day, or make it your start up page when you open your browser. I keep my status updated very regular so check back often to see what's going on.

2. Post my songs on your profile to generate plays, and attention.

3. Post a bulletin, or several a day telling friends to visit my page, and add me as a friend. Add one of my videos from my profile to it to add convinience.

4. Send out a message to all of your friends who might like what I'm doing, or live in one of my tour stop regions.

5. Tell everyone you talk to whenever music comes up about me. Word of mouth is the best promotion available.

Thanks friends for the continued support, I couldn't be here without you!

As always please copy paste, and re post this.

Happy Hollidays.

I hope to see you down the road!

Howdy internetland!

Got a new show up you guys can go listen to, and download for free at http://www.archive.org/details/peeweemoore2009-09-14.matrix.flac

I had some of the best musicians Austin has to offer backing me up. Many many thanks go out to Lew Card and his magic mandolin, Cornbread for laying it down on the acoustic guitfiddle, and Pete The Beat for you know what.

Many thanks go out to Aaron Wevodau for taking the time, and energy to come out, and set everything up to record good music in and around Austin TX, and for archiving it for future generations.

Go check it out, and be sure to burn a copy for all your friends that might like it, and your local favorite place to see a show.

Let me know what you think!

Not Dreadfully Awful Music

Peewee Moore & The Awful Dreadful Snakes Return to Boone Saloon Saturday

Chattanooga honky tonk trio Peewee Moore & The Awful Dreadful Snakes will return to Boone Saloon this Saturday, June 27.
Take a cursory glance at the song titles listed on Peewee Moore & The Awful Dreadful Snakes’ MySpace site and before you’ve heard a single note, you can tell you’re about to hear something Southern and raw. Titles like “The Leaving Side Of Gone,” “Whiskey Fuels The Flame,” “Truck Driving Song” and “Ain’t Got Nothin’” read like songs from a country star’s greatest hits. And that’s fine with Moore.

This Saturday, June 27, Moore & The Awful Dreadful Snakes will return to Boone Saloon. The show will start at 10:30 p.m.

Born and raised just outside Chattanooga, Tenn. in northern Georgia, Moore has the sounds of Cash, Willie and Waylon and the boys in his blood.

“I come from a musical family and grew up with the whole outlaw country and some of the rockabilly stuff,” said Moore. “My mom, brother and grandfather played music and had bands. I guess it kind of got stuck in my head.”

Moore cut his teeth on the road for six years with his former band the Tennessee Rounders. The sextet made a couple of records and played hundreds of live shows, allowing Moore to learn the tools of the trade before calling it quits.

“[The Tennessee Rounders] pretty much toured regionally,” Moore said of the band. “We sold 10,000 copies of two records. I think some of the guys got tired of traveling around and got ready to settle down. It happens in this business.”

Instead of following his bandmates to perhaps calmer pastures, Moore decided to slim down to a trio and do what he does best: play rocking country music. Moore recruited a rhythm section and formed the Awful Dreadful Snakes in October 2007. Named for a favorite Appalachian ballad, Moore and company cut a new CD full of his rough hewn, twang-filled trucker tales of heartache, highways and honky tonks.

“It’s a lot easier to deal with, but the sound…we’ve got a certain way to make gel together that makes it sound just right,” said Moore.

Thanks to a seemingly never-ending string of one-nighters, Moore and The Awful Dreadful Snakes’ big-hearted country music has been catching on with fans from Tennessee to Texas and beyond.

“We’re just trying to stay busy, get as many shows as we can and get in front of as many people as we can,” Moore said. “This year’s the hardest we’ve done so far. Everything’s going pretty great. I couldn’t ask for anything better. The word’s traveling pretty quick and I’m pretty happy about it.”

Although a number of musicians have already filed through the ranks of the band, Moore has soldiered on, continuing to play with whoever will join him on the road.

“It’s hard to find musicians that want to work that hard,” said Moore. “Especially drummers.”

Working hard is just what Moore and company do on stage. While their recordings suggest a laid back stone country outfit, Moore insists the band’s live energy is far above and beyond what comes across on their recorded output.

“The live show is just a ton more energy than the record. We try to keep everybody jumping around a lot,” Moore said.

Nevertheless, Moore and the boys are still cranking out new songs and will release a new record on July 8 and are contemplating a live release by summer’s end.

Hillbilly band to raise a ruckus this Saturday
Peewee Moore and the Awful Dreadful Snakes come to Boone Saloon

By Jeff Eason

Peewee Moore and the Awful Dreadful Snakes come to Boone from Chattanooga this weekend to help spread the hillbilly honky-tonk gospel.

Nashville and Memphis might get the lion’s share of the musical credit, but some of the smaller Tennessee cities are doing their part to keep country and blues music alive.

Chattanooga, Knoxville and Johnson City are all cities with considerable musical histories that are being kept alive by the latest generation of guitar slingers.

One of Chattanooga’s hottest new acts, Peewee Moore and the Awful Dreadful Snakes will make its High Country debut this weekend when the band performs at the Boone Saloon on Saturday, January 10. The show starts at 10 p.m. and admission is $5 per person.

The Awful Dreadful Snakes bills itself as “hillbilly honky-tonkers” and the band’s debut album, The Leavin’ Side of Gone, is filled with great original songs that sound as if they could’ve been recorded by Hank Williams.

The band features Peewee Moore on guitar, vocals and harmonica, Bryan “Crunk Bones” Jones on bass and vocals, and “Mad Dog” Matt Calhoun on drums.

Moore was previously a member of the Tennessee Rounders, then the backup singer and lead guitarist for songwriter Roger Alan Wade before striking out on his own two years ago. In 2007 he joined forces with Jones and Calhoun and formed the Awful Dreadful Snakes in Chattanooga.

With songs like “Running Moonshine” and “Nickajack Dam” the band weaves unforgettable stories with rockabilly rhythms and strong, personable melodies. Fans of the Raleigh band The Backsliders will find lots to love with Peewee Moore and the Awful Dreadful Snakes.

For more information on Saturday’s show, call the Boone Saloon at (828) 264-1811.

Bryan "Crunk Bones" Jones Bass/Shouts for Peewee Moore & The Awful Dreadful Snakes.

The smell of BBQ, beer, and good times was in the air in Waverly Saturday night. Peewee Moore and the Awful Dreadful Snakes closed out the day of culture with their original blend of country, bluegrass and rockabilly. This trio took the stage next to Standard Deluxe and kept the crowd entertained for well of over two hours.

The band consists of Peewee Moore, Vocals/Guitar/Harmonica; Bryan "Crunk Bones" Jones Bass/Shouts; and Mad Dog Matt Callahan, Drums/Shouts. Fans enjoyed their food while Peewee Moore and the Awful Dreadful Snakes played original songs such as, "A Claim Worth Stakin," "Truck Drivin Song," and "No Place Left to Fall."  It only took several songs to get the crowd on their feet.

Soon fans were dancing, singing, and hooting & hollerin in time to the music. The band is constantly on the road and can be seen nightly and their album, "The Leaving Side of Gone" will be released soon.

If you missed out on the fun last night, and can't wait until the next time they are in town, check out their music at
