It looks like we're playing a show, dudes. Bloomington, Saturday Febroo-ary 9th at some house. Whose house? How much? What time? Well, it's not for a month. And I don't believe for a second that I know anyone who makes plans a month in advance. There will be reminders with details soon. We never even mapped out our tours until day-of. This is just a teaser. Like, imagine this as T-rex's foot coming down on a muddy walkie-talkie - spitting out the final cry of a nightwatchman at Jurassic Park before a raptor's static-y shriek. Then the screen goes black and says "Coming Next Summer." Except instead of a T-rex foot, it's Matte's sweaty ass on Lexie's drum stool. And instead of a raptor shrieking, it's Chris and Daun through super hot mics. And instead of a helpless nightwatchmen, it's Greg having diarhea before the show.

Plan-it-X fest is about a week or so away and we're leaving for a tour of the west side USA w/Madeline right after, on July 13th. i'll try and post the dates we have on this site. The PIX band family is coming into town and that's really exciting because we haven't seen everyone since last summer on the Bus Tour. We are mixing our new album for a tour version of it, and PIX will put it out this late summer/fall. It's a little different. I love it. We're playing on WFHB bloomington from 9-11pm on july 5th as part of a PIX radio show to open the fest week. it's going to be acoustic. Also we'll have pretty much the entire Basement Pop catalog on tour with us! Obechoir, Etiquette, James F Beck (from Leg), Narcisissy, and more good albums. Greg just finished his solo project called Big Time which is the newest addition to Basement Pop. For now it's wildly crazy in our little garage, cranking out music and albums and getting excited about leaving for a month and a half to play every night in a different town!

Current mood: dirty
Chris at Plan-it-x is putting out an omni comp of PIX bands' new tunes. We finished ours last week and handed it to Chris several days before the deadline ushering in a new era of promptness for the band. Thank you Alex Kornya for the time and beer you gave us.
Also:
This past weekend (nov 11-12) all the 'keys plus Alex of Etiquette and Joe of Obechoir recorded my preschool friend Grant Fore. A couple years ago, Grant was in Polish Jesus Whistle with Chris Mott. Even a coupler years ago, Grant and I were in a high school metal band called Wemmic. Now, Grant writes unfathomably sophisticated songs based on faith, violence, sex, and fairy tales. Soon the songs will be on myspace and you should check them out. They are brief and unmistakable like a kiss on the lips or a cool glass of water (this is the blurb I've prepared).
Thanks,
Greg

hey dudes!! the door-keys are finaly back in working order for the winter. we went on a month long rock and roll tour with 36 of our friends on a damn school buss, then i ran off to a farm for nearly three months.but just this week after returning we have got to play 2 shows in bloomington and 1 in indianapolis, and all three shows fucking rocked.....in my opinion...any way just last night on our way home from indy we sorta shot the shit about how much fon it is to be in this band and the fact that all our homies all still come and rock out with us,,,it really means a lot to all four of us. i just wanted to mention that. there are millions of wonderfull things about living in bloomington and you all are one of them. shortly into our chat i blacked out and chris got us home safely. i think he was rockin neil young..........
its good to be home,,,,keep warm. -the Door-Keys
thanx -R.Q.H.-megan- punk rock josh-and the GREENWOOD crew.

we just finished a new album with a boombox on the cover. it's been sent to be reproduced many times over so that everyone can have a copy. we all love it so much and can't wait for everyone to rock out to it in the shower. it's on Plan-It-X Records like the last. we are getting ready in 2 weeks to leave for the crazy PIX school bus tour that may be coming to your area. some shows are listed here but that's not the half of it. for dates look at http://www.hellomermaid.com/pixfest/ . other bands playing are This Bike is a Pipe Bomb, Defiance:Ohio, Madeline, One Reason, and others. You should go. We promise to have new songs posted soon.
luv, the door-keys
