So, you may or may not have noticed, but, we are still recording. Yes, it has been five months. Yes, that is a bit long in this day in age. Yes, we are going nuts. Yes, we miss seeing all our new friends around the world. But the real question I keep getting is, is it good and will it be done soon??? You guessed it......YES AND YES!!!!

We are so happy with way it has been turning out. We are in the midst of vocals and have decided to take a much deserved break for the the holidays. We have had an amazing time working with Micheal Beinhorn. We have learned so much from him.  Jeff will be finishing his vocals during the first part of January. We have alredy been sorting out some shows for February so stay tuned for dates and locations.

One sad thing that has come out of this recording process is the departure of our good friend and keyboardist Reed Calhoun. Reed was a huge part of our bands live show and is truely one the most amazing and gifted people we have ever known. He has been one of my best friends for over ten years, so this has been really hard for me. He left on good terms to pursue own music and having played in his band before this one I can assure we will hear some great things form him in the near future. He is living in Austin and has fallen in love with it. So... Reed we love you!!!!

Hello all you wonderful people!!! It's been a bit since I have written and I am so happy to let you all in on what's up!!! So...after writing and demoing for the last six months we have written over fifty songs that we will cut down to make the new RKK full length LP. The material is fucking amazing and I can't wait for you guys to hear it. I won't try to explain it, but just know you'll  fall in love with it just as we have!!!

To help with this record we have enlisted Micheal Beinhorn to produce. He is a childhood hero of ours so this is a huge honor. He has worked with the likes of Marilyn Manson, Herbie Hancock, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soul Asylum, The Bronx, Mew, Violent Femmes, Ozzy Osbourne and Social Distortion. Needless to say he fuckin' kicks ass!!!!

Another new member of our family is our new guitarist, Sam Kearney. He has been playing with Fisherspooner for the last couple a years so we are so happy to have him!!! Be sure and say hi when you meet him. All in all this shaping up to be the best RKK ever!!! Stay tuned for in studio footage and keep spreading the word about this big RKK family!!!!-Shawn

So.....  we have been working very hard to write some new music for everyone to play with, but we kinda miss drinking for free!!! So, to remedy this problem we have booked a show at a party in Santa Barbara. This is my hometown so you know it will be amazing!!! It is a birthday celebration for some great people that are good friends of RKK!!!! The party is called BLACK ICE and it will be a night to remember. Well..... knowing our band no one will remember a fuckin' thing!!!! It is Friday, April 6th at the Wildcat Lounge  and it starts at 9pm. I would suggest getting there very early. The doors will be open long before nine and it will sellout. This is a small venue so I repeat......GET THERE EARLY!!!! Black attire would be nice, but if not it's ok. I hope to see evryone there. This is the last show we will play for a long while. That I can promise. Come, play, drink, dance, fuck, whatever you want!!!!!-Shawn RKK

So........ I have finally recovered from the two shows we did in SoCal!!! As you can see I am out of practice. HaHa!!! The Spaceland show was great. I did'nt shit myself which is always a plus at these RKK events and the crowd was amazing!! Tanks to everyone who was there. The show at The Detroit Bar was definetly the high point of my week. Literally!! I would say that I drank quite a bit. It was rad!!!! Our good friend Neil played guitar for us during our time of need so everyone should thank him for doing such an amazing job. I had this plan to like recap every detail of the shows but...... I was very drunk and to busy saying the following........."Yeah... we are writing some new music and hanging out... you know... It's great to be home and play something other than the record... what... oh sure...I'll take a shot with you!!!"   That might explain this lackluster attempt at a funny description. Oh well. Thanks again to everyone who came out. It was wonderful. We have a secret California show coming up the first week in April so keep your little ears peeled!!!-Shawn

So...... we attended our record companies after grammy party last night and I just thought I would share our night with fifty-thousand six hundred and ninety of my closest friends.

The night started great. I had a few glasses of wine at Mikes house and noticed that I had a very upset stomache and I only had one thought on my mind....."oh shit!"

We drove to downtown LA to a lovely little place and saw a lot of nicely dressed people who were trying their very hardest to look.."cool."

We walked down the red carpet and I felt like a fucking giant next to James Blunt, but was then put back in my place by his nine foot gorgeous girlfriend who is clearly with him for his personality. I got in the party and was so happy I had not shit myself. I saw a tray of Lemondrops and a buch of guys in suits so Reed and I stole a couple. MMMM!!!! 

I then proceeded to find the best outlet of free Champagne. Wonderful!!! I looked around for Scarlett Johanson and failed to see her. After about ten glasses of Champagne I was having a great time. I saw the guy from Static X with the huge hair and he turned out to be quite a fellow. Then out of the blue it hit me. I had to find a mens room. I stood in line with some very pretty women who  started talking to me and I think I impressed them with my charm by saying... "wow...I think I'm gonna shit my pants." Ah profound!!! Turns out the girl was John from the Chili Peppers girlfriend. GREAT!! Then finally I found relief!!!

As I walked back inside to find my publicist to see if he had seen Scarlett... I bumped into a guy and gave him my best fuck you look and then realized it was P.Diddy!! 2 for 2!! Good job Shawn.

The night came to a close and the bar ran out of Champagne. I decided I was gonna call my girlfriend and tell her about my night. It was almost three AM. I, of coarse, did'nt realize that and she told me to go fuck myself. Nice.

All in all... I had an amazing evening!! Can't wait 'till next year when we hopefully will be beaten by the Dixie Chicks for every fucking award!!!-Shawn  

Hi everybody!!! We have decided to play two shows in Caifornia. They are gonna be a great chance for us to take a few days off of writing and see our friends. Wednesday February 21st at Spaceland we will play with Circus Minor for NME night. This show is FREE!!!!! So be there. The next day, Thursday the 22nd. We will be at the Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa for Futuresounds presnted by Tankfarm Clothing. This show is with the Shys, whom I love. Be there early, it's $6 at the door. First come, first serve.
