Hi all. We don't want this to get too drawn out, or too ridiculously dramatic, but the message contained here is actually very much on the heavy and serious side. It's something the four of us have discussed for the past few weeks and really thought through long and hard, and we've come up with the following special announcement: In a totally amicable and "leaving the future open for who knows what" fashion, MJ Project is basically taking a big, uncertain step back. We hesitate to use the term "breaking up" because as we all know, there will almost definitely be opportunities in the future during which we'll have the chance to play again and experience what we’ve shared with you, our fans, friends and families, since high school. The better way to describe it is, due to various things going on in all four of our lives, we've decided that the best decision right now is for us to focus on other things besides MJ Project. That's about all we can really say about it right now.

We would like to emphasize how much we've appreciated the love and support we've received from every single person who has ever been involved with us, whether you attended one of our shows, listened to one of our recordings, thought someone wearing one of our shirts just looked cool... However you have connected with us at all since we've been together, it has meant more than the world to us the entire time. Every single show has left us wanting to stay onstage and play more, knowing that such a great and accepting audience was always out there taking it all in. Thank you, thank you, THANK you again, from the bottom of our hearts.

All that being said, we don't know what the future holds beyond announcing these three final confirmed shows. Yes, these are the last opportunities for you to see us for at least the next several months, but possibly ever: one in New York for all you Big Apple kids, one in West Chester for the Philly-area folks, and one HUGE show in Philly at the 941 Theatre in November, for EVERYONE! Because that will certainly be our big blow-out show. You can even expect to see exciting and awe-inspiring sets from our side projects at the 941 show, to give you a taste of what to look forward to...

Thank you again. We hope that you all can understand and help us make these three shows killer experiences for everyone.

Hello MJ friends and family. Just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and update y’all on the latest news. As you can see we have a few scattered dates in Feburary, with more on the way. We’ve got a whole weekend in Richmond, VA planned right around Valentine’s Day (aww) so we can spread the love down south, among other dates in New York and Philly. Stay tuned for more and more and more and more....
We also wanted you to know we’re about to head out Baltimore way at the end of January to do some more RECORDINGS!! We’re excited to be working with Mike from the 8x10 Club to bring you several new tracks in the next few months. We’ll keep you posted on the progress as the project comes to fruition.
In the meantime, keep yourselves warm with our old album (available for purchase at www.mjproject.net) and we’ll see you at the shows!

SEE US FOR FREE IN NEW YORK THIS WEEKEND! HITCH A RIDE WITH US!
What you may already know is, we're playing Piano's in New York City this weekend. What you might NOT know is, if you're in Philly and can get yourself to the Glenside train station Saturday afternoon, you can get yourself a ride to the show and back In the MJMOBILE with a bunch of other crazy MJ fans. No driving on your behalf required! We'll get you there and home in one piece. Here's how:

Saturday, June 7
Piano's
158 Ludlow Street
New York, NY 10002
MJ set at 1am
21+
FREEEEEEE SHOWWWWW!!!!!
Click here to visit Piano's online

As for the MJMobile, we're serious about this. There are still a few seats available (though they're going fast) to ride up together with us for the show. The vans are scheduled to leave from the Glenside train station (free parking for your own vehicle on Saturdays and Sundays) around 6pm on Saturday evening. We even already have (excellent) drivers selected.
We're only asking $20 for the roundtrip ride; we'll get you up to the Big Apple nice and early so you can spend some time hanging out before our late-night set, and we'll get you back home in the early morn'. The show itself is free, so it's a great deal. If you are genuinely interested in booking one of the last few seats, contact us ASAP at info@mjproject.net and we'll give you more information.
Thanks in advance for helping us make this a great show!

Visit that piece now to hear two new live tracks, both recorded at our Nov. 30th World Cafe Live Upstairs residency show. Many thanks as always to Karl Rieders and his krew for the recordings and production, which you will hear are pretty incredible. The playing ain't bad either. So go to www.myspace.com/mjproject or click on the word "Booyakasha" to visit our page, see the hotttt new layout and take a listen to our take on Led Zep's "The Crunge" (from our special performance of Houses of the Holy) and a mystifying version of our own "Look at Me, I'm a Bodybuilder."

MJ PROJECT UPDATE - January 10, 2008
It brings me great joy to kick off this newsletter by bumping the year up to 2008. We hope you had an awesome New Year's, a great holiday season and a healthy breakfast this morning. Because breakfast can be the most important meal of the day.
Anyway, it ALSO brings me an enormous amount of joy and excitement to formally announce and begin the hypage for our next Philly show. If you haven't heard already, we are opening for THE BENEVENTO RUSSO DUO on Saturday, January 1, at Philadelphia's illustrious Fillmore at the TLA. Yes, The Duo. At The TLA. I feel like I sometimes overuse phrases such as "It's truly an honor for us" in these e-mails, but this time, I think it's obvious that we mean it wholeheartedly. Also on the bill: our sonically monstrous friends, Grimace Federation. I don't think I really need to say much else to sell this show.
So get your tickets NOW because they are going very, very fast, (no, seriously) and help us celebrate such a crazy wild awesome experience. Furthermore, if you order presale tickets online, you can help us secure bookings with amazing shows like this in the future. Seriously, please get your tickets online and soon, and bring a friend or seven. Here's the deet's:
Saturday, Jan. 19
Fillmore at the TLA
334 South Street
Philadelphia, PA
Doors: 8 p.m., Show: 9 p.m.
Opening for The Benevento Russo Duo
with Grimace Federation
Also featuring Playloop/PEX DJ's Justin Paul, Kezner & Ross D
For tickets, visit either of the following links:
http://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/1057703
http://www.livenation.com/search/intermediateSearch/searchstring/mj%20project/
And don't forget to get there early. We are scheduled to go on first. Remember all those shows you went to and decided the opening act wasn't worth seeing? Karma, bro. Karma.
