IGNORANCE IS BLISS

Society tells you Crime Doesn’t Pay
- but look at those fucking bankers!
Their crimes are approved by the powers that be,
- they’re all greedy self-serving wankers!

And the media will keep you docile, dumbed-down,
inoffensive and harmless and numb
Ignorance is bliss, be a good consumer
keep under the corporate thumb.

And politicians, in order to get into power
spout complete and utter bullshit
Like priests of their fucked-up religions
spewing hypocrisy from the pulpit.

And the media will keep you docile, dumbed-down,
inoffensive and harmless and numb
Ignorance is bliss, be a good consumer
keep under the corporate thumb.

For ‘Free Trade’ read ‘Slavery’
Capitalism equals greed
Fat cats feed off the cream of the land
Half the world’s in desperate need.

And the media will keep you docile, dumbed-down,
inoffensive and harmless and numb
Ignorance is bliss, be a good consumer
keep under the corporate thumb.

Do not set foot in the Land of Honesty.

Beware the Quicksand of Vulnerability.

Keep within the Queendom of Unquestioning Obeyance.

Steer clear of the unfenced pool of True Feelings.

Keep away from the dangerous cliffs of Free-thinking Individuality.

Access is barred to the Hornet’s Nest of Personal Opinions.

Extra-curricular activities are discouraged.

You say I’m a bitch like it’s a BAD thing
But hey - let me tell you ‘bout this GOOD thing

Before I was a Bitch
I would tolerate tossers politely
Before I was a Bitch
I would numb my numinosity nightly
Before I was a Bitch
I could never speak as I find
Before I was a Bitch
I wouldn’t dare speak my mind

Before I was a Bitch
I didn’t know how to honour my existence
Before I was a Bitch
I would receive rape without resistance
Before I was a Bitch
the pleasure was all yours
Before I was a Bitch
I’d let you win all the wars

Before I was a Bitch
I would get fucked over and feign indifference
Before I was a Bitch
I would mummify my own magnificence
Before I was a Bitch
I would do whatever you said
Before I was a Bitch
I’d let you take over my head

Now that I’m a Bitch
I won’t take no shit from those who control
Now that I’m a Bitch
I honour my mind, heart, body and soul.

Now that I’m a Bitch
I can take my sister by the hand
Now that I’m a Bitch
I can lead her to the promised land

Now that I’m a Bitch
I’m being my own number one
Now that I’m a Bitch
I’m raising hell and it sure is fun

You said I’m a Bitch like it’s a bad thing
But now you know it’s a good thing

We (The Invisible Opera Company of Tibet) are putting on a gig to celebrate rock god Brian Zero's birthday and Ye Olde Pagan Festival of Beltane at legendary venue, The Highwayman Inn, at Sourton, near Okehampton THIS FRIDAY!
It's free to get in but we will be putting the pointy hat round to collect for musicians' expenses and for FREE TIBET.... and hope you can come along and suppport the cause - but first and foremost to PSYCHE OUT IN YOUR WILDEST CLOTHES WITH YOUR CRAZY MATES and get all ecstatic.
Or at least, pleasantly happy.
We have done some unforgettable gigs there over the years, let's make this one another night to remember! Have a look in my 'Posters' album in my pics cos I aint sure how to add an attachment to a blog.... sad that I am, a severely technically-challenged member of the older generation.
Come take a trip with us.....lose your marbles..... leave your mind behind....

Current mood:  aroused

Handcuffs on young men as frisky as kittens
Bright scarlet markings where they have been bitten
Cute little torsos all tied up with strings
These are a few of my favourite things

Cream coloured undies so pretty and lacy
PVC high heels with buckles and laces
The sheerest and blackest of seamed stockings
These are a few of my favourite things

Boys in tight trousers chained up to the ceiling
All dressed in rubber is such a good feeling
Enjoying arousal that dominance brings
These are a few of my favourite things

When the whip bites, when the crop stings,
When I'm being bad,
He simply surrenders his will unto Mine
And then he just feels so glad!

Bilbo has made a miraculous recovery from tendonitis so we are up and running once more.... and have a gig at Exeter Phoenix supporting Nik Turner's Space Ritual on 11th April.Yeeeeee-fucking-HAAAH!

We have lots of new material, plus a couple of classic covers of awesome songs from yesteryear.... and improvised psych-out jams in the true spirit of creative freefalling!

Hawkwind founder member Nik Turner formed Space Ritual in 2001 "to revive the lost magic and original spirit of the true Hawkwind"and they've never looked back. Featuring ex-Hawkwind members Terry Ollis, Thomas Crimble, Del Dettmar, Ron Tree and Mick Slattery, plus Sam Ollis and Chris Purdon (co-publisher of Bob Calvert's written legacy) Space Ritual deliver Hawkwind classics in the way they were originally conceived: wildly psychedelic jams where song structures give way to spaced-out improvisation augmented by a cosmic light show.

Have a look at the Phoenix website for more details.

The Invisible Opera Company of Tibet:
Jackie Juno - vocals, tinkle-tonk, riding crop, percussion
Brian Zero Abbott - guitars & vocals
Bilbo Bill Birks - drums
Wing Commander Tim Gill - bass, nicotine patches
Clive Buckland-Bork - keys, horns, laptop machinations and occasional fretting

Live and unplugged on Phonic fm next Tuesday

The posters are lookin good have a shufty on my  pics ('poster' album)
