"The Planks" from our new album "Elixirs" can be downloaded from here."Guapo are back! Three years have passed since Black Oni (Ipecac), but the new album is finally here and thus concludes the recondite triptych they set out to accomplish. In the years between Black Oni, Guapo have been through a line-up change which triggered a change in course. Elixirs This weeks' song of the week is "The Planks" taken from their brand new album Elixirs on Neurot. At three minutes, ten seconds long, "The Planks" is a relentless run of percussion and rhythm, with guitars so fine they could cut through flesh. This song's roots seem to surpass any normal influence and lie deep within the traditional music and rhythms of Africa and the East. But psychedelia seems to take pride of place here, almost akin to the psychedelia and funk of 60's Africa. Whatever your feelings about Guapo are, you must listen to Elixirs, as their third full length this is there most rounded work to date." - Sam Weston
