What we can tell you is that SONY execs are already discussing another price cut as a "possibility" to distributors and retailers. Nothing is concrete. There has been no word on who exactly at SONY is discussing this. The word "execs" is all we got when XF asked who.

Koei recently revealed the new Dynasty Warriors game in Famitsu. The title was called Dynasty Warriors 6 and was announced exclusively for the Playstation 3. 

Today, publisher Koei and developer Omega Force are announcing that Dynasty Warriors 6 will also be released on Xbox 360, as well as Playstation 3.

Take-Two is reducing its fiscal 2007 guidance primarily to reflect the movement of the launch of Grand Theft Auto IV for the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360-- video game and entertainment system from the fourth quarter of fiscal 2007 to fiscal 2008, due to additional development time required to complete the title. The title is now planned for release in the Company's second quarter of fiscal 2008. Additionally, Take-Two is updating third quarter and fiscal year 2007 guidance to reflect the movement of Manhunt 2 for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system and the Wii-- out of the third quarter and the fiscal year.

While many were surprised by the fact that MS was planning to drop the Core from it's SKU line-up, it finally helped XF make sense of something we stumbled upon late last week. Recent rumors regarding games being "dumbed down" abound, coupled with word from our contacts last week that the the Core was being discontinued had lead us to believe MS was about to make a big change to the way 360 games are made.

After launching its figurehead skating title, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, in 1999 and maintaining a metronomic release schedule ever since (see page 69 for 2007's instalment, Tony Hawk's Proving Ground), the studio is showing no visible signs of exhaustion, regardless of how its less forgiving fans may sometimes feel.

Codemasters has denied rumors that its recently-released PC and Xbox 360 title Overlord will be ported to the Sony PlayStation 3 video game console. This according to European video game news site Eurogamer. The rumors surfaced due to a job listing spotted on the website of Overlord developer Triumph Studios.

As with everything XF posts thanks to it's connections, the HD-DVD price rumor came true. Even better, the price cut has been moved up by several retailers to take advantage of those ready to kick down the $179.99 (down from $199) to join in on the High-Def disc fun.
