Hey all,

I've got some sad news to report regarding my brother in law and his wife. They were in a bad motorcycle accident on Saturday morning just before the Memorial Day holiday.

Their names are Shane and Becky Williams. They have 4 children.

Shane will be ok and came out with some pretty bad road rash on his arms, but Becky did not fare so well.

Becky suffered some major head injuries and has undergone several operations on her brain to relieve pressure. Best case scenario is that if she comes through she will not be the same person due to loss of some of the frontal lobe. The last 5 days or so have been a wait and see with regards to her condition and now the doctors say there is not much more they can do except wait and see if swelling goes down.

Friends and family have been helping with the physical needs for Shane and the kids, Shane has been renting a room at the hospital so he can be with Becky. The hospital is about 2 hours from their home. Their kids have been staying with us and occasionally at some friends.

What we need from everybody right now is prayer. Our God is Faithful and True and whatever the outcome of this we know He is Trustworthy. We will praise Him knowing that Becky's eternity is His priority and nothing will get in the way of His love for her. Please pray that in His great Mercy, we might be blessed with some more time in this life with Becky. Pray that Shane and their kids will feel the Love of their Saviour during this time like never before. Pray.

What we need from some of you who can is some financial assistance for Shane. He is getting the time he needs off from his job but not at full pay and it is getting expensive to stay at the hospital. Aside from co-pays with the insurance company for prescriptions and follow up care for doctors and whatever costs might be incurred with future care for Becky, the financial burden is becoming evident. If you live in an area that has an IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union you can go there and simply say you would like to make a deposit into Shane Williams account. If not, or if it is easier to donate online, please go to http://thelandofcoz.blogspot.com/ and click on the "donate" button and donate through PayPal. All donations recieved will go towards helping support Shane and his kids during this time.

God Bless you all and thanks in advance, and thanks be to our God who has saved us through His Son, Jesus.

Maple Lake was written a long time ago before I was saved by God's Grace. When I was 19 yrs old, one of my best friends, named Mike, was diagnosed with luekemia. The group of friends I hung out with were confident in his recovery. He had chemo, and after a bone marrow transplant began to get better. Our confidence was still very strong but it was not based on any faith, none of us were Christians. Within 6 months, Mike took a turn for the worse, the cancer came back, and he was dead.

You'll never see a more hopeless, confused, and hurt bunch of teenagers than those who do not know the Lord and are standing at the casket of their dead friend. All we had was questions, nobody had any answers.

I remember at that time there was this place, Maple Lake, that we all used to hang out together. Its where I was on that morning I received the phone call that Mike had passed. Looking back, I can see that God provided us a place of beauty and comfort even though at that time I did not recognize Him as the Creator.

At 25 years old the Holy Spirit called me out of darkness and I got saved. I accepted Jesus into my heart and my life. It was after this that a memory came back to me. I remembered being in one of the hospital waiting rooms with my group of friends one day after visiting with Mike. A priest had entered the room and announced to us that Mike had accepted Jesus into his heart and made his peace with God. We asked him cynically if that meant he would walk again. There was no further conversation on thae subject.

And then it hit me, Mike accepted the Lord Jesus into his heart and indeed will walk again! Hallelulah! I will see Mike on that glorious day of Christ's return! Maple Lake is a song that reflects on that place that God gave to me as a place of comfort, as a sort of deposit, a prelude to the exceeding comfort and joy that would be found when I ultimately came to him.

Won't you do the same?

Mindset is pretty basic, taken right out of Phillipians 4:8 -

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

Protect your minds, even your thoughts. Especially your thoughts. From these will flow your words and your actions.

Set you minds on things above.

Jesus has a reward for you in Heaven, that is the goal.

I hope to see you there!

He Knew was written for my wife, well, before she was my wife. I wrote it in preparation for our wedding day and sang it for the first time at the alter. She is a Godly wife who helps me to be a Godly man. I couldn't ask for more in a help mate from God. We both come from bad situations in our past, poor decisions, and choices made outside of the will of God. But together He has made us new creations. One in each other, and one in Him.
