- Hey dude, what's up with Ste Cath ?
- Nothing much man...
- Really ?! You guys should update your site or something...
- yeah.

so here it is :

1- We are writing new songs right now. We have 4 new ones. Me and Fred are writing together at my place every tuesday from 4 to 6 and the other are writing in their respective living room/bedroom. I don't think Rich is writing new drum parts, but he's been busy recording drums for our buddy Colin Moore's ( www.myspace.com/colinsacoustic ) debut album. He is also delivering a whole lot of meat. We have the title for the new record and the artwork all figured out. We are planning on recording before the end of the year 2009 and we don't know when it will be ready or when it will come out, but we know it will be before 2011. For the people asking if we are still on Fat Wreck...well...yes. At least we think.
title of the new songs:
* CHUB E & HANK III
* Fairytale Of Montreal 2
* The Great Somewhere Else
* Love Me Or Leave Town Version 4.0 ( I Really Like Ramblin' Jack Elliot )

2- Yesterdays Ring has a new record coming out this year. Its called Diamonds Of The Ditch. For those who don't know, Yesterday's Ring is all of us in The Sainte Catherines minus Beaudet plus Ryan Battistuzzi. Malcolm Bauld was in the band, but is not anymore. Sorry about that to all of you, cuz now, we are half as good as we were with him. Oh well...
We don't know what label it's gonna come out on and we don't know when. We know that we will start playing in april, for the famous POUTINE & CIGARETTES 3 ( without the sainte catherines ) !!!! If you want to book the tour in your town, or book the band in general, email hugo@preste.ca

3-The Sainte Catherines won't be playing shows before we have a new record out BUT we will be touring Europe in September 2009 and Australia in February 2010. Hopefully, we have a new record by then. If you want to book us in Europe, email jan@yoyorecords.de  for Australia, check it out with  matthewmarasco@hotmail.com .  We really want to go to Japan too!

4- We did a cover of Johnny Cash for the All Aboard : A Tribute To Johnny Cash compilation that came out last week on Anchorless Records. Check it out.

5- We did a remix/collaboration with the best rapper in this city. The song is called MA MUSIQUE, the artist is CHUB E PELLETIER and the album is also called MA MUSIQUE. Remember when you thought that rap core was possible and then you heard Limp Bizkit and your dreams were over. Well, you were right. Its possible , but its called RAPUNK.

6- We recorded a new song live in a parking lot of a restaurant for a TV show called MANGE TA VILLE on ARTTV. The song is called " CHUB E AND HANK III". It should be all over the internet in the next couple weeks , unless Mafiaboy doesnt feel like it.

7- We won " BEST PUNK ALBUM OF THE YEAR" for our " album" THE SODA MACHINE. It's a movie about us + a CD with a bunch of rejected songs. Its not a good album, but it was still the "best" punk album to come out of Montreal in 2008. So, please, stop asking me : "How's the punk scene in Montreal dude ? "
- It sucks.

8- Louis had a daughter and shes turning one in november. Fred and RIch will both have babies this winter. 4 out of the 6 of us will now know what Tempra is.

9- We got back from Mexico and yeah we finished the tour as a 4 piece. No Louis is not the new bass player and yes, Fred and Pablo are still in the band. Mexico was more than great! Check out the band US AGAINST THE WORLD. I want to go back to Mexico and drink more beer and eat more quesedilla. EL QUESO POR FAVOR!!!!

10 - We won't breakup before the year 2012.

Hughes is in Hollywood last heard and he was modeling for versace and drinking mojitos with the fat Mexican detective in Dexter...or he's tour managing malajube…. who knows

Top of the morning friends. it's been a long time...like my man Rakim said but you knew we would be back, so yeah...

The fat tour was a fucking blast, thanks for coming out to the shows, both the Caddies and the real Mc kenzies were beyond awesome, two of the best band we've ever toured with, expect more shows with both bands down the line and expect some sweet collaborations... thanks to all the promoters for doing what they do, a big thank you to Shooner and DeepSam for coming along with us and dealing with our shitty joke and Louis haha... jk Louis, but seriously we were very lucky to have these two along with us, so next time you see them at a show buy Sam an Irish Car Bomb and buy Shoon a virgin marie... Props to Mel K and Fat

We have a couple of shows lined up around Montreal. we should have the dates posted soon

but for now we will be taking a break to start writing the new record and while we're at it, we're gonna write a brand new yesterday's ring record aswell, cuz that's just how we roll...so if you wanna see us live the next three shows will be your last chance till the new record' which should see the light in 2008 on el fat Wreck Chord...

see you soon

Beaudet jouera dans Rudy Caya et en neckera une couple

Poutine, cigarette & veggie dogs....and booze
Thanks Sudbury and Toronto

We just got back from another drunken Poutine & Cigarettes & veggie street dogs filled weekend with our lovely comrades fifth hour hero and Dirty tricks. First off I just want to say that touring with these two bands is just amazing, nothing like seeing some of your best friends rock out every night.

A BIG thank you to Melanie from Fat for the awesome time, props to our buddy Tony for setting up yet another fun filled show in Sudbury, same goes to our buddy John D for setting up the Toronto show making it most probably the best show we've ever had there, and we've had a shit load of good shows in Toronto (against me, me first, sub hum ans, the bayonettes, none more black, fifth hour hero) but this show was just off the hook, the amount of people who showed up for the show blew us all away and your reception was nothing short of overwhelming, everyone was smiling, dancing, having a good time. Seriously we can't wait to come back and play for you guys again. Shows like these are why we are nowhere near stopping.

From now on every Toronto show has to be like this, sweaty, dirty and fun. We also got to see a lot of friends and make tons of new ones which is always a plus and what punk shows should be all about…

Here is what someone had to say about our set in Toronto. Also peep the sweet pictures….

http://www.formertransformer.com/gallery/628/

The Sainte Catherines were strong, extreme and entertaining too. The songs are good, the band is friendly and even if it's nothing identifiably unique, they make a way fun show with an instant openness to the crowd. Actually, listen to the myspace tracks - while most of it is just good contemporary punk, there is something kind of different with some of the guitars. And I wish you could hear a recording of just the stuff Chat says between songs, like 'by being at this show you are supporting separatism…' I forget the punch line but I was laughing at the time. By the end you would think they were playing the home show end of a long tour, half the crowd was on stage singing and falling over.

See you in Kitchner

Pablo & the Sainte Catherines

Some highlights include

-Balloo vs. 4 Veggie dogs'…winner Balloo
-After party at Matty F (thanks for the place to crash)
-3 40oz of Fireball 3 cases of beer and a bunch of schwag in a bag
-Vegan, vegetarian & all dressed pizzas
- The ogling of the sex book, not really a highlight but funny none the less
- Lots of good friends.

Things I've learned or had forgotten about, when people spill beer or whiskey on you and your instrument while your shredding their souls, a good thing to do is to clean off all the junk before you store it away for a week in your gig bag, cause not doing so may result in some nasty fucking smell taking over and pissing off your roommates…

What else is new…ah yes I remember

We are proud to announce the FAT WRECK CHORDS/1.2.3. Punk Tour in Canada featuring the Mad Caddies, Real McKenzies and the Sainte Catherines. 1.2.3. Punk is an awesome video show up in Canada on Musique Plus TV and they are sponsoring the entire tour along with Exclaim Magazine and Gasoline Magazine. Musique Plus will even be sending out the host of the show, Rej, to follow these bloated American (and Scottish and Canadian) rapscallions as they traipse around your country looking for adventure. If there is one thing that is at the heart and core of every Canadian's soul it's REGGAE and the Caddies are coming to deliver that to your glorious climate. 1.2.3. Punk will be airing 8, 30-minute special episodes on the box that you stare at American Idol on, along with a live performance by all three bands at the Musique Plus studios when they hit Montreal. The tour starts on July 14th in Victoria, BC and ends on August 4th in Halifax, NS and we already have all the links for you to buy tickets right here. FRENCH BLOG AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE

So the first show of the tour is over, and it was a fucking blast,
To be honest when we were driving down to the show, we were kinda sceptical about this one show, every band that has toured a lot; knows that on every tour there is always a couple of not so good show or for lack of better words really fucking shitty shows… for examples last year's stop in 3 riv was one of those really fucking shitty shows…fast forward a year and things done changed son, just the presale by itself was like 5 times the total amount of people who saw us there the year before. shit was fucking sweet last night, tons of kids showed up with basically a week's notice, big ups to Jeepee for taking over the show at the very last second since the original promoter flaked out big time…so once again props to Jeepee for doing a great job, big up to young and lost and days of theory for replacing u-seed and disco tigers…who for some reason didn't make it to the show, we hope all is well with them…but seriously it was like a blessing in disguise; we got to see our friends young & lost again, those guys fucking rule, they played really catchy stuff, kids were skanking and dancing, good to see them, days of theory dudes were rad, they lent us their drum, because rich broke his drum skin at 5 pm exactly when all the stores close on Saturday. Thanks dudes, check them out if you're into late nineties moshcore…

Dirty tricks didn't make it…hopefully we'll see our dear friends at the next show

Now to the heroes…

Fifth hour hero like always played a great set with some of old classics that made a couple of old school fans extremely happy, the kids were really into them, now I'll take a second here and say this; there's about 10 shows left on this tour that means you still have 10 chances to see one of the greatest punk band to ever come out of Canada, I'm also not saying this because they are my friends and are by far some of the nicest bunch of humans anyone as ever met. Do yourself a favour and check them out, it's moments like these that we can all reminisce later on in our lives and say we were all part of something very special with one the of the bestestest bands ever…and if you feel inclined to come and thank me for this little reminder please do so, I accept beer and fancy little girly drinks that have tons of fruit juices and little alcohol…I also accept those wacky tobacco filled cigarettes…

We took the stage right after the heroes, A big thank you to everyone for making this show one of the best we've had in a long time in 3riv, not to be some self flattering douche, but seriously we fucking rocked like a Chevy on a dirt road, and it's really all thanks to all you guys, thanks for singing along and going all out, we all really appreciate it…we also played a brand new song called Chub-E & Hank III, as the tour progresses expect another 1 or 2 new songs to creep into the set, also as far as coming back to three rivers, we should be back sometime in July…some of you already know with who others will soon find out ( I know I'm a jerk hahaha)
Once again thanks for the great day in 3 rivers…

But that's not all…

Now the piece de resistance of the evening was the after party at the coconut motel, mad tiki drinks were either consumed or spilled, copious amount of good ganj was smoked and we crashed a wedding reception, well not in a cheesy way like some meathead jocks would do, we just got to hang and dance with them and have a good laugh, the best tho was the bride's dad, he was this tiny dude with a tight little body that you can only get in prison and some gnarly tattoos…we're thinking of taking him into our crew and making him like HEAD MOTHERFUCKER IN CHARGE OF SHIT THAT NEEDS TO GET DEALT WITH…

So what's next?
Ah yes two of our favourite places to play Sudbury and Toronto…hopefully I get to write some cool shit, it's really all up to you…and as far as I know, I'll have tons of shit to write about, being that Sudbury and Toronto are two places were we always have a good time…wasn't always like that hehe

Toodles
Pablo "girly drinks" Boerr & THE SAINTE CATHERINES

J'ai ben aimé entendre les célèbres phrases ''Glasses you own'' pis toutes les autres classiques. Pour notre part, on a joué une nouvelle chanson. On en a 3 nouvelles plus un cover de Leatherface. On a recommencé a composer depuis peu.
Bravo...
