J. Neas over at WQFS just selected "Spiders" as his number three choice for "Best Singles of 2009!"

Here's what he had to say:

3. Lake Inferior - "Spiders" : The best single from a North Carolina band this year is this hybrid of Animal Collective's spartan, electronic adornments and the funky thump of Talking Heads. It's the type of song that comes along and changes your thoughts about what pop music can be and how it has to work, where it's come from and where it's going. FromLake Inferior EP.

We achieved victory!

Congratulations to Apollo and Lafcadio as well. We'll be sharing a spot in Vinyl Records with them for awhile and are really excited to see what comes of it =)

Also, we have a new, unfinished song up if you guys want to check out some stuff from the upcoming EP

Hey guys, just letting you all know what's going on at the Lake.

Our first ever EP is steadily nearing completion! It's five songs long and yet to be named, but we're excited about how the music is sounding so far. We'll post the track list soon so you all can deliberate on the subliminal messages behind the order of the songs.

Bad news, though! Bo recently had a huge log fall on him (seriously!) and his hand has been broken in three places! Therefore we will not be able to play any live shows for at least a month, but will use this downtime to work on the EP and schedule some future shows. We will be playing a showcase for Vinyl Records on September 26th, though, and would love it if you came to support us! Some other sweet bands are playing as well, so it'll be a fun show regardless. We'll fill you in with more information on that later.

Until then, darlings, take care.

Love,
Dax
