Hello! It seems way too early to say this, but Happy Holidays... it feels like I blinked this summer and suddenly it's Thanksgiving! Happy Halloweenie! It's always the end of a week long birthday celebration and my favorite holiday! Thank you to everyone who came to my awesome birthday party @ INFATUATION last week. Extra special thanx to all my rockstar friends who DJed: Worthy, Syd Gris, Dutch, Tamo & Melyss! I definitely paid the price the next morning after consuming an excessive amount of alcohol! LOL! :)

There's so much going on in San Francisco this week and it won't be thwarted by the closing down of the Bay Bridge! This Saturday I will be playing at HAUNTED TEMPLE @ Temple dressed in a yet to be determined sexy costume. Any suggestions? Please help! Beats for Boobs will host its 6th annual fundraiser, raising community awareness for breast cancer through a collective celebration of art, fashion, food and music.

This year will be our biggest yet!! We hope to raise over $25,000. (Last year Beats for Boobs raised over $16,800 for the breast cancer cause). How are we doing this? With YOU, YOU, AND YOU!

Who said summer was over? The party never stops it seems... I'm still recovering from SF LovEvolution last weekend, the wildest busiest one ever! It was a blast to play on the Opel float during the parade on Market Street, then the Opel afterparty later that night. This week I'm a busy (queen) bee again. For you South Bay peeps, I'm making a rare appearance down yonder in San Jose SOUNDSEX @ Club Motif on Friday. Then Sunday is jam-packed with the 2ND SUNDAY SEASON CLOSER @ Mission Rock and the 10th Annual SF DECOMPRESSION. This week is about DJ ICON; one of the leading ladies of breakbeat and a contributor to the culture around this weekend’s San Francisco LovEvolution, an electronic dance music (EDM) parade and festival. She is known in the breakbeat scene for tight sets of big beats and travels the world playing them. Now you can download and listen to her Weapon of Choice Vol. 2 mix here on Jungo Road which includes her soon to be released Welcome to My Dancefloor collaboration with Dustin Hulton featuring Nikki Carabello on illeven eleven recordings.

ICON rose through the ranks of the underground in the ’90s when female DJs and promoters were few. She quickly landed numerous residencies in her hometown of San Francisco and bookings throughout the US and beyond. Now a DJ over a decade, she has held residencies at world famous clubs such as Limelight in New York City as well as San Francisco’s 1015 Folsom, The End-Up and Temple. She has also shared the stage with major EDM players the likes of Underworld, The Chemical Brothers, The Crystal Method, Ladytron, Paul Oakenfold, Adam Freeland, Armand Van Helden, Deekline & Wizard, The Stanton Warriors, The Freestylers, Evil Nine, Elite Force, Uberzone, Bassbin Twins and DJ Icey.

ICON is an deeply participating member of the EDM culture. She is a key member of Sister SF, the influential female DJ collective from San Francisco that creates a thriving DJ community for women in the dance music industry. She established Reverb Records, one of the last vinyl record stores in SF. Radio loves her with residencies and guest spots on programs such as Thump Funk on XM Satellite Radio, Boombox Mix Sessions on Sirius, Solid State on K-ROCK, and iBreaks in the UK. She shares the Editor-In-Chief title of the San Francisco LovEvolution Guide. Finally, she ranked in Shejay’s “Top 100 Female DJs” and was recently voted as one of San Francisco’s top ten DJs in the 2008 Nitevibe “Top 10 DJ Dreamteam” Poll.

Hiya! Just a quick note to mention that I'm playing INFATUATION at Vessel again this evening (Wednesday) with the lovely Sarah Delush. We happen to both be Sister SF girls who moved to NYC and back.

Also, I would like to present to you... my new MIX! WEAPON OF CHOICE VOL. 2 features 21 tracks of banging Breaks, Electro House, Bassline Techno and Fidget including a dope intro drop by MC Flipside as well as my new track with Dustin Hulton ft. Nikki Carabello. I had so much fun making this mix despite my gazillion Ableton crashes but I am very happy with the end product. In true ICON fashion, it's guaranteed to give you bass face! So please enjoy and let me know what y'all think! :)
