Going, Going, Gone

Thanks to everyone who ordered a copy of the Diamond Rings / PS I Love You Split 7". Both PS and I played the Pop Montreal festival this past weekend, and after tallying the merch we realized that we only had about a couple dozen records left.

Anyhow, we've decided that we want to save those copies and sell them at our upcoming shows in Toronto and Kingston with Katie Stelmanis. So unless you live in either city, the vinyl is essentially SOLD OUT. If you've already ordered a copy, don't worry - we'll still mail it to you - but we're not going to be taking any more online orders.

So I was shaken awake this morning by my roommate/music video director Colin Medley, who quite giddily broke the news that "All Yr Songs" had been written up on Pitchfork. Needless to say, we're both really excited that a few extra sets of eyes and ears are going to have the chance to see our labour of love.

Steel Bananas, Steel Wheels

Hey folks,

There's so much to talk about that I'm going to have to address things numerically.

1. Local online zine Steel Bananas just released a new issue for the month of July, and it's full of wrap up coverage of NXNE. Yours truly made the cover spot. To read the interview and see some new photos check the link.

2. The test presses for the long awaited Diamond Rings / PS I Love You split 7" have arrived, and I'm happy to say they sound badass. Keep your ear to the ground because release dates are planned throughout August.

3. Shooting for the video of "All Yr Songs" wrapped last week, and the finished product will be spamming an inbox near you in a matter of weeks.

4. Recording continues, and is sounding awesome.

Toronto Western Hospitality

Hi everyone,

Diamond Rings will be playing a house party this Sunday, November 16th at the Oxford Hotel in Kensington Market, Toronto, Ontario. I've recorded a small sampler titled 'Toronto Western Hospitality' and will have several copies available for sale or trade at the show. These specific songs were written throughout the summer of 2008 during an extended residency at Toronto Western Hospital and were recorded this fall on my personal computer. I really hope that you enjoy them, and it would be fantastic to see you this Sunday.
