First off, an apology. Due to the crew DJ being involved in a car accident on the BQE—DJ Noumenon of Scratch Academy is banged up, but will be fine after mainlining Percocet over the weekend—Spec Boogie's "Dollar-Sign Language" will not be available for free download on Digital Gravel until next week. Everyone's okay and shit happens. Next.

So we've got another joint off "Dollar-Sign Language" available this week. On "True Romance," Spec Boogie uses' Lil Wayne's "Shooter" to tell the story of a Katrina survivor and a girl from Harlem who fall in love and go on a crime spree. Songs like this show why everyone is so excited about Spec Boogie: "True Romance" is conceptual, impeccably told, and utilizes one rhyme scheme for the entire song. Ridiculous.

Elucid drops more heat with an extended verse over the beat from Ice-T's "Lifestyles of the Rich and Infamous" to discuss ways if living that are less the former than the latter. Here's a snip of his stunning lyrics:

My environment decayed
Crack vial maze on the playground
Bullets crowd the air, so we stayed down
It made me, never really shaped how I viewed myself
Just the cards I'm dealt
They said I'm bigger than this
While them niggas are wildin'
My crew chain-snatch, ain't nobody smiling
Grew to pack heat, I was scared of them sirens
W.E.B. and street legend admiring
Blood in my diary, never seen a man cry
'Til Pops threw a rose in the cold, watch the tears fly
Uncle in the earth, man, that felt like a landslide
Death shows time with addictions you can't hide

For the few of you that are looking to download Dollar-Sign Language today, I'm sorry to inform you that I smoke too much weed and I lost some files that I need to wrap this up so uhh, next wednesday, I promise.

Here's what we've got this week. On "Starstruck" Elucid reacts to the Sean Bell verdict and subsequent outcry over a joint from Santogold. It's not the typical rah-rah "take to the streets" material: "Niggas want to riot, but y'all scared of revolution/ couldn't wrap your brain 'round what it takes for real improvement," he declares. Serious business.

Our second track, Spec Boogie's "Psychotic Girl" is less political, but equally true to life. He transforms The Black Keys' track of the same name into an account of a woman who ravages relationships. Just as the track is coming to a conclusion, he pauses, requests the last bar be looped up, and then drops another verse while channeling the RZA: "Poison ivy, Delilah, Jezebels/fly with the doobie wraps and painted fingernails/When you in the shower, she be going through your cell/Hoot and holla, now you sitting in the jail." This joint is from Spec's upcoming mixtape "Dollar-Sign Language" which will be available next week.

This week, we've got another joint off my "Dollar-Sign Language" mixtape that drops next week on Digital Gravel. I flips Huey's "Pop Lock & Drop It" into "Cock Blockin' Problem", which is exactly what it sounds like. Fun, versatile shit there. Then there's yet another remix from Elucid, who transforms Crystal Castles' "Magic Spells" into a declaration of arrogant individuality in only the way he can ("Parked my spaceship on Flatbush/Bad brains on crank, dirty cops throw crass looks"). And yeah, that's him *singing* the hook. ZOMG.

Vote for Loosie in the Rocafella "Kingdom Come" contest and we'll give you a free hunk of organ meat!

Read no further! Click here immediately to vote for Loosie in Jay-Z's "Kingdom Come" contest.

It took about four years of unbridled kowtowing to every industry honcho who spat phlegm in our direction, but we..ve finally managed to sell out. And let us tell you, it..s sweet. By catering to the corporate whims of Def Jam, the Universal Music Group and Young Vito (The Voice of the Young People), we..ve been guaranteed not only swarms of online visitors to gobble up our bandwidth like ravenous locusts, but also countless Maybachs with translucent moon-roofs, cam-phone flicks of Beyonce nip-slips, and trips to foreign locales where girls dance with girls and the Blueberry still connects.

We..ll explain. As of today, Loosie is involved in an online popularity contest that also promotes Jay-Z..s forthcoming Kingdom Come album. While we..re more like the weird kid who sat in the dirty corner of the cafeteria carving images from ..Guernica.. into the table with a switchblade and muttering about ..alien larvae in the French bread pizza.., we still want your vote. I..m not sure who all of our competition is in this Premiership league of online bloggery and e-zinery, but we..re going to start Swift Boating them bitches right now. Here..s a closely-guarded fact: those other sites that you could vote for were all involved in recruiting efforts to get their readers to call Hot97 and vote for ..Ether.. during the epic Jay-Nas battle of 2001-2005. It..s all true. In fact, it's probably on wikipedia, but we..re far too busy keeping our wrists frosty to find a link for proletariat urchin like you. Loosie, on the other hand, has been riding for Shawn Carter since before Hawaiian Sophie was a drop of Malibu rum in Jaz-O..s plastic cup.

From the rough details we..ve been provided, you can vote for the Loosie Administration and Family of Related Barnyard Products once a day on the Def Jam site. We..d appreciate if you figured out a way to cheat their polling system, but if you can..t do that, just throw us a vote or two with your daily Stoli and Vicodin screwdriver. If you..ve been living in a e-cave, feel free to head over to our message boards and chat about Jay..s three new tracks (..Show Me What You Got.., ..Kingdom Come.. and ..Lost Ones..) as well as that Hot97 freestyle with a giggling Funkmeister Flex. Or talk about celebrity sightings, the NBA opening week action or German soldiers who pose with Afghani skulls. And remember to always throw some D's on that bitch.

I jacked this from Che who yoinked it from Von who gaffled it from Bill, I think.

IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE?
So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend your cool...

Opening Credits:
Ghostface Killa feat. Trife "Be Easy"
real hype way to start a movie credits moving on and off the screen real fast, big 3d letters n shit.

Waking Up:
Chubb Rock, O.C., Jeru the Damaja "Return of the Crooklyn Dodgers"
I swear to jesus I'm not cheating

First Day At School:
Gravediggaz "Suicide"
well I remember being real scared on my first day of shcool so I guess it fits. I had a wild nightmare the night before too.

Falling In Love:
Madlib "Brothers Can't See Me"
pretty much

Fight Song:
Sam Cooke "Another Saturday Night"
haha, I SWEAR I'm not cheating. "Saturday night and I ain't got nobody" pretty much why a LOT of people get into fights. it would be a funny song to fight to.

Breaking Up:
A Tribe Called Quest "Jazz"
most appropriate song for this spot actually. I dated a girl named Jasmine(jazz) in junior high and we broke up cuz she was a ho; every nigga had the jazz. thank's for ruining this song for me Bill.

Prom:
Stevie Wonder "You Are the Sunshine of My Life"
I didn't even go to prom.

Life:
Gill Scott Heron "Winter in America"
bein a nigga is HARD round here.

Mental Breakdown:
Nygz "Giants Ta This"
umm... yeah I rise to the top and the pressure of success drives me over the edge. heavy is the head my negroes.

Driving:
Michael Jackson "The Lady In My Life"
nightime shit, driving real smooth on the autobon on the way to Noemie Lenoir's house

Flashback:
Nas "Watch Them Niggas"
and she set me up!

Getting Back Together:
Black Sheep "Gimme the Finga"
ummm. no comment on that right there

Wedding:
MC Lyte "Poor Georgie"
her vows are the second verse, hahahaha. kind of tragic for a wedding story.

Birth of Child:
Radiohead "Anyone Can Play Guitar"
this is dope because that first guitar part could represent the chaos & pain of being born (now that I think about it I think it's supposed to), and the first words are "Destiny protect me form the world" which is dope as shit for a birth scene.

Final Battle:
the Clash "Lost In the Supermarket"
battle for the last pint of cinamon Häagen-Daz

Death Scene:
Cam'ron "biter not a writer"
play a lot of biggie at my funeral

Funeral Song:
Marvin Gaye "Wholy Holy"
I'm not cheating!

End Credits:
Redman "A Day of Soopaman Lova"
word.

and I swear my ipod isn't 95% hip hop like it looks on here. not that I don't like hip hop. it's cool if you're into that sort of thing.

I guess

Current mood:so unreasonable!
I got feisty and rapped over about 90% of pharrell's album in four days. A couple of the tracks have been up on my page for a week and I got some of my crew to come through and drop verses as well. Here are the links

sendspace
rapidshare
megaupload

tracklisting: since I've copied and pasted this same message everywhere I can think of I'll take the time here to go into detail about what I did here. I started this on Thursday August 3rd and finished on Sunday August 6th pretty much only stopping to sleep, then sent it out to all my peoples who I wanted to lay guest verses on it. Here's the rundown.
01 Got It Like That 2:03
for some reason since I first heard the horns on this single I automatically think back to Cyrus' speech at he beginning of the warriors. they just match so perfectly in theme and sheer volume so I wrote a verse taking lines here and there from said scene and tailored it to the beat. the lyrics are your standard braggadocio fare.

02 How Does It Feel? 2:14
WOOP WOOP. only one thing comes to mind when I hear that sound... the sound of the beeeaaassst. wrote it from the perspective of the oppressor rather than the oppressed just to make it different from No Knock or any other track that I've done on this subject.

03 Raspy Shit 3:33
at first I was only going to do this one. someone played me the original and I liked it so much that when I saw the instrumentals on iTunes I copped the whole thing just for this beat. I pretty much used it as a graveyard for older verses that were on the album and got replaced, but I still like to spit. if you've ever seen me live you might have heard some of these bars.

04 Best Friend 4:22
my favorite joint hands down. it's the kicks. I don't know why this son's beat & title reminded of sneakers but it did and I ran with it (pun intended). Where'd You Get Those?!!

05 Number One featuring Von Pea 2:54
Von Pea and I just goofing off, poking fun at the metrosexuality in the video. yeah that's right I said metrosexuality.

06 Show You How To Hustle 3:34
tough rhymes for tough guys. this one was written a couple of nights before I started this when Bennie Guinness and I drunkenly yelled coke rap punchlines at each other. I like it but I forgot some good ones.

07 Baby featuring DonWill 2:12
the way I recorded this was simple. Look at the song title, listen to the beat, write the first thing that comes to mind, record it, play next beat, repeat. I wrote a verse on the first thing that came to mind no matter how stupid or serious it was and this one is most def the former. I wanted to do a lot more dumb shit to the some but since I only had a weekend to knock it out I didnt have time. Donwill on the guest verse & hook

08 Stay With Me featuring Elucid2:50
E Gutta and I reminice on some good hood shit

09 Take It Off 1:42
okay lightning round cuz this type of thing doesn't really work with ongs you halfway freestyled anyway. plus I'm at work and I have some to do.

10 Keep It Playa Che Grand 4:02
Che Grand is a beast, I roll with dude cuz he keeps me on my toes. If I hadn't done this, he probably would have.

11 I Really Like You 3:13
silly shit, new jack swingin' to the oldies

12 Young Girl Takenya Quann 3:09
Taks and I play the age old game of "What's yo name?"

13 You Can Do It Too Cyren Young 5:22
No you can't. sorry for lying to you

if ya dig it. download it, p2p it, rip it, bootleg it, post it elsewhere, email, bit torrent it, whatever. and blog it, if you have a blog.

Current mood:  grateful
Due to the 9-5 Grind, the freelance grind and the music grind I don't have the time I'd like to respond to every message and comment I get from you fine folks out in myspace land so I wanted to send out a general thank you for all the good vibes, props and well wishes.

Thank you and keep them coming. This brass knuckle rap hustle can stress a nigga out some times and it feels good to know that people are listening to and appreciating what we at loosie are trying to share with the world. I'm not the type of dude that rhymes for the hell of it(ha), a little bit of fame(Ha) or some easy money(HA!). Every word in every bar is a part of me and it's good to know that those words don't fall on deaf ears. Keep your ears and eyes open though cuz loosie music has a lot coming your way in this month of my birth, including Brass Knucle Rap Hustle(finally), Champion Hoods and a fresh new video. So thank you again for all your support, it hasn't gone ignored or to waste as Loosie Music and I build toward the future.

Yours Forever,
Spec Boogie
