Last night was an incredible night for me.  I got to see Shane and Shane live again and I also got to hear a great new artist by the name of Phil Wickham!  Seriously, I was blown away.  All I could think while listening to him perform was "WOW"!

The whole evening was powerful and I felt such a freedom from a lot of things that have been weighing me down a lot lately.  It was great to have a whole night of worshipping the Lord corporately with other believers!

So, if you haven't guessed already I am huge fan of these guys and I think you should check them out!  You will never regret adding them to your playlists!

So, most of you know that I went to Florida this past weekend with my sister and parents to watch some Spring training baseball games.  I don't know if you all knew this but I like baseball a lot! :) It's one of those things in life I truly enjoy.
I thought I would share some of the stories with you all so that you can get a taste of the interesting experience I had this time.
My sister and I flew to Orlando on Friday where our parents were to pick us up at the airport.  Our flight was fine and we arrived in Orlando at 5pm.  It took us an hour to get our bag b/c Air Tran apparently decided that having nine flights at one baggage claim was a good idea…WRONG! :( Okay, so our parents finally pick us up and my mom is in a strange way excited for us to get to the hotel before dark…we were running a little behind so we didn't make it before dark…but what she was excited for us to see was lit up so it made the experience all the more fun for her.  We pull up to this 100 ft orange with a store below it to find out that is what is gracing our hotel parking lot!  We look out the window and we see a giant orange!  Julia and I of course were not sure what to think of this giant orange…so we decided to be sarcastic about it!  Needless to say that was not our favorite part of the trip!
The next morning we got up and met our aunt and uncle at Bob Evan's for breakfast and then off to our first official Spring training game.  We had a lot of fun at breakfast and I kept waiting for the sun to come out…it never did! Side note: I was the only one in shorts at the time and it was not warm!!!! I eventually caved and put on jeans.
The game was good…Detroit got pounded by the Indians.  I have a new favorite player with the Indians…Grady Sizemore!  I tried several times to get his autograph but I was always 1 minute too late…so close yet so far away!  I was trying to get the autograph for some friends who told me about him last week.  It's all-good…Julia helped me get an autograph from one of the other Indian players…Casey Blake…first base.  It was cool b/c he had an awesome play in one of the first innings of the second game we went to see…he had an unassisted double play.  There was one guy on first and the batter hit the ball straight to Blake who caught the ball and just turned slightly to tag the other player out.  If you are into baseball then you know that was a great play.
Julia and I left Florida on Sunday night and flew back home.  The first flight was great for me.   There was this guy sitting next to me and we started talking when the flight was about to land.  In the course of the conversation I found out that he and his wife are about to head out on a missions trip to Senegal in April.  It's the guys first missions trip and I think that's awesome.
Our trip did not end, as we would have liked.  We got to Charlotte on time but it took us an hour and half to get out of the airport and home.  This was at 1:30am!  Both Julia and I had to work the next day.  I was a zombie yesterday but today is looking better!
Pictures will be up soon!  Hopefully by Thursday evening!!!

So, last night as I was getting ready for the work week when I hear my parents and sister talk about a truck that had just parked across the street from our driveway.  The guy who was driving the truck parked it, got out and started running down the street and never returned.  My dad called the non emergency number for the police and had them come check it out.

I woke up this morning and the truck is still there but the police apparently came and searched it and searched the area.  They also put a note/sticker on the windshield as well.  My dad went out this morning to read the note and it said this..."next time you leave your vehicle behind don't leave your crack pipe sitting on the front seat"!!!!!!  Needless to say I have been laughing all morning!

I guess the lesson from this story is if you leave your vehicle somewhere, make sure the crack pipe goes with you!

So, I got this address book for Christmas and on the cover is a quote that I thought I would share with everyone.  I have been really wanting to live intentionally and truly follow after God and seek his heart for my life every day.  I went into Barnes and Nobles one night to look at address books b/c I am trying to get more organized and have everyone's addresses together.  I looked for quite a while and then hidden behind some of the other address books I found the perfect one for me...big enough for my messy hand writing and also with a quote that I thought fits into what I want my life to be like.

Here it is:

live with intention.

walk to the edge.

listen hard.

practice wellness.

play with abandon.

laugh.

choose with no regret.

continue to learn.

appreciate your friends.

do what you love.

live as if this is all there is.

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
This happens to be one of my favourite books. I am actually re-reading it (yes, re-reading it) b/c I haven't read it since high school. (I am a book worm...I know this and I am okay with it!) This book is probably one of the best books I have read. Besides Karen Kingsbury, Jane Austen is one of my favourite authors.
If you get the chance you should read this book!!!! :) Oh and the movie wasn't half bad either. :)
Just thought I would share that with everyone!

Lately it seems that life has had many twist and turns.  It is ebbing and flowing in directions I never thought possible.  Dreams of long ago are starting to become realities.  I am truly seeing God's hand in every thing.  Not that I haven't before but, I think my posture has been long in not listening like I should be everyday. I have begun to understand the cycles that I go through in life and in my walk with the Lord are just that...cylces.  I am constantly being renovated, changed from the inside out.  I know that those are some profound statements just written but, bear with me on this! :)
I was reading Psalm 4 this morning (and last night) and it was talking about the faithfulness of God's people.  I am trying to be faithful in my walk with the Lord. I find that I struggle with different disciplines and with my prayer life.  Especially when I get to the point that I am afriad to pray b/c what if I pray and the very thing that I know to be true in my heart becomes a reality.  I guess I am afraid at times of the next step. Am I the only one that at times afraid of what the next step and afraid of praying?  Who knows...

On Saturday my sister and I had to take our dad to the ER b/c he was having chest pains.  He thought it was either a heart attack or a pulled muscle but with his history of heart problems we wanted to be on the safe side and take him to the ER to get checked out.  It was an interesting experience to say the least.  When we first got there we watched the nurses sit around for 5 minutes talking about what plans they had going on for the weekend and then finally one of them asked if we were there to get checked out...NO...that would be our dad who has is complaining of chest pains and is waiting on you to go get his vital signs!  Needless to say I was not impressed whatsoever with the staff at the hospital he went to this weekend.  Usually they are very attentive and try to get things done but this time it was ridiculous.  Our dad is fine and apparently it was nothing much b/c the doctor never came in to see him.  I am very happy and praise the Lord that nothing was serious!

Anyway, that's not really the point of this blog...while I was sitting in the waiting room I saw lots of people flow in and out.  Some were crying, some were sitting with a blank stare on their faces and others were wheeling around in their wheel chairs not sure what to do next.  There was one little boy and a young woman that stuck out to me the most while sitting there.  The boy was probably 10 or 11 and he was crying with no one there to comfort him.  I don't know if he was crying over a family member or a friend.  All I know is in that moment when I saw him stand at one side of the waiting room alone and crying I wanted to go and hug him.

The young woman I saw on Sunday had been called into the ER b/c either her boyfriend/fiance/husband had most likely been in a bad accident.  She walked around crying and she tried to sit down and be calm but she quickly got back up.  The lady that sits at the information desk finally came back and this young woman went straight to her and they started talking.  They exchanged information and then the lady handed the young woman a bag of the guys belongings that were taken from the scene of the accident.  When the woman got the bag is when I really wanted to just run up to her and hug her and let her cry on my shoulder.  Even though I was there for my dad I know that I had an opportunity to pray for these particular people that stood out to me.  Even though I don't know them I know they will be seared into my memory for a long time.

So, earlier today I was talking with my sister and she told me that she had asked a friend of hers last night where she thought Somoans were from and her friend responded with this: "from Somoania"!

I thought Somoans were from Somoa but that's just my guess! :)

Hopefully this made you laugh like it did for me!

Last night at Bible study after a great time of prayer and worship I was reminded of a scripture in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22.   Rejoicing always, praying with out ceasing.  It seems lately that a lot of people are going through many different situations.  That scripture was such an encouragement to me last night knowing that I need to continue to pray and lift up every situation and lay them at the foot of the cross.
