A real radio station with real people playing real music...because they like it. What a foreign concept. No mention of corporate sponsorship or being soiled by the Clear Channel concept. The benefit was fun, well attended and populated by some really diverse performers. My hands down favorite was a fellow who played accordian, auto harp and some kind of home made tone generator that he sang along to. Brilliant. At the end we had a little impromtu jam that took the world and shook it upside down. I got to play with the accordian genius. We had a real good, real real time. Let's hope WGXC can cast some light on the darkness of the FM dial.

Hey alright! Thank you all for coming out, wow what a great night! Place was full, there was a buffet with Halloween goodies for everyone, we had fun. Three long sets wasn't enough for folks, I got called a pussy for wanting to stop after three and a half bloody sweat soaked hours! Can you believe it!?! And I didn't have a tampon! Jeez! Wasn't sure if you folks were gonna find the Fernwood okay, she's tucked away pretty good. It's becoming one of our favorite places. If you haven't been there you should come check it out. Again there was some very funny and very scary outfits/people. People think you ought to know who the hell they are when they are unrecognizable, why is that? I didn't know anyone! So if I didn't talk to you it's your own fault! Or if I said anything weird, it wasn't mine!

Well hot damn, we had a good time, good turn out, thank you. We had our own PA with us so it sounded better to me. A lot of crazy looking costumes hangin' on a lot of crazy lookin' people. Our friends Full On opened the night. They are my new favorite local band. They rock. Pitchfork played three sets, going to the wee hours. We made only one mistake...we gave someone a ride home who was too fucked up to tell us where she lived and when we tried to put her up for the night...well let's just say the wives don't see it like we do, and it was a bad idea in the end to try and do the right thing. Being the sober guy I am, I feel like I should drive all of you home, but next time this happens, no seat in the truck without an address, phone number and a map quest printout with directions to where you live!

What a great place for a hoedown. Perched under the "Giant Oak Tree" was a small stage and a big tent, everywhere you looked were apple trees absolutely pregnant with ripe fruit. It was far enough into the orchard to promote an ancient druidic feeling of being one with your natural surroundings. I felt like diggin' a hole and sleepin' the whole winter there. The sound system sounded great outside, my voice rang like a bell. I opened the night for Jeff Entin's band who were very cool and very smooth. The only things missing were a big ol' bonfire and a hunnerd people yellin' our names! Thanks for being there.

The Militia would like to thank everybody for such a fine season of bloody mayhem. Last night was no different, we had a great time, electricity was in the air, and Jason's has a good PA system with my good friend John Fay running it so it is so much easier to fly. It was Matty's birthday, I think he got a few spanks, and the after party was fun, what a great space. Let's all get together and do it again soon! Peace.

Now who would believe it if they read these blogs and every one of them says "we blew the roof off" and "we were tearin' it up" and "goddam! we had a blast"? But damn if the Malisha didn't do it again. Blew the motherfuckin' ROOF RIGHT OFF! We've been honin' this shit all summer, and it is as sharp as a razor's edge. (with a few nicks on the blade from inappropriate use) Broke eight guitar strings last night-a record. Every one of the six and two of them twice. No reason to wonder why my pick finger fingernail needs constant glue and repair. The crowd was great, thank you all for making it so much fun. There were so many birthdays last night that it was just one big party with a cake. Three sets of smokin' hot Malisha. How'd you like how the spirits used me like a puppet on How Many More Times? Complete possession. A sleeping subconscious monster awoke for a minute. Hope it didn't scare you, I know Karl and Joe were wondering what the hell was going on. I pray to make that kind of connection. That is my God. I heard on break someone mention a possible heart attack, well let me tell you, when I'm in that zone, I am protected, somewhere else, right there, and you are witnessing something somewhat unexplainable. If I could maintain it I could live forever. So could you, let's do it more often.

Left town at 5 PM, got home at 5AM, played 39 minutes plus 2 encores, made 18 dollars, and sold 5 CDs. Why do we do it? Cuz it's fun! We went with the 5 Points Band, they got the gig and led the way, carpooling to Brooklyn,. We had a major gas leak in our vehicle, right next to the tailpipe. When we got to the place we didn't know if we were in Brooklyn or postwar Moscow. Some of us feared for our safety, some of us feared for our lives. The promised drum set and amplifier backline was a beat up old kick drum, some broken cymbal stands and the 2 biggest pieces of crap solid state guitar amps the world has ever seen. But there we were in the BIG CITY, we jumped and sweat and truelly had a great time. In the back, an alley closed at both ends with some kind of makeshift roof over part of it, there was some drug induced electronica amidst what appeared to be a scene from Sanford and Son. Nothing but loud noise and static, blinking lights and piles of metal junk, but who's ever seen anything like it? 5 Points bought us dinner at the Stateline Diner to make it up to us, and I can't remember laughing that hard. It was so late that the food started resembling very inedible things, and by the time we were done we had all been laughing so long that we couldn't even remember what we were laughing about, the ribs just kept that chuckler going. Some folks we know came to see us and an old friend of mine from college showed up too, so we were among friends. We had a GOOD TIME.

Fuckin' Ay Right! Snug fucking Harbor! It's been four or five years since we played Snug's and man I forgot how much I liked it there. The room sounds good and it's easier to play when it sounds good. And GODDAM! We were on fire! FIRE! I tell you. You pretty girls were like a spritz of gasoline too, watch the monkey jump! Three sets tearin' it down, buildin' it up, tearin' it down again. The damage to my pick finger is rather intense. I broke the fingernail in half and then three songs later tried to pull that half right off. EEEEYOW! With a pingpong ball and some super glue, I'll be back in action before you know it. To all of you who came out, stayed, and for all your kind words, I really can't thank you enough, it's what keeps us doing it. It's like a tonic to my wounds. I hope you all had fun, sure looked like you did. I know I did. Thanks, see you soon.

Wow, they really did it up. Clams, Mussels, Crawdads, Steak, Pork, Chickens...man you name it, they had the MEAT! And tho I'm rather fat free these days, I gained in protein what I had sweat out in water. That's a good trade. We had a good time, once some people left after our first set, we really got down to business and if you stayed for the second set, I'll bet you saw the diff. The weather this weekend was just as perf as it gets. The Fernwood is a great place to hang on the porch, hope you had as good a time as we did. Thanks for coming...next up - Snug Harbor!
