Hey! I just posted a song called Knitting Needles.

It is about prison life for poor women who were incarcerated for attempting dangerous self-abortions. This practice included inserting knitting needles or coat hangers into the vagina and uterus, douching with dangerous solutions like lye, or swallowing strong drugs or chemicals in the late 1800s when abortion was illegal. These women were subject to desperation, shame, and fear created by the criminalization of abortion.

It is about a woman who swallowed 1,446 different objects in a psychiatric hospital in Missouri around the early 1900's.

Sorry speak so abstractly and beautifully. That just came to me just this second. That is what happens when you are a writer.
Now I am back in Brooklyn. I am going to work for the NBA. Yes, basketball. I feel a little disoriented. What is my place in this dadgum, crazy world?
Last night I cried and my amazing Pomeranian woke up from her fluffy slumber and ferociously licked the tears off my face. Then she stuck her tongue into my giant nose and I think she licked my brain. It was just what I needed.
