So I'm living in Wisconsin now, I've been away from Tucson for three years and I miss all my fave local bands. I wanted to listen to some Winelord but I lost my cd and I emailed Jessica. This was like Friday and today when I got home from work, I had my Winelord cd. Thank you so much Jessica, and to Stubbs and Polly, I love you guys; do a midwest tour.

The Karate Kid, Back to the Future, Adventures in babysitting, better off dead, Anything James Spader was in, and so many others. All of these movies had one thing in common that made them great. The blonde A-hole character, often a fratboy, a jock or just some dick with an Iroc Z and a solid coke connection. Where have all these great characters gone and why aren't the blonde A-hole character utilized more in movies nowadays? The eighties had many but the Ruth/Gehrig of the bunch are definitely William "Billy" Zabka and James Spader. If it were up to me, there would be a special wing in the film HOF for these guys for there selfless work as the guy everyone hated. They're the hardest villain to play because they're not weilding an ax, hiding their package while dancing naked draped in some dead chick's skin or something that takes no talent whatsoever like chasing teens around the woods with a hockey mask. These are actors that are experts in the subtleties of douchebaggery; they're the Anthony Hopkins and Robert DeNiro of their genre. It's a lost art and there aren't many like the greats anymore; like baseball, it was better in the eighties. I think there might be at least one guy working now that has what it takes be the Spader/Zabka of his generation. From the movies "Accepted" and "transformers", Travis Van Winkle. He's blonde, he's a cock and he looks like he came out of a test tube in Herman Goering's lab. Help in celebrating the greats and please add to the list I'm compiling for the Blonde A-hole Hall of Fame. Initial inductees include: William Zabka: Back to school, just one of the guys, Karate kid. James Spader: Pretty in Pink, less than zero Tom Wilson: the back to the future series Ted McGinley: Revenge of the nerds Leif Garret: the outsiders There are so many others so please help and add to the list. Kobra Kai forever!!!!

...because we had our first noise complaint last night at practice; and there was only three of us too. It was the punk trio version of mister bitchez. As usual, I had an outstanding bench warrant for some pot related ticket (anyone surprised?) so I had to go with the officer and take care of that. He didn't cuff me though which wasn't very punk;( Next time I'll remember to at least fall on the ground and scream "you're not taking me alive COpppaaaah"!!! We also found out that Scot knows "best of both worlds" by Hannah Montana so I guess we could play that until Billy Ray Mullett sues us.

I'm officially done with the American media; not just Foxnews; American media outlets in general. In fact there's only one mass media outlet that is doing their job; the E entertainment channel.
If you turn on CNN, Fox, MSNBC they're full of soft news and sensationalized stories (Anna Nicole Smith, celeb party girls and whose coupling with who) and of course when they do actually get into politics it's the same three or four polarizing issues that keep the garden variety American,IE: Republicrats, yapping about emotionally charged issues like abortion or personal rights issues like gun rights or gay rights; neither of which is anyone's business except of course the gay gun owner.
And let's not forget the Imus, luckily he's an insensitive prick, it gave the American media and irrelevant since the early nineties hypocrites like Jesse Jackson something to yap about for a week or so. Wow, lucky for O'Reilly and Nancy Grace some 51/50 grad student at Vtech flipped his bitchswitch or the news outlets may have had to revisit Natalie Holloway: Aruba two years later...
And that brings me to the E entertainment channel, the only media outlet in America that's doing their job. They're reporting on Anna Nicole Smith, Lindsay Lohan, who's Brad, Jen, George, Leo, Ben and Matt banging at the moment, who's Angelina adopting this week? Yes, I ripped Fox, CNN, etc for reporting on the same stories; the difference is that Echannel is supposed to report on fluff and celebs. That's their job and props to them for doing it; I hope their brethren in the "legitimate" media can learn from them. Until then I'll stick to the BBC for news.

Current mood: aggravated
So as per usual, every Christmas time, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter and the rest of the whining pundits from the right are on their "war on Christmas" kick again. It's how I know it's really the holiday season nowadays, taking the place of the first snowfall. This year though O'Reilly wrote a whole book about it, covering more than just the war on Christmas though. He's claiming himself to be the "Culture Warrior". I should first say that I agree with a lot of what he says only I think that the right and left on these issues are equally to blame for their self indulgent attitudes towards the way society worships/doesn't worship or the way they celebrate during the holiday season. My issue is the use of the word "war". We have people dying everyday in a real war and these jaggoffs dilute the power of that word when they use it to describe a national debate. The worst part about it is how hypocritical they are. Athletes have used the word war to describe a game in recent years and have been raked over the coals by the Hannity's/ O'Reilly's for belittling the contributions of our troops. A couple of years ago, Kellen Winslow Jr. was amped up after a game and used various metaphors for war in a postgame interview and was widely ripped by the media. He's 22 and coming off an adrenaline rush, what's O'Reilly's excuse? He wrote a book, sent it to the publisher, had it editted, time enough for that "typing adrenaline" to wear off yet it's ok for him and his cohorts to use war metaphors but when an athlete does it, they're being insensitive! Well here's my contribution to the "culture war". I don't like either side, you pi.ss on the fun of the majority of clear thinking Americans with your self righteous, martyristic whining. Stay away pu#$ies! You may be putting a dent in the 1st amendment but last I checked the 2nd is still applicable.

Category: News and Politics
...So I watch way too much news, especially faux. I'm sure you've all heard that Christianity is under attack in this country. Stories exagerated and/or planted by the media about this so called war on Christianity is what will cause things to possibly escalate to that level. Is there a war on Christianity? Of course not; until you float that idea into the heads of people who follow a religion based on the teachings of a martyr "attacked" and killed for his religious teachings. Attacking people for their religious beliefs is evil and shouldn't be tolerated; and neither should the exploitation of religion by our media for political gain.
On the other hand, I've seen negative stories about Myspace on fox"news" contantly the past couple months; strange since Murdock bought myspace. To hear them tell it, myspace is full of a bunch of forty year old pervs trying to hook up with fifteen yearolds by telling them they're the drummer for deathcab for cutie. Sean Hannity, et al, shut the fuck up. You're just jealous because you didn't have an internet option when you were a kid and in some crappy Winger tribute band that even your Mom thought sucked. If you did, you could've started myspace.com/kipwingerrulez so everyone could hear your crap. So leave me alone Foxnews so I can put my lame music on myspace; an homage to quiet riot done in an industrial/hiphop fusion style.

...On 4/14 the "TAX THIS" show. It's not just the bands; cancer brides, line of fire (buy their cd, they're leaving for tour the next day) the besmirchers and either the cuntifiers or fanns (it depends on which band that diva Jerod wants to play with that night)
It's also comedy, improv, dancing and spinning from freerock starting at eight, we'll have local improv group, streetprov performing and a few local comics plus music by freerock.
So eight to ten-thirty is comedy; come out and support it. We all support local music but not enough support to local comedy in this town so lets try something new and see some funny. We'll promise not to say "git er done" if you come... and you'll get a free stamp for the post 10:30 music show. |

...'cause apparently I booked "skinhead" bands the other night and some of the "master race" graced us with their presence. (apparently they haven't all "mastered" ducking when a punch is thrown their way) I guess I'm not up on the whole skinhead thing but then again, I still say "colored's & honky's" so I'm just behind all over. I guess there's like nine kinds of skinheads and only a couple are racist so I shouldn't be so judgemental; well I am. If you have to wear the same clothes as your friends when you go out, and you're not a cop, on a softball team or selling me thinmints, then you're a jaggoff. And if you come to our studio with a swastika, start a fight and scream racial slurs at our guests (and not in a funny way) then you're a jaggoff that's probably gonna get hit with a mike stand on your way out the door.
And if you claim to be a "gay nazi for christ" (you know who you are little blonde, Cobain looking fucker) then you'll get kicked out and have a comedy bit written about you.
