"It’s Always Christmas Time” -a collaborative carol from Al Jourgensen (Ministry, RevCo) and Mark Gemini Thwaite (The Mission UK, Peter Murphy, Mob Research)

Of the collaboration with Jourgensen, guitarist MarkGT offers, "Recently, Al invited me to the 13th Planet compound to record guitars on some of the new RevCo material Al’s producing.  He then invited me to collaborate on his first ever 'solo' project, which is surprisingly radio friendly. It feels like home for me as Paul Raven was a close mutual friend of ours - and we both feel his spirit smiling down on our union!"

The song can be downloaded from Amazon and iTunes - links below - and a Special Limited Edition hand-numbered and autographed cd of “It’s Always Christmas Time” will be available exclusively through the 13th Planet web-store..

JOURGENSEN SPECIAL GUEST ARTISTS AT CHICAGO AND NEW YORK SHOWS

September 28, 2009
While his prodigal step-child, RevCo is out on the North American LuBriCaTouR promoting the upcoming 13th Planet release “Sex-O MiXXX-O”, Uncle Al Jourgensen has hooked up with guitarist Mark Thwaite (Mission UK, Peter Murphy, Tricky, Mob Research) in the studio, collaborating on several projects simultaneously. Jourgensen and Thwaite, both long-time friends of Killing Joke/Ministry bassist Paul Raven, who passed away October 20, 2007, joined forces recently at Jourgensen’s 13th Planet compound in Texas on RevCo projects and another Jourgensen side project.

Thwaite brings his remix skills to RevCo’s upcoming “Sex-O MiXXX-O” on Abundant Redundancy (Dambuster Metalmorphosis Mix), to be released digital only as a bonus supplement to the physical release. Thwaite’s previous remix credits include Gary Numan, Methodman and Licky to name a few.

Additionally, Thwaite collaborated with Ministry/RevCo guitarist Sin Quirin on Filthy Senoritas, for the upcoming RevCo release slated for Spring 2010.

But the crowning jewel of the Jourgensen/Thwaite collaboration is the newly penned as yet untitled Christmas Song to be released via digital download exclusively this Thanksgiving. 13th Planet will release a digital stream of the track October 20th, 2009 to celebrate the memory of their “favorite pirate” Paul Raven on Ministry’s Myspace www.myspace.com/ministrymusic.

Also check out this new interview with Al Jourgensen in LA Weekly where he discusses his future plans and working with Thwaite:
LA Weekly Interview with Al Jourgensen

Al Jourgensen: "I'm working on a solo record right now, which is not metal at all. I'm working on it with Mark Thwaite from Mission U.K. He's playing guitar with Peter Murphy right now. Me and him are doing my solo record and it's really poppy stuff. All the metalheads are going to be like "This sucks!" Whatever. We're having fun with it. I'm really happy with it. Mark just left today. He went to LA because he has to go on tour with Peter Murphy. He'll be back in November and then we start on it again. We have one song done that's a Christmas song. It's really uplifting, Merry Christmas to everyone, you fuckers. It's good. As a matter of fact, that's going to be released on iTunes on December 1. Ministry's first Christmas song"

In tandem, RevCo’s performance October 20th in Jacksonville, FL will host a video collage of Paul Raven’s life by long-time friend, Dean Karr at the RevCo LuBriCaTouR show. New live photos by Steffan Chirazi of RevCo’s San Francisco show can be seen here [link and/or graphic] Jourgensen joins his band of merry freaks, RevCo, for Special Guest Artists on October 6th in Chicago at House of Blues and October 17th at NYC’s Irving Plaza.

RevCo’s LuBriCaTouR featuring Jim Rose, Blownload and Left Spine Down is part of Live Nations Club Passport campaign http://promo-img.livenation...com/lnus/clubpassport/

Fabryka Magazine Interview with MGT

MGT discusses touring with Peter Murphy and The Mission UK, his recent recording with Al Jourgensen and RevCo, his remix work, and the Mob Research album release..

On a short stopover from Tucson to the Secret Cover Tour show in Austin, the Peter Murphy band dropped by the compound to say hello, eat Tex Mex and drink! Of course Uncle Al Jourgensen (who is in the studio now with guitarist Sin Quirin finalizing the NEW! Revolting Cocks release, as yet untitled) immediately put everyone to work in the studio.

Uncle Al with guitarist Mark Gemini Thwaite (The Mission, Tricky, Peter Murphy and Mob Research).  Mark laid down some guitar trax for the new RevCo.  We had some great chats about our mutual friend, Paul Raven, as Mark collaborated with Raven on the Mob Research project which is out NOW! http://www.myspace.com/mobresearch69
A great tribute to the late, great Raven.

"This is a rock and industrial flamethrower - fucking colossal." 8/10 Metal Hammer... full review below...

.

"WITH A collective CV that takes in Killing Joke, Ministry, Warrior Soul, Tricky and QOTSA, LA-based quartet Mob Research were never really likely to be an emo band. Fronted by Kory Clarke and featuring the late Killing Joke bassist Paul Raven, their debut album comes across like an updated version of Warrior Soul’s classic Last Decade Dead Century album, with Clarke raging about ‘corporate fascist tyranny’, ’pigs’ and ‘dead cities’ over dense, doomy layered industrial noise. This is troubled music for troubled times, but not without humour: the Terminator Meltdown Mix of Wambulance features Christian Bale’s infamous on-set freak-out in all its sweary glory. Dedicated to Raven’s memory, this is a worthy epitaph for an inspirational character...If fame were a byproduct of charisma rather than record sales, then Kory Clarke would be bigger than God, Satan and David Beckham rolled into one" - Kerrang! magazine ..

"Holy City Zoo’ is a classic album that stands out and will be recognized the most with its upbeat tempos and fast racing music sending your heart and mind into overdrive!" ReflectionsofDarkness.com

"THE surprise album of the year. Kicking rock songs for the ultimate adrenalin rush!“  Blackheart-Zone.de

“Holy City Zoo” is a savage ride with dirty, Industrial edge, by the sunniest landscapes of MINISTRY, KILLING JOKE and also FILTER. One of the surprises of the year!" 8/10 www.metal.de
