F.E.M.- So, Priceless, what motivates you to do what you do?
Priceless - I've always loved listening to music. I'm a big music fan. I'm writing and I'm always hearing new things. I'm a producer first off, and secondly a lyricist so I'm always trying new things. I'm making moves creatively!
F.E.M.- I like how you integrate production into your lifestyle! So what's your inspiration for making these beats?
Priceless - Well, I want to take people away, a journey into another reality, away from our normal lives. My kits over the years have developed from layering sounds from different instruments. I try in my soundscapes to get people out of reality into another dimension. My motivation is to get people out this world when they listen to my beats.
F.E.M. - Nice, How long is this journey?
Priceless - About 3-4 minutes. When you're making music, it's like you're not even there, you're somewhere else, so you know, for like 3-4 minutes we get out of our 20 something hour reality. I really just want to take people away when I'm making music.
F.E.M. - Wow, I see you're really passionate. Who do you see yourself working with as an artist?
Priceless - I see myself working with artists who have the same goals as mine. I want to make a good environment for people when I make my music. I just want people to feel music as much as I feel for the music. You know, when you hear a new song, you get excited, it makes me feel excited and I want to share that excitement with people. Wheb you hear a jump-off, and you want to share that experience. I just want to be part of that movement and as you listen to my beats; I'll take you on that journey.
F.E.M. - Fresh! So what's the best reward for creating music?
Priceless - The reaction you get when they listen to your music. That's the best reward. It's like they listen to the beat and then they go, "Whoa, that's hot." That's the greatest reward.
F.E.M. - So then, who specifically are your inspirations as an artist?
Priceless - Well, I'm always going to give respect to The Neptunes and Timbaland. I love Ryan Leslie's work. I've always admired Kanye West for being able to combine his talents to become one of the best producers and best lyricists out right now. I'm a big Jay-Z, Talib, Common and Nas fan too.
F.E.M. - So are you working on any new projects right now?
Priceless - I did a couple of promotional joints for ESQ. Also, I produced the single "My Time" by Romance. I worked on Manistyles EP. I got a track on there, It's called "Like I do." I've been doing lot's of production work for other people.
F.E.M. Yeah, I know what you mean. So tell me, what inspirations would you tell our future generation Y people?
Priceless - Life is a journey, There's something out there for everyone. If you have something you want to do, go for it! Don't stop doing what you do. There's something out there for you. Don't stop searching because you're gonna find that thing you're looking for.
F.E.M. Word fam, word... Now, If you were on a rocketship to Mars for 4 years, and all you had to take with you were 5 cd's. what cd's would they be?
