So, there's a previously unreleased Nebraska track on the new Love Music Hate Racism compilation cd. It's called 'New Uniform' and you can't get it anywhere else.
Also on the cd are mighty talents such as Dexy, Ten City Nation and, yes, Jacob's Mouse (sweet).
You need to go here:
http://www.repeatfanzine.co.uk/
then click on the link of a stick figure dumping a swastika in a litter bin to get the info on ordering your copy - it's only £3 including postage!
There will also be copies available at our London and Cambridge shows on, respectively, the 14th and 15th of this week.
If you are coming along to the 12 Bar on Thursday please be aware that it looks like it may sell out so try, try, try to come along early (before 8pm).
It's only £5 entry but the profits are going to Love Music Hate Racism so no complaints eh?
See you in the funny pages.

Afternoon all,
it's  been a while so just thought I would update you on recent goings-on:
We're in the middle of a stretch of acoustic shows that so far have been at the least, interesting and, in last night's case, extremely pleasing.
The next is at one of our local pubs in Blackheath, O'Neills, this coming Sunday afternoon.
Last night's set-list ran as follows:

1/ The Path to the Silent Country
2/ Time Is the Teacher That Kills Its' Students
3/ Hymns And Sunglasses
4/ Dexy Says
5/ The Replacements
6/ Atlantic City

So yeah, all brand new stuff and a cover that got me so nervous I forgot or misplaced the words on three seperate occasions! It really was a blast though, and a truly satisfying experience to get all that new music out there in the world then get drunk with our friends in the garden.
We woulda played a couple more but broken strings and time restrictions got the better of us.
Expect at least another two or three new titles to be thrown into the sets in coming weeks along with more, yes, that's it, Goofy Covers (c).
In other news we have some new recordings knocking about. Two brand new tunes are on the interweb and you'll find 'em if you look hard enough or think laterally;
Another will be used as part of a forthcoming 'Love Music Hate Racism' compilation which will be out soon, but you'll have to buy it to get the track as it won't be available anywhere else for some time to come.
Enough waffle.

Hello internet journeyers,

How goes your colourful lives?

Apart from making up new words, we have been running around like good little worker bee's as of late.  'The Great Divide' vinyl single's are nearly sold out so  get 'em while you can. To those who have already purchased a copy, ta, you are beautiful in every single way.

Those city slickers at the Indy Awards may have a trophy to give us inscribed 'Best Alternative Act' all thanks to a nomination from the Music Tourist Board (they are bloody wicked good). This is way cool for us. To be an active part of the underground music scene can be a tough job and gets little recognition. To be acknowledged for it is quite humbling.

So why not vote and give us teary eyes! Follow the link below and simply type in your email address then confirm from that account. We've been assured you won't be signed up to a shit tonne of junk mail for doing so. You can only vote once per email address. If you have a few, use 'em all. If you have mates, use them too, that's what their there for.

http://www.indyawards.co.uk/2008/artist_voting.php?artists=N

Please vote so that we can all tell our mum's we won an award. And that the money their sending does have a purpose.

If you read this, we thank you. If you read AND voted, we're prepared to thank you at our next show personally from the stage or in the toilet for free bj's.

The ultimate face-off.

Anyway...
Our lone February gig takes place at the legendary Windmill, Blenheim Gardens, Brixton on Wednesday 27th. Doors are at 8pm and we are on EARLY - probably 8.30pm.
Entry is £5.
Also playing will be
www.myspace.com/grandpocketorchestra who are over from Dublin and are, it must be said, extremely good.
For those of you needing to use the Victoria Line to get home - have no fear, we'll be finished with time for a couple of beverages before they stop running.
Travel: Brixton tube, ten minutes walk up Brixton Hill OR
Brixton tube and get any one of a number of buses at the first bus stand on your left - get off by the FUNERAL PARLOUR.

Aside from that, the vinyl copies of our single 'The Great Divide' are selling rather swiftly.
You can grab one here:
www.angryliberalrecords.co.uk
here:
www.nebraskamusic.co.uk
and as a download on i-tunes.

If you are 'lucky' enough to be a Londoner then head to Rough Trade or Puregroove for a delectable slice of marble vinyl.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to all those that made our launch night such a fantastic event. It was genuinely stunning to have a packed Bar Academy give us such a great response.
We owe you, right?

There are facebook groups for both the single and this upcoming gig, so head over, join up and search us out!

Hello Blog readers,

I wonder when and where you're reading this? Perhaps at a desk in an office? Or maybe early in the morning before you've even had your cereal and cigarette? Or maybe you're like me and do everything at night, when I feel im at my best? I'll cease with the rhetoricals.

Anywaaaaaay, someones had too much coffee...it's me, i've had too much coffee. I hope all is well. Just a quick reminder that "The Great Divide" single launch is this Saturday (26th) @Islington Bar Academy. Nearest tube is Angel & tickets are only £4 through http://www.ticketweb.co.uk/user?query=search&region=xxx&category=misc&search=feeling+gloomy&x=0&y=0

The line-up is fantastic, Ten City Nation, Dexy & the Hand Me Downs, Their Hearts Were Full of Spring and our good selves playing many the treat. With a club night till 2am afterwards I don't see why anyone won't want to be there being drunk with us all?!!

And now to end on a downer. I heard Heath Ledger passed away today. It's so completely tradgic. What the hell's going on? Last week Brad Renfro and now this...Think im gonna add a little whiskey to this coffee and pray that the new year starts to pick up.

Remember. Saturday. Be there. It'll rock. Thats when it'll start to pick up.

Hello people that still use MySpace,

With some good press appearing in the, um, press, we thought it prudent to let you have a listen to our forthcoming single, The Great Divide. The version we have posted here for your listening pleasure is the radio edit - a slightly shorter, more radio-friendly version, which will hopefully persuade numerous DJs up and down the country to belt it out on their shows. Which is I'm sure exactly what will happen.

It's out on January 28th 2008 with A Burial on the B Side and a free downloadable track , Underwater Congregation, thrown in for good measure. There's a massive party at The Islington Bar Academy on Saturday 26th January to celebrate its launch and we'll give you more details closer to the time.

Happy listening,

Nebraska

At the end of a week in which my hometown was declared on national television to be one of the five worst places to live in the entirety of the UK, I singularly failed to find an NHS dentist anywhere in London (sorry Richie) and realised i'd lost my copy of Jesse Malin's last album you'd think i'd come on here to piss and moan.
Not the case my friends as
1/ I already knew that Merthyr Tydfil was a bad place to live (even though i love the place)
2/ I own pliers, and
3/ Dex can copy it for me

There's also a much larger reason to be cheerful in that we now have a release date for our single...JANUARY 28th 2008....is when the mighty 'The Great Divide' will drop, like an affectionate bomb onto i-tunes, into indie stores and HMVs across this fair isle.
There will be only 500 physical copies for sale, all on delicious marble-coloured vinyl with 'A Burial' on the b-side and a FREE download only track 'Underwater Congregation' available with each copy.
We are yet to make a definitive decision on artwork but suffice to say, we have a selection of amazing stuff to choose from thanks to our good friends Pete, Dave and Lucy.

We're incredibly excited about this and we'll be filming part of the video for 'The Great Divide' at the ULU gig next Sunday 28th. If you have any footage of us then throw it our way and if you don't, then come and make some!
We're gonna be intercutting the pro filmed footage with digital stuff, cameraphone stuff, old footage etc. in an old-school kind of way so get involved friends.
Contact us through Myspace or facey-bs if you fancy getting in on it.

Further reasons to be cheerful:

An Albatross - go to youtube and search on their name, select 'live in Philadelphia' - Holy Moly.

Mark Kozelek quadruple white vinyl live box set...hmmmmm....drooly...available from Caldo Verde records.

Michael Moore. I don't give a fuck what the makers of 'Manufacturing Dissent' say, he's one of the most important cultural figures of the last decade and almost single-handedly made left-wing politics appealing to a younger generation. I don't think it matters if he's a bit of a dick.

Springsteen - Magic. Exactly, says, does, tin.

Enjoy the sunny cold

Hello Nebraskans,
I know it's been a good long while since i posted up on here but i do have many, many excuses some of which are even partially genuine.
But let's not concern ourselves with minuitae at the minute (see what i did there, careful reader?), let's focus on my lovely band.
Well, we went into the studio, laid down the bare bones for six brand new songs and fleshed out the three that will be appearing on our forthcoming single through Angry Liberal records before Christmas.
The single will run as follows :
A/ The Great Divide
B/ A Burial
with the third, or 'C' track if you will, being 'Underwater Congregation' which will be available as a free download when you purchase the VINYL ONLY physical release of the single.
Of course, we are fully aware of the tragedies of modern culture and the fact that very few people have record players any more so when you buy the record you will also receive a DOWNLOAD CODE which will enable you to not only receive the 'bonus' track but also the A and B-sides too.
If you're looking for a RINGTONE then please, for the love of all that is good, look somewhere else.
We're working on a little video clip to accompany The Great Divide at the moment (keep filming the shows and giving us copies please!) and there is some conjecture about a 'narrative' video for A Burial in the future...probably quite far in the future considering that we've got £4.20 between us at the moment.
We're playing a few London shows in the next couple of months but are on the lookout for OUT OF TOWN SHOWS and a suitable venue for our single launch - any suggestions? Knock 'em this way.
We'd love to see as many faces as possible (bring your torsos too, mind) at the ULU gig on October 28th as it's a HUGE one for us and we'll be doing some fancy Hi-Def filming of people, places and things at the show.
I'll be putting up the lyrics to the aforementioned songs on my personal 'space in the next few days for those that have even a passing interest and we'll have the full and complete release details up on here within the next week or so.
ADRIAN HALL has, as ever, done an incredible job with the recording of the single and i think you'll all (hopefully) agree that the new material is a great step forward from last year's debut album.
In the meantime, there's a live clip of ANOTHER new song 'New Uniform' up on YouTube here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_Dj5tD8Dbk
We'd love to know what you think.
In a tribute to blogs past i would like to tell you what we have mostly been doing in recent weeks: Passing driving tests, making deals involving kitshare and alcohol, getting cool jobs, reading about Bill Hicks (again), getting Springsteen tickets, watching Dexy cover Prince tunes at the Marathon Bar, not fighting in the Marathon Bar, feeling all Autumnal, writing, eating more vegetables, missing people, not sleeping EVER, feeling maudlin, getting excited.
Here's a couple of links that have nothing to do with the band whatsoever but are extremely entertaining:

http://www.tv-links.co.uk/listings/4/9296
this is a '70s movie called 'The Baby' that will simultaneously nauseate and entertain you.

Hello people who are reading this,

First off, we've been busy, there, I said it, I just came right out and said it, no fucking around, busy. Not the working day jobs, paying rent kinda bullshit busy, I mean the band has been busy doing band things. The details of which shall be in our next blog, suffice to say we are happy, excited & chuffed!

There's been a few problems with the hometownjam website as of late, so orders of the album have been slightly delayed. This will be sorted as soon as possible. If you wish to order the album for yourself or a loved one or a stranger, please send us a message to this myspace account.

This week our thoughts and prayers are with Michael who lost someone very close to him. We wish him and his family many sympathies at this difficult time.

Thanks for listening & staying tuned.
