Current mood:  hopeful
Sooooooo,

Before I start in with what's new in the This Can't Be My Life world, I would like to apologize for being all kinds of M.I.A. on this site. My world has been......interesting. Having said that, I thought you guys would like to know what's happening with the show. The first episode was selected for the San Diego Black Film Festival in February of this year. YAY!!! We were also nominated for best comedy for that same festival. Pics and details from that festival will be up soon (I promise..?)

You know (well most of you know) how the strangest things keep happening to me? So, a couple of weeks ago we got a message from the Hollywood Black Film Festival, that said
"Attached, you will find your letter regarding your acceptance status". There was, however, no letter attached to the message. We, unfortunately, assumed that we were in fact accepted into the festival. HA!...yeah...not so much with the acceptance type goodness. When Ahmed ( the producer) emailed them and graciously thanked them for accepting us, they *ahem* kindly informed us that we were not accepted. LOL!!!!! I find that shit HILARIOUS!!! If you are at all familiar with the nature of the show, you will agree that it was brilliantly ironic...I mean, come on....the show is call This Can't Be My Life. Fantastic...just more material for us to use in the future.

After laughing our asses off at how fantastically "appropriate" that mix up had been and subsequently planning to dislike that festival for the rest of our natural born days, we found out that we WERE accepted into the San Francisco Black Film Festival. WOO HOO!!!! After being absolutely certain that it was true...we clebrated. Drinking is fun....and an important part of the filmmaking process.

We screen on June 15th at 3:00pm at the African American Art & Culture Complex (AAACC), 762 Fulton St. in San Francisco

For those folks who are in the area and can come out to support....DO IT!! Sorry, didn't mean to yell at you...but you get the idea.

We appreciate the support and look forward to seeing you there. Oh...yeah...we will be showing the trailer for the second episode at the end of the first episode in San Francisco. Hopefully we'll be able to get it up online soon so that all the fantastic people who worked on the second episode can get a glimpse of their amazing work.

Many many many thanks...see you in June!!!

Makers Mark neat,

Lynn
