WiretapMusic just posted a feature on the New Centuries! Its a six minute video in which we lay our cards on the table, bare our souls, and light bottle rockets.
The lovely and talented Olivia Parriott did an amazing job capturing the essence of the band, and writer Katie Kaapcke added a love letter to the band that's almost too much sugar for my sweet tooth.
Take a look and be changed forever:

- rain started as we crossed the columbia river and it didn't stop for four months
- beaujolais sniffs out the oysters in Olympia and brings us to the water park
- played it heavy and loud at Le Voyuer; enthusiastic vegans jumped up and down throughout the set
- trailer hitch malfunctions; Jorge finds us lodging. New Cent's introduce hairbo gummies to the olympia party scene and make fast friends.
- ken and beaujolais repair the trailer using tools and masculinity while drinking complimentary coffee, which is available throughout the state.
- pulled into Seattle and snooped around Fremont and Capital Hill. our man on the scene Parker ran merch and we played a short set to a seated audience
- invented "bar jenga" sprayed beer and various spirits on eachother and our lady friend Jenn. wet t-shirt contest narrowly averted.
- worst hangover to date. we rolled out of town late afternoon after learning the perverted and filty truth of the original starbucks logo.

Nepotism aside, The New Centuries make irresistibly catchy indie music. But, that's not to say they're generic. The NCs ting their sound with a punk spirit that's honed in by an affinity for lyrical prowess and unrelenting rhythm section. The band consists of Ryan Bogert on vocals, rhythm guitar and synth; Jeff Bissell on lead guitar and backing vocals; Adam LaBay on bass; and George Michael on drums. I've known many of the manifestations that the NCs have endured and it's safe to say that a stride has been hit with the current lineup. Finally gaining some major steam around their native San Francisco, it seems as if the release of their recent EP Paradise Massage could generate some big things. The 5 song collection offers the listener no rest from the opening rock-n-roller, "Stairs (I Knew I Should Have Pushed You Down Those)" to the countrified closer, "There's No "P" In My Aradise." Urgent and unforgiving, the EP sounds wholly original and almost captures the spirit of their electrifying live performance. Almost.
That said, cop the new record and see them live if you're in the Bay. Also, watch out for their Pac NW tour in September.
The New Centuries play Mars Bar on September 20th

Thanks to some generous entertainment industry risk-takers in the beautiful states of Oregon and Washington, the New Centuries are pleased to announce September 2008 tour dates!
We'll be sweating out the jams and slamming brews at DUNES in Portland on Thursday 9/18. On Friday 9/19 we're playing Le VOYEUR in Olympia, WA with Olympia local rockers Brownstar. Saturday Sept.20 we're at MARS BAR in Seattle, playing a show put on by a kick ass music website/promoter called NadaMucho.com. On the way home, we play THE SPACE in Salem, OR and we're looking forward to meeting up with our friends in Salem again.
Can't wait to get back on the road!

Bay Area indie music blog Stranger Dance (http://www.strangerdance.com/) took time to consider Paradise Massage, here's what they said:
June 3rd, 2008 .. --> by Vague Panther -->

Independent since 2005, The New Centuries made a name for themselves with a self-titled release in February of 2007. With songs like "Midnight Shows" and "Sharp Darts" the indie quartet greeted unsuspecting audiences with infectious guitar-synth dance rock (yeah, I made that term up — think Bloc Party).
The latest effort from Centuries is no different. Perhaps a little more upbeat, but with no less Curesque crooning from lead singer Ryan Beaujolais, Paradise Massage demonstrates that these guys deserve a second listen.
Ken Hefferson's guitar playing forms the cutting backbone of songs like "Stairs (I Knew I Shouldn't Have Pushed You Down Those)" and "Birds in the Garden," but may not catch your attention until you reach the much slower, contemplative echoes of "Moonlight Kawasaki Drive." Radam L'Bay's bass and George Michael's drumming (Arrested Development, anyone?) also reach a moment of relaxation on MKD, making it by far the best song on the EP in my opinion. But then again, I'm not on my fifth brew in a crowded club getting ready to shake it am I?
That being said, I can't help but wonder if there are two forces at play here – the sort of indie guitar-synth dance rock sound vs. a yearning for a little post-rock action? Maybe I'm forcing my will, but even on their first self-title release, The New Centuries kick ass when they skate the line so perfectly on tunes like "Middle Years." As Beaujolais sings, "hey boy, this ain't no goddamn dance floor and you swore you'd never let things get this far," I can't help but agree. Don't let the dancing fool you, The New Centuries are bound to shake comparisons and play their own way in the future.
If I had one bone to pick, it would be that I want more – damn EPs. Buy Paradise Massage and The New Centuries (self-titled) online on The New Centuries myspace page.

June 18th – Retox Lounge, San Francisco
June 29th – KIMO's Club, San Francisco
July 5th – Gingerbread House, San Jose
July 25th – Starry Plough, Berkeley
