Many places where great people lived through American history are preserved as historical sights. But one sight in particular has been forgotten, the Cleveland Ohio home of Jerry Siegel the co-creator of a character who has surpassed his humble beginings to become an inspirational icon for millions around the world. That character is Superman, a character born from the very house that is now in danger. Throughout his seventy years in existence Superman has served as an icon and an inspiration to show the world that even the most ordinary people can overcome their challenges find their inner strength and emerge as a hero. Yet the home where this modern myth was created has been allowed to decay and fall apart. Yet with the help of people like best selling novelists Brad Meltzer and Neil Gaiman, TV personality Steven Colbert, filmmaker Richard Donner, and comic superstars such as Geoff Johns, Jim Lee, Brian Michael Bendis, George Perez, Joe Quesada and too many others to count, plan to restore Siegel's home. If you can't be bothered to help think about the all the times you opened a comic and saw Superman save the world, or all the times you were amazed by Christopher Reeve flying through the air, or all the times you sympathized with Tom Welling as he pondered his destiny. So people this is your chance to hellp the greatest of all the heroes. You can help the group, the Siegel and Shuster Society, just go to the web site: www.OrdinaryPeopleChangeTheWorld.com. But since most people don't listen to me, here's a message from the man who started it all, New York Times best seller and writer of DC Comic's smash hit Identity Crisis, Brad Meltzer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25R2kcJxQuc

Once again the Academy decided that only a handful of films were worthy of reward. Though No Country for Old Men, Juno, and the rest were fantastic films there was a good fair share of films that came out before September that were overlooked.

We finally did it me and my friends organized and put on a convention and it was a major success yesterday. Nerdacon, the areas only gaming, sci-fi, anime, horror, and art convention made it to the news, the newspaper and drew around 1000 people. For once something cool happened in Columbus and for those who missed the good time, hope to see you next time.

BEST DC Superman/Action Comics-With the major Up Up and Away storyline draws to a close it is time for DC to reenergize for a new generation and who better than writer Kurt Busiek the great writer behind the revolutionary tales of the Marvels and Astro City one of the best things to come from the comic book industry ever. He teams with white hot penciller Carlos Pacheos (Green Lantern, Superman/Batman) to give the Man of Steel a needed update an a push in the right direction.
Batman/Detective Comics-James Robinson revitalialized the character for a new direction, brought back all the things we love about Batman and Gotham (such as the return of Comissioner Gordon) he brought back fan favorite villain Two Face. How do they follow this up? With brilliant writer Grant Morrison (JLA, New X-Men) the man who made the X-Men cool again and artist Andy Kubert (Ultimate X-Men) in a story about Batman`s son (wait what?). Not to be outdone one of the masterminds behind the critically acclaimed, Emmy winning BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES, Paul Dini and super talented artist Rags Morale (Identity Crisis) are ready with great stories featuring the Riddler, the Joker and of course Harley Quinn.
Jonah Hex-A series that needs some sales boosting. Writers Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray do in 22 pages what it takes most books several months to do, tell a great story with tons of action. And incredible art doesn`t hurt either.
Green Lantern-Hal Jordan is kickin` butt an` takin` names which is what he should be doing. Geoff Johns (Infinite Crisis, Teen Titans) knows what makes Hal such a great character and Ivan Reiss (Rann-Thangar War) is quite possibly DC`s best artist.
52-The best writers in comics collaborate on the real time weekly series that fills in the events in the 52 weeks between the Infinite Crisis and 1 Year Later. This series features fan favorite second stringers the Question, Elongated Man, Black Adam, Steel, Renne Montoya, and Booster Gold giving each of these characters a new depth never seen before. A year without Superman, Batman, or Wonder Woman but definitely not a year without heroes.
Teen Titans-Geoff Johns sets this series in a new direction where Robin deals with leading the team and the loss of his best friend Superboy.
Ex Machina-From DC`s Wildstorm imprint Brian K Vaughn (Runaways)tells the story of a former superhero turned mayor of New York who saved one of he towers in 9-11. Let the controaversy begin.
All Star Superman- Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely the team responsible for making the X-Men cool again set their sights on the Man of Steel. Using DC`s All-Star line to tell stories out of continuity they weave retro style Superman stories with modern sci-fi concepts.
BEST MARVEL
Daredevil- Ed Brubaker and Michael Lark the critically acclaimed team of Gotham Central put a new twist on the tradition of making Matt Murdock`s life hell. They put the character in prison, killed off Foggy Nelson causing Murdock behind bars to forge an alliance with none other than the Kingpin. All the while a Daredevil impersonator is running aorund Hell`s Kitchen. It`s Mat Murdock locked up with, the Kingpin, the Punisher, Bullseye, the Owl and several of the meanest inmates around.
Captain America- Brubaker weaves a great conspiracy laden tale drawing on Cap`s past. The story began with the death of the Red Skull or so it would seem. We got Bucky who`s not really dead, Crossbones and the Red Skull`s daughter raising hell through the country a budding relationship between Cap and Sharon Carter, and a Union Jack guest appearance.
Moon Knight- Comics newcomer Charlie Huston and fan favorite artist David Finch (New Avengers) tell the greatest story ever about the cult favorite psychotic hero.
Astonishing X-Men- Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly) and John Cassady (Captain America) prove they have what it takes to follow up Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely. Giving us some of the best character moments in the X Men`s long history.
BEST OTHERS
Invincible- Quite possily the best super hero book out there. It deals with Mark aka Invincible son of the world`s greatest superhero Immortal. This book offers up gut busting humor and heartbreaking moments that come with being a superhero while going through the toughest years of your life as a teenager.
BPRD- No Hellboy but the team still manages to kick plenty of supernatural ass.
PVP-I defy anyone to read this book and not say it is one of the funniest things ever.
Fell- Critically acclaimed Warren Ellis (Planetary) gives us the best detective comic ever.
Archenemies-Imagine a superhero who unbeknownst to him has his archenemy as his roommate and you`ve got a brillaint mini series.
WORST DC All Star Batman-Just like his Superman run we have Jim Lee`s gorgeous art with absolutely terrible writing. It is possible for Frank Miller to write stupid bad dialouge (no one was more shocked than your`s truly). Bats is a dick who treats Robin like crap. The book comes out twice a year and has no direction and moves and a turtle like pace.
Wonder Woman- I hope I am jumping to conclusions but the overrrated Alan Heinberg (yes Young Avengers is nothing but a Teen Titans rip off) looks only to be telling a story thats been done before. The first issue did not live up to the hype. But Terry Dobson gives us incredible art. I hope Greg Rucka comes back.
Nightwing-What the hell are they doing? Bruce Jones is focusing on the only character to die by popular vote who was brought back by a bad story while perpetrating a grand character assassination on Dick Grayson the star of the book. What happened? Nightwing was so cool in Infinite Crisis.
MARVEL WORST
Spiderman books- What happened to my favorite Webslinger? He`s got a stupid new costume and is acting completely out of character. You`d figure with five billion titles one writer would get it right. Here`s to hoping Jeph Loeb hurries up and starts his new series soon.
Civil War- Wait Marvel`s doin` another mega huge crossoer event that promises lasting changes where everyone fights AGAIN!!!! I could care less. Funny this emerges only after Infinite Crisis turns into such a huge hit.
All the clutter X Men titles- My God did this company learn nothing from the 90`s about too many X titles.
New Avengers- Bendis has rebuilt one of the greatest superteams ever minus all the things that made it great. This writer is way past his prime.

The 2005 Josh Movie Awards
Best Film Batman Begins Cinderella Man Serenity Star Wars Episode 3 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Winner: Batman Begins. Finally Batman movie truly exemplifies the Dark Knight. This film takes a complex storyline, an all-star cast, and a great director and puts them together for the best film of 2005.
Worst Film Dukes of Hazzard Devil`s Rejects Fantastic 4 House of Wax Winner: Dukes of Hazzard. You take a crappy TV show and make a movie out of it what did you expect. Add a cast who`s only talented actor is Burt Renyolds and you`re gonna get a disaster.
Best Actor Nathan Fillon (Serenity) Christian Bale (Batman Begins) Russell Crowe (Cinderella Man) Ewan McGregor (Star Wars 3) Johnny Depp (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) Mickey Rourke (Sin City) Winner: Russell Crowe. A consistently great actor who immerses himself in the role of a boxer in this incredibly underrated movie.
Best Supporting Actor Michael Caine (Batman Begins) Adam Baldwin (Serenity) Paul Giamotti (Cinderella Man) Alan Tudyk (Serenity) Cillian Murphy (Batman Begins) Nick Stahl (Sin City) Winner: Michael Caine. A legendary actor, who`s still got it. It takes a lot of talent to act alongside Christian Bale and not be outshined especially while playing a difficult role, and he pulls it off brilliantly.
Best Actress Summer Glau (Serenity) Rosario Dawson (Sin City) Renee Zellweger (Cinderella Man) Natalie Portman (Star Wars 3) Winner: Summer Glau. Reprising her role from the cult classic TV show, she draws your attention as a troubled girl and does it without hogging scenes.
Best Supporting Actress Dakota Fanning (War of the Worlds) Gina Torres (Serenity) Brittny Murphey (Sin City) Winner: Dakota Fanning she steals the show from Tom Cruise. `Nuff said.
Best Animated Feature the Corpse Bride Wallace and Grommit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit Winner: Corpse Bride. In a close contest between two incredible movies Corpse Bride brought emotion to an animated flick not seen since the Iron Giant.
Best Director Joss Whedon (Serenity) Chris Nolan (Batman Begins) Steven Spielberg (War of the Worlds) Ron Howard (Cinderella Man) Tim Burton (the Corpse Bride) Winner: Chris Nolan. While all the nominees were incredibly great, Nolan sets himself apart, never having done a big budget, blockbuster, epic before he did it with amazing result, investing his talent to finally putting a great live action Batman on film, and still maintaining his style that made him great to begin with.
