Luck & Inspiration
In the past few weeks, I have been dreaming about luck. It’s hard to describe how images and impressions come to me. For example, I was having a great dream the other night and cannot remember what it was, but I do recall looking up at the sky and seeing the work LUCK etched in the clouds. And lately, in my waking state, I keep thinking of luck. In another dream, I saw a billboard with the word Lucky splashed across it. The joke here is that when I ask God to guide me, I always add: Make it a billboard so I don’t miss it. Well, my billboard was clear.
What was it about this “luck” thing? I looked up the etymology of the word luck and discovered that while the origin of the word is not certain, it came from the Gaelic word for happiness.
Then I flashed on Abraham Lincoln, who in his lifetime had many so many setbacks, it’s legendary. And he was prone to depression. However, he was the one who spoke a very famous quote that we all know: “I guess most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be.”
Fortune can come and it can go, but happiness is a state we choose to step into. Have you ever noticed that when you’re happy, the world magically opens up?
At the end of the day, however, happiness comes down to responsibility and discipline.
If you have kidney disease, or alcoholism or are in an abusive relationship and don’t get the help you need, it gets in the way of feeling inspired and excited about life. We don’t ask for life’s challenges, but we must be responsible for them.
Okay, so there may be a spiritual reason, but to feel inspired, to have luck, to be a clear channel for miracles, it begins with personal responsibility.
AND I am NOT always the best at it. I have made challenging choices, and people have asked why I didn’t know what was coming since I’m a psychic. Sigh. It’s like getting a massage…it’s hard to rub yourself. We all have life lessons. But to feel happy and inspired, we must set an intention for it.
Choose happiness.

Mortgage Crisis – A Spiritual Perspective....
.. ..
Who are these nameless, faceless, greedy people you ask? Okay, so it’s not a secret -- I’m the one who signed a sub-prime loan. ....
.. ..
A few months back, quite unceremoniously, my mortgage company sent me my bill for the next month. My mortgage had more than doubled, and there was no other choice. That was it. ....
.. ..
I phoned GMAC and two hours on hold later, I was made an offer that was quickly rescinded weeks later – because as they put it, “Oh, no we’re the mortgage company, we don’t have to make deals with you.” ....
.. ..
But wait, I’m a person just like you. And I could feel the I don’t care about you – you’re just a part of my job seep through the phone. There was no dealing with this supervisor. In fact, she informed me that she had the final word. ....
.. ..
Since September, I’ve managed to eek out my payments. And just today, someone said, “Oh, the way to renegotiate is to stop paying. They won’t listen if you keep paying.”....
.. ..
How sad is that?....
.. ..
At first, I began thinking about how perhaps I should stop paying the mortgage; after all, that’s how I would get help. ....
.. ..
But as I was speaking with my two buddies, who, by the way, are millionaires and doing just fine, something came over me. ....
.. ..
“I don’t want to buy into all this,” I said. I signed those documents. Now, yes, maybe I wasn’t as informed as I should have been – but where does my taking personal responsibility enter into all this? ....
.. ..
I said to my friends, “Instead of thinking how to get myself out of this, why not think about how I can be more prosperous, like you guys? What about saving me by helping me increase my income?” ....
.. ..
I make all my decisions based on my intuition, and I still feel blessed that Jeff Lewis came into my life and helped me get this house. And, I sense that the way out is NOT the way I went in. I must be conscious now. I must really set my intention to fly the plane. ....
.. ..
I think the entire world was impressed with the way Sully landed that plane on the ....Hudson..... A miracle? Intention. He was going to land that plane. Intention equals miracles. ....
.. ..
“I’ve already changed my attitude and in the past few weeks. I’ve been more in touch with my clients than ever before. What else do I need to do to GIVE more?” I asked. ....
.. ..
They were silent for a moment, and Dan spoke first. ....
.. ..
“Not many people in business will admit that they use their intuition to make major decisions, but you know what? I always use my instinct. I have to. Don’t tell my investors that, but I trust my hunches. And honestly, you’re right; this fear thing is like a virus, isn’t it? Here we are trying to help you get out from under rather than giving you a hand up,” he said. ....
.. ..
I countered, “Even the term “bailout” disturbs me, don’t bail me out. Show me how to swim. Believe in me and my ability.” ....
.. ..
So here’s what I said, “Teach me what you know about success, and I’ll teach you what I know about intentions and creating miracles.”....
.. ..
Both friends agreed to support me, but not before we all agreed that the importance of our conversation was that we were committed to raising our conscious thinking. ....
.. ..
When I hung up the phone I realized we’ve lost confidence and faith in ourselves and our nation. This country was built one brick, one tree, one road at a time. We’ve simply gotten to the end of the reserve. We’ve been living off the fat of the land for so long, we’re now reaching into other lands to live. And that must stop, and I think we all know it. ....
.. ..
My job is to offer others a way to think differently. Get away from the victim mentality. I will not live in that thinking. I cannot or I’ve fallen into the general victim/fear mentality going on around us. What did our nation do during WWII? We came together. We stood courageously together. ....
.. ..
And I want to be clear: I think if the general public knew that there were other options, they’d take them.....
.. ..
.. ..
Are you doing that? Here’s some ways to do look for new choices:....
.. ..
- Try to take responsibility for everything in your life. EVEN the economic situation. Write down 3 things you can do to help others. Yes, you can. Think. Everyone can recycle, are you? Have a rent party for a friend in need… I went to one last week, and we all threw some money in the can. I didn’t even know the person we were helping…it was anonymous. And it was one heck of a good time.....
.. ..
- Offer your clients more than they are paying for. I always include a free gift in all my orders, and last month I gave every one of my previous clients a free 15 minute reading – I broke ALL the sales rules and did not upsell or try to get anyone to buy anything. This was my way of changing the consciousness. ....
.. ..
- And, if you don’t already subscribe, get my newsletter…I offer free consciousness-shifting meditations each month – and there is no obligation to buy. ....
.. ..
- Realize that we are all in this together. No one is really getting a leg up on you – the issue is that we all have our spiritual lessons, and money has very little to do with them. Give up blame, we all had a part in this. ....
.. ..
- And finally, take a few moments today to send someone a note telling them what they mean to you. If I have learned nothing else in these past months, it’s that I am very grateful for the people in my life. I welcome your thoughts opinions and comments. ....
.. ..
.. ..

My Everyday Spirituality: Making Peace with Chaos
by Cindy Bonaparte
When I come home every night, I hope to find refuge from the crazy world I have to go bumbling around in. Whether I've experienced road rage and honking horns, nasty supervisors, or a broken heel on a really bad date, I try to shed the chaos at my front door.
But some days, this proves more challenging than others.
Although I don't literally hear my boss yelling as I turn on my tea kettle, and a car doesn't cut me off in the hallway to the bathroom, I sometimes can't help but stir up that negative energy when I reflect on the day's events.
My mood changes, and I feel as if all that energy comes back to me over and over again. I even wake up the next day still feeling tired!
So I decided it wasn't enough for my home to be quiet, it needed harmony…and lot's of it! You know what I'm talking about if you've ever walked into someone's place and said, "Wow! I just feel so nice when I come into your home!" ¬
I made it my mission to chaos-proof my home, and along the way, I discovered a Harmony Intention Candle Kit at www.ToriHartman.com. I felt like it was made especially for me.
The act of lighting this organic soy aromatherapy candle immediately relaxed me and lifted my spirits. The intention-setting booklet that accompanied the candle (which, by the way, weighed in at nearly three whopping pounds!) suggested I keep the candle lit for seven ceremonial days. So I did, each day coming home to my candle burning safely in its sizable glass jar. As soon as I saw it, I was reminded me of the peace and harmony I wanted to create.
Making the Harmony Intention Candle part of my daily routine forced me to make something positive out of each day and envision things happening the way I want. As a result, I now carry some good vibes when I go back into the chaotic world to block out the negativity.
With all that positive energy radiating from me, I've seen interesting results! My boss is less tense and seems to respect me more. Drivers make eye contact and let me into their lanes. And that bad date? He's actually a really sweet guy!
Now, my friends come over and say, "Wow! I feel so at peace when I come to your house." It makes me feel good that I can affect those around me, and the world seems a better place. Who wouldn't want that?
Thanks To Cindy for writing such a wonderful blog
Blessings

A Lesson In How Intention Candles Burn
Recently, one of my clients bought the Prosperity Intention Candle Kit. She purchased Prosperity because she felt she was on a roll and wanted to solidify her personal focus.
As outlined in my booklet, she set her intention and lit her candle on the day of the week that provided the best energy. She then waited.
At three days in, she emailed me, worried. The candle's wax was sticking to the sides of the jar.
In the booklet, I explain that if the wax sticks to the sides, the issue may be sticky or something that needs to be addressed.
She wanted to know if we needed to do a reading or if she needed another candle. My answer was no.
I'm not going to do a reading for someone who doesn't need one. Yes, you read that correctly. I'm not here to make you addicted to my intuition. I'm here to offer a path to your own intuition and knowing.
Yes, as a psychic and intuitive, I see things. But I frequently suggest that clients who are in a state of panic wait a few days before deciding if they need to come see me. Spiritual counseling, I believe, is something that shouldn't be abused. It's an honor to have the gift of guidance.
So what did I say to my customer?
Here's the email I sent her. I changed a few things to respect her privacy and clarify the message.
Dear E.,
Everything is fine. You are on a roll. This is part of the journey for you. This means you must stay on course and not lose sight of your intention.
When a person embodies their intention, a large part of it is clearing anything preventing one from being of service. This is a powerful part of the entire process.
Stickiness in an issue does not mean it won't work. (Wax sticking to the side of a glass jar indicates something may be stuck with the intention.) In fact, it means that there WERE issues – which is good. The candle intention pulls and clears. The feeling of worry that you are experiencing, I'm guessing, is one that you have had many times in other areas.
Your emotional experience surrounding the candle is showing you where you stop yourself. When something outside you isn't showing you what you think it should, you may fall into doubt. This is the time to go back inside to what YOU know is true within. Are you on your path? Are you in gratitude?
Look at your candle. What is it telling YOU? Are you making a path in the world? Could that be the message? Could it be that you are barreling through alone? (Note: Her candle was burning a cavern down the middle.)
As you look at your candle, what do you see? This is a new endeavor for you, a new start. You are on your path – it's narrow, yes? It may mean that you need to expand your awareness.
There are a few other ways to interpret the way your candle burns. These are special candles that are poured by a Reiki practitioner. The energy is already imbedded in the candle. How does the shape (the way it burns) reveal what is really going on with you?
This small experience is revealing where, or more importantly, when you are in doubt. So the question is this: What will it take for you to have faith in yourself?
YOU ARE on an energetic roll. Allow the candle to guide you to more determination and focus. After the candle has finished burning, cleaning the jar is the key. Use it for money you find. Mine is filled with bills…fives and tens I've found on the street. It's crazy how it attracts.
Give yourself the mantra that the reason the wax is sticking to the sides is because money is going to stick to you!
Thanks for your question. This will be my next blog!
Blessings,
Tori

OCTOBER, A MONTH FOR WISDOM
What Can Tori Hartman, Inc. Offer YOU in October?
Blogging has been a new exercise for me. I have been feeling my way through in my first blogs and finding a way to express myself that is useful to others. I believe that one should "write it wrong" – it's better to write than not – and course-correct as you go.
That said, I'm calling October the Month of Wisdom. You will begin to see the congruence of my message in our October newsletter. As my message is coming together – the spirits that guide me to speak to you are becoming louder, too.
I now realize I have been away from my tribe in the past few years. I definitely departed from my gut feelings and wisdom. How appropriate that I would reclaim it at the time when I am offering you the same opportunity.
If you've visited my site, then you know there's A LOT there, and "it" hit me the other day: You have to know me. And I don't mean know-what-I-feed-my-dogs-know-me… I'm talking about getting to know my spiritual process and evolution.
I never understand at a given time why I have been drawn to do a particular thing. My father used to say, "Well, just get to the top of the mountain and see if you like the view rather than standing at the bottom and arguing for your limitations."
I was guided into everything I've ever done – and in hindsight, it all makes sense – from my early days as Liz Claiborne's first petite model to writing about the fashion business to my work as an intuitive. I've been thrown into various pursuits, and I've learned.
When Putnam published my book, FABULOUS YOU! UNLOCK YOUR PERFECT PERSONAL STYLE , I cried for two days when my editor told me the title. I hated it. And now years later, I can see how perfect it was.
That book was originally called "Colorometry" and focused on the meaning behind the colors we wear and live with. I traveled to the proverbial ends of the earth to find information on color energy for that book. And when my editor said she liked my lifestyle chapter – "not the color thing," as she put it – that's what the book became.
At the end of the day, however, I fought to keep in the color section, and it's the basis for much of the energetic work I do today.
It all comes from somewhere, and now I see that each piece of the puzzle was put together energetically to support YOU. This I learned while I worked with the Reiki practitioner who hand-pours my organic soy wax candles to create the aromatherapy for each Intention Candle Kit.
I don't believe for a minute that you will wear a gratitude bracelet and the heavens will open up. But I do know that these products are divinely energized to push you forward into blessings.
My intention is that each month, you will gain AMAZING value and learn to tap into the Universal energy that the month's vibration offers. This is how one manifests…by surrendering to the flow of the season.
I know. It can be confusing, but the tips and ease of tapping into this energy is FREE for you in the newsletter. Every month, if you are a subscriber, you will get the opportunity to download the free meditation that will bring you powerful insight into what is going on in your life – and give you the secret roadmap hidden in my site that gives you a powerful reading.
Call, email or write us with any questions. We are always happy to support YOU in finding the correct path.

Color Expert, Tori Hartman, Reveals the Meaning Behind the Wardrobes Chosen by Presidential Candidates on Debate Night
If you've been watching the candidates, you've been watching two very different styles of dress, particularly in their choice of colors, or lack of them. The articles of clothing in question on debate night?
McCain: Grey suit. Light blue shirt. Red and white tie.
Obama: Grey suit. White shirt. Red tie.
Both candidates wore grey suits to "neutralize" themselves on television and Internet viewing. The color grey lets people know that both candidates stand in the middle of the road…that neither is an extremist.
McCain wore a light blue shirt and a red and white tie, most obviously to represent patriotism. Looking deeper, however, blue communicates truth. McCain is driven to speak up what he feels is his truth. He will always articulate what he stands for. The red and white tie tells that he is deeply rooted in staying detached. Red signifies passion and self-motivating energy, yet in McCain's choice of tie, it is tempered by white, a color that deflects. McCain is a man who understands the need to stay cool under fire. All soldiers are trained in this, and it was the message of his color combination.
I give McCain an "A" for his well-chosen colors. They show he is able to stand for his convictions.
Now for Obama. In many pictures of Obama, we see his white shirt sleeves rolled up. This, of course, is an indication to us that he is literally ready to roll up his sleeves and get the job done. This message is congruent with his choice of wardrobe colors on debate night. White indicates an ability to receive but not necessarily absorb information. He considers but does not take personally what is being conveyed. The ability to stay detached and uninvolved in others opinions is evident in a white shirt.
The most interesting choice of color was Obama's deep red tie. Red is the color of service, and since the tie was on the darker end of the red spectrum, it suggested the idea that Obama is in deep contemplation. His thoughts are profound and heartfelt. I also give Obama an "A" for communicating his concern and caring through his colors on debate night.
Let's now look at the color choices of the potential First Ladies. Cindy McCain always chooses to wear something bold to convey the strength of her convictions. Her pure red suit during the debate reveals the message that she is in charge. She is the power behind the throne, and McCain relies upon her to be his supporter. Theirs is a traditional marriage.
Michele Obama, on the other hand, has been working to convey the image of traditional wife and partner. Her energy is very strong and in an effort to support rather than outshine her husband, she tones down her style. For the debate, Mrs. Obama wore a multi-colored outfit in olive and red. As I mentioned, red indicates contemplation and caring, while shades of green are associated with the heart and healing. This combination was chosen to subdue the powerful aspect of her role in their modern marriage.
As you can see, color is revealing. Now, if only the colors chosen by the candidates and their wives could tell us who, in fact, will win the election!

Economic Panic
Is no one talking about this frenetic energy surrounding us all?
I'm noticing it in that people are taking fewer risks than they did before.
I'm not talking about buying a house you can't afford. I'm talking about energetic fear that is moving over this country like an ocean mist in the winter. It's cold and damp and the feeling is one of being all alone.
Yet, as you stand there contemplating the ocean, you at once realize that you are not at all alone. This vast ocean is bigger than you are. That there is a power, a force outside you and not ruled by you. But we must all abide by the universal spiritual laws.
What you think about you bring about.
Yes, we ALL know this is true. So, if we're going to spend time obsessing, why not obsess about being the one who thrives during this economic correction? Imagine others benefiting from your services and in return, as they pay you, you too share that money with others.
It all goes somewhere.
You can't spend time worrying and have it lead to nowhere. We can't just throw trash in the garbage pail and have it magically disappear. You must make sure that where you are going you want to go. Don't wait at the wrong bus stop and complain that your bus isn't coming.
Receive the bounty.
Okay. This is the big one. Ready? Ugh. We have to be open to receive that which we desire. All too often we are completely closed off to new ideas. Have you caught yourself in thoughts like, "Well the economy is bad, and it's only going to get worse for me?" Be open to receive that which you desire.
Everything happens for a reason.
Remember that ALL crises have their benefits. The last time there was a major earthquake, I met my neighbors. We are to this day close friends. A client of mine married the man who rescued her cat from their burning building… no he wasn't a fireman. In a reading for her, all I saw and kept saying was that he's either very hot or a fire sign.
Which brings me to my conclusion. If this economic shift is happening for a reason, what do you suppose it is? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
In the meantime, how about this? Start envisioning a new way of being. How about seeing peace and tranquility – a sense of well-being to share with others?
We created this "panic." Why not create something else? Any ideas?

My Practice
In the early 1990s, when I started doing psychic work, I had so many people phoning me for readings, I had to start charging money. Time didn't allow me to do anything else.
This line of work started several years prior when I had a near death experience (NDE). I had gone to the doctor and just as she got to me, I fell backwards. As I fell, I turned and saw myself pull out of my body. I watched as the doctor reached to catch me and yelled out. But everything was silent.
Then, everything went dark, and I heard a steel door slam shut. I was floating and peaceful, and it was wonderful. Ahead of me, through the darkness, I saw light and what appeared to be dark shadows moving back and forth. In a flash, I realized that it was too silent there. I didn't hear my own breath! I began to struggle and started falling at a speed faster than I can describe.
I slammed back into my body, sat up and gulped for air. I was back… startling the group medics around me, I can assure you!
While in the hospital during the following days, I began to "know" things.
I informed the nurse who came to take my temperature: It's good your boyfriend moved to Rhode Island, because he'd been seeing someone else all along. Startled and upset, she burst into tears and ran out of the room.
The head nurse then came in to inform me it wasn't nice to gossip about the nurses. I had no idea what she was talking about, since I knew no one. I just closed my eyes while she took my blood pressure. Then came the voice in my head again: Your stepson is not gay. He likes women, and ballet is the perfect way to meet them.
She leaned in to me: Where are you getting your information?
I shrugged. This was a New York hospital, and I didn't want to wind up in Bellevue.
It didn't take long before I realized that anyone who touched me got a reading…whether they asked or not! I soon learned how to control this and today, I only read people if I first get their permission.
But back then, it was a different story. I told a doctor to check his tires before going skiing.
His conversation with me was the most meaningful. He came in two days later and asked me about the tires. Apparently, I had assisted him in averting a dangerous situation.
Well, if I told you I heard a voice, I'd end up in psych, right?
He laughed and nodded. Probably.
I smiled and told him I didn't know.
My world has changed since then. I have since been blessed with understanding that those of us who know things are given this information for a reason. Often, it's because we are here to give information that will alter the way others experience life.
Over the years, my practice has grown. People often ask me what type of readings I give, and honestly, they vary. Sometimes, it's about work or the path to take. In those cases, I will suggest a product to assist in grounding my clients in an intention for work, love or health.
Sometimes, my readings are about seeing what is coming and telling someone.
And other times, a deceased loved one or friend will show up to speak.
My products grew out of my desire to assist people in attracting what they want, especially when the direction they're heading in is taking them somewhere else. The products were created to form a roadmap, a spiritual light that allows the universe to identify you as someone to send a particular package to. It's like putting your name on the spiritual mailbox.
I will be writing more about the work I do and how I use the to give you a solid understanding of the power of intention.

How the Spirits Can Help You with Your Life
Last year, my dear friend, Julie, was in dire straights. She had just been dumped by another guy, a powerful Hollywood agent who had, quite honestly, ignored her and her needs quite a bit.
She came to me and asked for help. Her pattern with men had been a miserable one. She met and married a rock superstar ten years prior, and their five-year marriage finally ended when he admitted that he'd been having an affair the entire time. For her, the worst of it was that there had been many others and she hadn't known.
How could I not have known? Julie lamented.
I shrugged. Whatever pattern you're doing, it is in an attempt to heal something. So there is a good reason. If you're dating cheaters, someone cheated in your history or had a fear of it.
Julie shook her head. My parents are happily married - forty years happy! It can't be that.
What about your grandmother? I was referring to her mother's mother.
I didn't know her. She died when I was three.
In that moment, I felt a powerful presence. It was Julie's grandmother. Her message was clear: Don't make the mistakes I did.
I went on to relay to Julie the message from her grandmother. She had married a man who cheated on her for her entire life. She didn't want that to be Julie's fate. She wanted Julie to have better.
I have no way of finding out if this is true. Julie said.
I don't know if that matters here. I said. What is important is that you keep leaving the cheaters, and your grandmother never did.
In my experience in working with multi-generational healing like this, the inherited challenge always skips a generation. If you're lucky enough to have a grandparent alive, find out their story. Often we are playing out the healing that they never could do.
Julie made this connection instantly, but she wanted to be in a relationship. She pointed to the Divine Love Intention Candle Kit that sat behind me.
I guess I need that, don't I?
I disagreed. If anything, the Healing Intention Kit would be more appropriate to quickly clear the remnants of this pattern.
In the reading, Julie's grandmother gave her permission to no longer have to work on healing this family wound. It was done. She was proud of Julie for leaving a situation that was intolerable. As a result, she told Julie to find a man who would be dedicated to her.
This story has a wonderful ending. Julie agreed with me and worked with the Healing Intention Candle Kit, as well as her therapist. Six months later, a guy she had been friends with for over a decade phoned her. They had always been crossing paths, but the timing was never right…he in a relationship when she wasn't and vice versa. This time, however, they were both free. In one phone call, he announced his true feelings for her. He'd loved her for years.
Twenty-four hours later, he was on a plane from Vancouver. They have not been separated since.
