I appologize for not putting this up earlier on Sat. When I heard it but after finding out my dear friend Clayton Hill(Escalator Zombie Dawn Of The Dead) passed away I found myself in a state of shock and depression! This isnt supposed to happen to someone who was so good to everyone around him. Clayton Hill sadly has passed away from a stroke this past Sat. at the age of 78 and I ask that all of you take a moment to pause and show respect for this great man. Clayton Hill and his Wife Sharon became quick friends on and off the convention circuit pretty much right after the first time I met them. They were both very warm and giving and they would always put a smile on my face anytime I was down. They had a knack for making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Everytime I saw Clayton he would always greet me with a big bear hug and we would end up talking for long periods of time about everything from movies to politics. He was one of the smartest and warmest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and loving. My prayers go out to Sharon and the rest of their family in these hard times....I just hope they take comfort in knowing he made an impression on everyone he ever came into contact with and will be remembered. There will always be something misssing for all of us with his passing. Lets take this time to remember the man fondly and treat everyone we meet with the same love and compassion Clayton always did.
CLAYTON HILL
Clayton Hill started entertaining at an early age. When he was six years old, he sang in beer gardens with 3 piece combos where they would throw money at him. When he was a teenager, he sang on the radio station, WTAE-Pittsburgh on Saturday mornings in front of crowds of thousands of people. He went into the U.S. Air Force for four years and sang with swing bands at the officers and service clubs. When he was discharged, he immediately started acting and singing in plays on the stage in Pittsburgh. He was particularly in operettas where he sang and danced. He went to drama school for two semesters at the Pittsburgh Playhouse/Point Park College and appeared in many student productions. Clayton then landed a role as lead zombie in George Romero's Dawn of the Dead (1978) where he was also weapons coordinator. He is known as the "sweater zombie" in the United States and the "escalator zombie" in Germany. He has had credited and uncredited speaking roles in many movies such as; All The Right Moves (1983), Lady Beware; Knightriders (1981); Hellraisers III; Kid Brother; Silent Witness; Maria's Lovers; The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh; Rappin'; and Death Penalty. Clayton was featured in such movies as Gung Ho; Mrs. Soffell; Stuck with Each Other, and Children of the Corn II where he also did stunts work. Clayton has worked with such directors as George A. Romero, where he was 2nd assistant director for the movie Knightriders (1981) and Ron Howard, etc. He has cast over 25 movies as a location casting director along with his wife, Sharon Ceccatti. Clayton has done location scouting for movies in many cities and in other countries such as Spain & Morocco.
His wife, Sharon, was an assistant to David Copperfield. Clayton traveled with the crew and appeared in Illusions with David Copperfield, one on one in Caesar's Palace in Lake Tahoe, Atlantic City and Las Vegas. He appeared on tour in other countries such as Germany, Spain, Czech Republic and many others

“GEORGE A. ROMERO’S SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD” TO PREMIERE AT TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL Romero Fills In “Blank” on Latest Undead Epic LOS ANGELES, CA – Legendary filmmaker George A. Romero ended the chorus of fan speculation today by announcing the title of his latest film, GEORGE A. ROMERO’S SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD, which he had jokingly been calling ’BLANK’ OF THE DEAD since production began late last year. The film will premiere at the prestigious 2009 Toronto International Film Festival as part of the celebrated “Midnight Madness” series, spotlighting the ten best new horror movies from around the world. “We’re overjoyed to welcome George back into the dark hallowed halls of Midnight Madness,” says International Programmer, Colin Geddes. “And on a personal note, it’s a thrill for my inner ten-year-old, who rolled pennies to buy a VHS copy of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. GEORGE A. ROMERO’S SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD follows a war-weary band of soldiers who are lured to a remote island that promises to be the last paradise on earth, only to discover that even here there is no escape from the appetites of either the living or the dead. Says Romero, “We’re in the final stages of post-production and it’s great to come up for air and find out the film’s been chosen to appear at the Festival. It’s just a terrific honor.” Since virtually inventing the modern horror movie with 1968’s groundbreaking NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, Romero remains in the forefront of horror filmmakers, redefining the expectations and boundaries of the genre with each new release. Following the critical and financial success of 2007’s DIARY OF THE DEAD, Romero continues to branch out in startling new directions with GEORGE A. ROMERO’S SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD, a film unlike any he has done before.

RIP LOU PERRYMAN RIP Lou Perryman.......I never had the chance to meet Lou as each convention I was to meet him in he had to cancel. I will forever regret not getting to meet this amazing man. He was killed for nothing.......We lost a great actor and a great human being. It was a senseless killing and the world is worse off for not having him around......May his Killer rot in hell forever. Louis Perryman, an actor, was killed in South Austin.Perryman was found dead in his home Thursday, April 2. Police have detained a suspect in custody. The story will be updated when more information becomes available. Perryman,68, had been acting since 1961. Lou Perryman’s more memorable roles were in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2” and “Boys Don’t Cry”. Louis Perryman had used other stage names like Lou Perryman and Lou Perry. Seth Christopher Tatum, 26, of Austin, Texas, was arrested and charged with capital murder of Lou Perryman. Tatum told police he stole Perryman’s car as he believed the owner was dead. Tatum surrendered himself at a jail and said he thought he had killed the owner of a vehicle he stole. Police said Tatum did not know Perryman personally.
