Before we get into looking back at the previous year, we wanted to let you all know that we’ve been accepted to showcase this year at SXSW in Austin, Tejas. We’ll have more specific info soon, but for now we’ll be in the lone star state sometime between 3/18-3/22 playing Killing Texas to Texans and non-Texans alike!!!

2008 was a good first year - we released our debut album, began writing the next one, we reclaimed our nation from a junta of greedy elitist thieves, and played a number of shows with some old and new friends. We’d like to offer many thanks to you, dearest listeners, who have supported us by coming to our shows, buying our record (or getting it for free – but still listening), giving us bear hugs, talking to us about random human or non-human stuff, etc. In addition many thanks again to our friends Magic Bullet, Mylene Sheath, Black Day Creative, and AAM, who have all been incredibly supportive.

2)The 2xLP of I Am Your Bastard Wings is coming out in November.  You can place pre-orders now through our good friends, The Mylene Sheath.   We've seen the previews and it looks amazing.

Spread across two LP's, songs fill up sides A-C and an epic etching is on display across side D. The intense artwork (revised from the CD version) will be spread across two full-color, heavyweight, matte-finished, jacket-stock inner-sleeves housed in a heavy, upgraded, 5mm spine, full-colored, matte-finished jacket. All preorder customers will be entered into a raffle to win a test press of the album with a hand screened jacket! Also worth mentioning is that by preordering you'll save $3 off the purchase price, as due to the scope of this project the regular price will have to be $20, but they're just $17 during the preorder =) There are three different purchase options for this:

-200 copies on translucent orange/black swirl
-600 copies on white vinyl

Friends, 
Thank you to everyone who came out for our CD release show in addition to Caspian, Hooray for Earth, and Taxpayer for a phenomenal bill.  It was a great night.  We greatly appreciate your support.

Eksi Ekso formed from the ashes of two promising Boston-based rock bands: On Fire and the Burning Paris. Like its peers in fellow Massachusetts band Caspian and Texan label mates This Will Destroy You, this sextet loves the emotional epic and favors a moody, engulfing sound. Unlike those two purist post-rock bands, Eksi Ekso - that catchy name comes from the phonetic pronunciation of the Greek words for the number six and outside: six outside - includes wonderful vocals from co-frontmen Tom Korkidis and Nate Shumaker. Guitars burn and soar, and subtle loops and samples sometimes add a trip-hop aura, but these sophisticated arrangements also include violin, viola, piano, synthesizer, oboe, trumpet, and flugelhorn. Contemplative and heavy, "Albatross" bears obvious comparison to Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Magnificent strings drive the haunting "O' God, They're Frozen," and in a lighter moment a trumpet plays a plaintive jazzy refrain, introducing the record's lead track, "Wintering, The" - a title that suggests this six-some doesn't choose a path well-trodden if there's a less obvious way to go.

Hi friends - Next week on Tuesday June 10, I Am Your Bastard Wings will be available to buy direct through Magic Bullet Records and at all stores and online retailers.  It is currently available on ITunes.  The album has been a long time in the making and we're very excited to share this with everyone.

We have several radio appearances/performances coming up in the next few weeks.  Please check out our show listings for complete info/dates/times.  We've also included web addresses to help you  stream broadcasts on your computer if you're too far away and so inclined.

Hi everyone, 
We're back to the blog.  The Eksi Ekso web page redesign is now complete with photos, press, online store, and streaming some tracks from the album.  http://www. eksiekso. com

Our new CD I Am Your Bastard Wings (Magic Bullet Records) will be available in stores on June 10. It can be preordered now through store on our  web page.  We're also happy to say that the vinyl for I Am Your Bastard Wings will be released by our new friends at The Mylene Sheath. It will most likely be a gatefold double vinyl experience with different color sets to choose from. It will most likely feature an alternate cover design too. We'll keep you posted as the project progresses, we want to make it as special as possible. 

Our CD Release Party is scheduled for Saturday June 21 at the Paradise Rock Club. Joining us on the bill are our friends Caspian, Hooray for Earth, and DJ Die Young.   Tickets are on sale now ($12 advance / $14 at the door)
