...has left me confused as to what "good" means.

anyway:

GUILTY FACES:
Nightmares: 7"
Straight forward early to mid-’80s L.A./O.C.-style punk. I was hearing a bit of D.I. and even some Wasted Youth. Songs are short and to the point. The vocals are, at times, maybe too snotty for their own good and might have carried the songs better if they were a little less stylized. Still, this does pack a nice, nostalgic punch if you dig on that sound. –Evan Katz (Room 101)

also, from bleeding edges:

Guilty Faces- Nightmares
I was a big fan of Guilty Faces' demo, and from seeing them a lot, I knew what to expect from the new record. They seem to have slowed down a bit, but still retain the good elements from their demo. The music is sort of a cross between Dangerhouse Records style punk and some Revolution Summer style guitar leads. One of the songs even give me a Samiam feel to it. However the vocals are real raspy, which make it way more punk sounding. Modern bands I might compare them to would be Libyans and Pedestrians.

...there's more reviews out there. who cares? buy the damn thing and decide for yourself.

"Connecticut-based hardcore punk unit Guilty Faces was on next, featuring tiny, foul-mouthed super brat Tommy Perkins spitting out angry, hostile lyrics, jumping off amps, shouting in people’s faces, and trying as hard as possible to create chaos. This was a punk rock show after all!

“This song is about a girl I used to know…it’s called “Scum,” remarked Perkins snidely, running in circles in front of the stage as one or two riled-up fans cheered him on. The rest of the band remained on stage, offering brash, gritty punk sounds."

We just finished recording ten songs for an LP this past weekend, Jan. 16-18th, with Ryan Abbott at Side Two Studios in Boston. Everything sounds great and we're all really grateful to Ryan for doing an awesome job, lending us his drums, putting us up for the weekend and putting up with us for that time.

Also, thanks to Rohlfing for driving up from CT for the seemingly explicit purpose of buying us beer and pizza. We'll post some songs up on the myspace and details on who's putting this out when we know more.
