Hello all you beautiful people!

We're really excited for launch of our new self-titled EP on August 29th, and can't wait for you to hear it. It's been a lonnng time coming, as I'm sure many of you know, and we've been trying to get this thing out for a while now. We originally planned to have it up for digital download on 8/14, but issues arose with the studio and our digital distribution deal, so we've had to push it back to the 29th.  It sucks, we know. But to try to make up for keeping you waiting, we've worked it out so that we can play you some clips of the new songs on MySpace to hold us all over, until the album drops.  Expect to hear something new, right here on our MySpace page, by tomorrow night.

Also expect a new page design, and other tasty little nuggets, very very soon.

  We are currently booking our schedule for spring college shows in New England. We are planning to do a "College Tour" when all the spring events start happening. But we need YOUR help! Every college has an activities board that deals with setting up all of the spring and fall events for your schools! If you or someone you know is on the activities committee at your school, we would love to talk to you! If not, you can easily talk to your activities board to get some information.
     A lot of schools need bands for national acts that come to your college. We would love to be that band! All you have to do is get us some contact information for your activities director, and we can also send you some free demo CDs and presskits with all of our information. -THE RELEASE-

From the first time the four of us got together as a band, we knew that playing music was what we wanted to spend our whole lives doing. Over the past seven years we have had the most incredible experiences, met a ton of amazing people and made life-long friendships . This band has saved our lives and allowed us to do things we never thought possible. We feel honored that so many people have listened and supported us in what we simply love to do.

From touring down the east coast as teenagers, to opening for some of our favorite bands at legendary venues, every time we set foot on stage we still get the same thrill we did at our very first show, and this band has been the catalyst for making our dreams come true. As we transitioned together from our high school/college lives into adulthood, and are now ready to take on the band full time, and make music our career, we felt it necessary to make a fresh start, to regain that fervor and enthusiasm we had when we started this band all those years ago.

So with this fresh start, we're announcing our new name: "The Release". The Release symbolizes everything we want to portray through this band: a release of creative positive energy - that we are excited to share with the world. Everyone has their own release; Something that gets them through the hard times, something makes them feel alive and reminds them that life ain't so bad. For us, it's been playing music together for the last 7 years, for others it's running a marathon, or skiing down a mountain, going to see live music, reading a book, writing poetry, painting, making a film, taking pictures, helping others; whatever it is, find that one thing that makes you truly happy, and make that what your life is about. That's what we're trying to do, and that's why this name feels right.

We hope you will continue to support us in this exciting and important time as we take this giant leap into making the band our career. Our first official show as The Release is at Bill's Bar in Boston on July 21st. We are planning a lot for that night and we would love to have you share the experience with us.

-The Release

        Over the past 7 years, we as a band have evolved and gone through a great deal of changes, musically and personally. We have come to a point in the existence of this band where we felt like we needed a fresh start (of sorts) to be able to continue to move forward.
        The best way we thought we could do this was to start over with a new name. With that decision, came a realization of what we really want to accomplish with this band. We are still the same four friends creating music for the love of doing so, and are now ready to pursue this as our career. This is an important step for us to take and we hope you will continue to listen and be a part of what is to come.
        Sometime next week, we will be unveiling the new name, a new recording, and a new myspace layout. We are really excited to share all of this with you. Stay tuned!
