So I got this idea that a residency would be great to do. Seems like a dying thing. The idea always reminds me of Jeff Buckely at Siné or Ed Keuper at the Troubadour. They are a great Idea because you get to kind of get comfortable with a space and get to know the regulars and the music evolves over the time.

So I started looking for a place…somewhere that was nice, and free and out of the way with decent sound and that would give me a gig……. Then one night I was out riding my bike and we stopped into the Joynt in west end. It's unde the William jolly bridge, across the road from the parmalat milk place….if you take the GOMA exit and continue around and under the bridge it's right there.

Anyway it was really cool. Nice people…they actually talk to each other. No shit music, no wankers (so different to the valley these days). There was a blues guy playing solo. Old man with a hat on just playing away. It was really nice and I was a bit toasted at the time and I thought. 'This place is perfect'. So I emailed the owner and she's cool and we met up and I scored a residency in September.

So the dates are 3rd, 10th , 17th, 24th of September.

I am going to play each week. But I will be booking some friends and people I like to play each night too. So it will be three acts per night with me in the middle of the two.

I am still sorting it all out….and there is plenty of time but it's exciting and I think it will be an awesome little event…thingy.

So hope to see you there for beers and chats and good music.
