THE NEXT CD
We've eluded to new CDs here and there but now we can officially announce the recording process has begun on the new Mother Grove CD tentatively titled "By Request".

This CD is special in many ways; First of all, our first 2 CDs have been out of print for quite some time. And we've been playing these songs live with the current lineup for over 4 years. We get so many requests for the first 2 CDs that we decided to take some of the most requested songs from those CDs and record them the way we've been playing them live with Laura, John and Jim.

It's a tribute to our fans who have supported us for so many years and deserve to have the songs they've been requesting on CD.

Here's the tentative song list (I say tentative because we're still aquiring royalty and publishing rights for the songs we didn't write.)

In no order whatsoever:

The Road
Pray
Anymore
Beltane
Boys From Cork
Moe (complete with solos!)
Amazing Grace
Locomotive Breath (Jethro Tull)
Last Call
Scream (Seven Nations)
Loch Lomand
Melt with You (Modern English)
I Resign (new 2008 version)
Rev. Darwin

STUDIO NOTES
We had 2 incredibly productive days in the studio. We recorded all the drums, bagpipes, fiddle, mandolin and whistle parts. Next week we'll record vocals and guitars. Then the long process of mixing will begin.

We'll let you know when the CD is ready for release. I'm sure there will be a big retro MoGro CD Release Party to celebrate it's release!

THE "NEW" CD
We also have brand new original songs we've been working on for a CD to be recorded hopefully before or around spring of '09. We'll keep you updated on that one as well!

NEW WEB DIGS
We're also redesigning the website and rolling out an all NEW webstore to coincide with the new CD. Stay tuned @ Mother Grove dot com for the unveiling.

Thanks so much for your support, encouragement and loyalty.

Cheers!

You DON'T wanna miss these shows!

Thursday September, 11th is a rare concert opportunity!

Mother Grove will be performing with fellow Celtic rock band Coyote Run in Dayton, Ohio on Thursday, September 11th! We had the pleasure of sharing the stage with this incredibly talented group at Grandfather Mountain Highland Games back in July.

They are stopping through Dayton on their current tour and have graciously asked us to share the evening with them. The concert will be held at the Miami Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, so this is a great opportunity to see Mother Grove for those fans who can't get to a pub or see us at a festival. The show starts at 7:00pm. And don't be surprised if there isn't a spontaneous jam sometime during the show!

Show Time: 7:00pm
Tickets: $12 advance $16 day of show

And the fun doesn't stop there!

Saturday September, 13th finds us back at Fionn MacCool's Irish Pub in Indianapolis, IN for their Halfway to St. Patrick's Day Party!

Oh yeah, the fun starts at 6pm with our very good friends Highland Reign and continues with the Jameson girls and then Mother Grove at 10pm.

There's all sorts of drink specials and an Irish Toast finalist contest plus other shenanigans. You KNOW Fionn's is always a good time...so we'd better see you there!

August 26, 2008 - Tuesday
Brad got a shiny new bicycle for his birthday and the band won't let him ride it to West Lafayette Indiana this Friday to celebrate.  So it's up to you to help ease his disappointment and celebrate with us!

Two big shows from which to choose:

This FRIDAY, August 29th is the LONG awaited return of Mother Grove to O'Bryan's Nine Irish Brothers in W. Lafayette, IN. With a more extensive summer tour schedule comes the disappointing reality of not being able to play our favorite pubs nearly enough. O'Bryan's is no exception...but we'll be there this Friday to reconnect, meet up with some dear friends and of course; rock the house! The fact that it happens to fall on Brad's birthday is simply serendipitous.

Show starts at 9pm and goes until midnight.

SATURDAY
The shenanigans continue on Saturday August, 30th in Downers Grove (Chicago), IL at Ballydoyle Irish Pub. This place has one of the greatest stages, sound/lighting systems and sound techs of any pub we've played. Come out and party the night away with us. (I'm sure Brad will insist on making this his "birthday weekend".)

Show starts at 9pm and goes until 1:30am

Current mood:  determined
Ok, we've begun putting the theft behind us and are focusing on the future of Mother Grove and our continued world domination! (This is gonna be a long message, but it's full of important stuff!)

THEFT, TORNADOS, WHO DID WE TICK OFF?!

Just when we thought we were pulling out of the funk from having our gear stolen, Jim (our bass player) informed us that a tornado had struck his house. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but his house was severely damaged, as were many large trees, several sections of fence and a car window.

The hardest hit was his recording studio. The roof blew off and the ceiling caved in. Luckily there was enough warning that he was able to get most, if not all of his recording gear out in time. However, this is also the studio Mother Grove records and rehearses in. So we're making due by finding alternate rehearsal space.

A NEW LIVE CD!
In the meantime, we were lucky enough to get several good sounding live tracks from the show at The Focal Point in St. Louis (Maplewood), MO on May 10th! (MUCH thanks to JohnAndrew Belner for his superb recording talent!)We're in the process of mixing and tweeking and hope to have about 10-13 songs ready for a July release. Yes, JULY 2008! It's going to take alot of effort, but we can do it. We'll put some songs up around the 'net as we get 'em ready...just so you have an idea of what you're in for!

SILENT AUCTION
The idea of a "silent auction" has been brought up to help raise money to offset the cost of the equipment and merch we lost to theft last week. So this weekend at Peach's we're hoping to have several items up for auction such as; signed CDs and posters, hoodies, etc. Brad has also offered handwritten, signed and framed lyrics of your favorite Mother Grove song penned by him. He's also thinking about donating a guitar that will be signed by the band for the auction. This is all tentative, of course.

If the auction is a success, we may continue to gather items and auction them off at other shows, and possibly online.

SPEAKING OF SHOWS!
This Friday we're BACK in Ohio! We've missed you! We'll be at Peach's Bar and Grill in beautiful Yellow Springs, OH. (about 20 min from Dayton).  The show starts at 10pm and we believe there's a $5 cover charge. Contact Peach's for details:

Saturday finds us home in Indy! We'll be at The Claddagh Irish Pub on Indianapolis' NORTH side. Show starts at 9pm and there's no cover.

A BIG THANKS!
To everyone who's offered their support, encouragment, kind words and assistance after the events of this past week. Once again, this is more than a band, and you are all more than fans; you are friends. Thank you.
