Just Like You has initially received a very positive review. In his official review of the album, Entertainment Weekly writer Michael Slezak gave the album an A-, writing,

“ With 11 different producers for 13 tracks, you'd think 17-year-old Allison Iraheta would need a miracle to create a cohesive debut disc with Just Like You. But nope, the muscular, instantly recognizable growl that carried her to a fourth-place finish on American Idol's eighth season is all she needs to seamlessly wed a collection of first-rate ditties, from the relentlessly propulsive Holiday to the '80s-influenced D Is for Dangerous to the soaring Don't Waste the Pretty. Meanwhile, ballads like the understated Scars and the bluesy Trouble Is separate Iraheta from questionably abled Miley/Selena contemporaries. Girl. Can. Sang! ” I'm excited! Dec 1st guys, Trouble Is! :)
Thank you! <3 Aim

Current mood:  focused
Hey guys,
It's been kind of a while.  It's taken me a minute to get adjusted and have some time to myself... crazy couple of months.  I relocated to Los Angeles and ever since been locked away in the studio creating my musical children. They're going to swoon your ears as soon as they're ready, but right now they're still in the oven cooking.  If you'd like to be the most up to date on what I'm doing every day and who I am working with please follow me on my twitter at ...

Also, I would like to take this time to make an announcement that I'm very excited about!  My next song placement for my writing, TROUBLE IS,  will be in stores wherever music is sold DECEMBER 1st on ALLISON IRAHETA's debut album "JUST LIKE YOU".  You might know Allison from the last season of American Idol... or you might not if you live without any source of communication to the outside world, kind of like me, but hey I'm writing a blog now so it's a step in the right direction!  She sounds awesome on the song and I would really appreciate it if you could pick up her album on Dec 1st 2009!  Thank you so much for all of you're continuing love and support.  I know I'm a very lucky girl to have you all!

Thanks guys!

Current mood:  good
So the bad news is ... I didn't write this sooner.  But the good news is, if you're in California then there is still time (assuming that the show goes on at 9pm there also)  If you watch the show So You Think You Can Dance on FOX listen for "Save You" tonight (performed by Kelly Clarkson and written by myself and Ryan Tedder of One Republic).  It was my first time watching the show and wow some people can realllly dance their butts off, I was very entertained :)

Please tune in tonight at 10pm (or the first rerun at 11pm) to watch the new episode of The Hills tonight on MTV. A song of mine that I wrote a little over a month ago called "LA Bitch" was chosen to be a featured song! They also rerun the show all week and in a couple days they will post the entire episode at mtv.com if you miss it! Please listen for it, this is really exciting for me as The Hills is one of my favorite shows :)

So I've been holding this in for a while now, waiting for the right moment to tell you all (even though many of you have already figured it out!) A little song I wrote with Ryan Tedder of One Republic, called "Save You", is now available for pre-order on I Tunes, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Walmart, Target .... basically anywhere music is sold. You can find it on

KELLY CLARKSON'S NEW ALBUM "ALL I EVER WANTED" !

Please support and buy a copy of her album. She is a super talented artist and has made a "Totally Awesome" record as quoted by Rolling Stone Magazine, so you won't be disappointed! I'm so excited about this and have been wanting to tell the world for such a long time now. This will be my first release as a song-writer and I feel extremely fortunate to be part of such a big project.

Album comes out MARCH 10th 2009!!

Current mood:  sick
Ok, so ..... I'm sick today :( Right now I'm just drinking tea and eating cough drops. What are some tricks you guys use when you're sick? I need to get better like yesterday.

But on the bright side, this gives me the opportunity to write about my time here in LA so far and show you guys some pictures.

Where do I even start?

First off, I just want to let you all know that I think Gyu-kaku is my fav place to eat out here now. It's a Japanese BBQ restaurant where you cook your own food at the table (there's like a fire pit in the middle of the table with a grill over it). It's fun and delicious, I had the chicken and the garlic fried noodles which I highly recommend.

I saw a couple of shows during my free time, my favorite one was Amie Miriello and Dave Hodges playing at Molly Malone's on Monday night. They both are super talented and I've had the pleasure of working with Dave myself, you can hear one of our songs we wrote together with Steven Mcmorran if you click back to the music player on my page. It's called "Alone Tonight", a very personal song for me.

This is my buddy, Steven Mcmorran, well the back of him. Steven, Ari (below), and I were writing some heavenly tuneage for the ears.

Hi Ari.

This is a big scary elephant that was trying to take over Hollywood. Luckily, I was able to talk some sense into him and he quickly came to the realization that he was no match for me.

This is my friend Nasri. We spent one weekend writing a song together that I think is my best work yet as a writer.

This is me at the mall enjoying a cookie cup after picking up a couple MAC products.

Here I am with the guys from Moshav at Ron Aniello's studio. I showed up for my session a little early and they were just finishing up theirs. I ended up singing on one of their new songs right then and there ... you can check them out at myspace.com/moshavband

This is Pierre the French Bulldog. He makes a lot of stinkies, but he can't help it. I love him anyway.

Out and about in Hollywood.

I forget the name of this place, but it's frozen yogurt on Hollywood Blvd. I had the chocolate with strawberries and gummy bears mmmmmmm.

Photobucket
and here I am with the sweetest girl ever, Lindsey Ray, we were writing for her project ... you can check her music out at myspace.com/lindseyraymusic

I think I did a better job than last time with taking pictures, but still there was a bunch of other fun stuff and sessions that I didn't photograph ... I still have a week to go here, so that's a good amount of time for me to get my act together and take more pictures ... Keep checking in for the next blog!

Thanks guys
