As life passes, sometimes we experience events where you just have to be the bigger person, let things go, and know that malicious and hurtful people will get what’s coming to them in due time.
Personally, I don’t have time to waste on anger, jealousy, insecurity, and other petty B.S. I would rather dedicate my time and energy to creating and writing the best music that I can, playing shows, and living my life to the fullest.
Besides, those of you that know me realize that if you piss me off or do something fucked up I will write a song about it.
(Insert Evil laugh here).... The voice of reason…

I have to say, Mortal Madness has been through a lot in the past seven years. When I look back and see how much time has past, it blows my mind because it seems like it was only yesterday when we started this band, when we were writing our first songs together...doing our first demo...We've had our high times, great shows we've played, friends we've made, and like everyone else we've had our bad. This life is a crazy roller coaster ride. And you don't know where the track will end. Dave, Mike and I (Ally) have been through a lot together. We've been friends for seven years, and in that time we've grown as people and as musicians. But we have never found that perfect fit for the fourth chair in this band. The drum throne is a hard spot to fill. The positive side of Phil's departure is that we have had a lot of time to work on writing. Music has been pouring out of us like an overflowing toilet. We haven't been restricting ourselves to write in any particular style. By the end of summer, we will be releasing two albums. "Under the Influence" and "Hungover" We'll be debuting some new songs at unannounced acoustic venues and at shows in June. Which wouldn't be possible without the addition of a new drummer. For the time being, while we haze him into the band we are keeping his identity secret... the voice of reason

To all our friends, fans, and fellow musicians: Despite some rumors going around, we just want to reassure you that the Original CORE members (Mike T, Dave, Ally) Who have been playing together for six years now, and are the lyricists and composers of all our music, are still alive and well, working together and finishing up material for our second full length album, which is guaranteed to blow away our other album. Wait till you hear this shit!!! We are currently looking for a new drummer, please contact us for information and to set up an audition.

For those of you that don't play an insturment or play in a band, or for those of you that are just starting in a band, I just want to tell you what it takes to get this far. First, there are many many years of practicing your insturment and learning to play. Then there is the challenge of overcoming your fears and getting up on stage in front of a shitload of people knowing you could make a total ass of yourself. There are many years as an original artist writing songs, learning how to write songs and perfecting that craft. And of course there is always the challenge of finding the right people to do it with. Finding fans and people that want to listen to your music. Finding people that will support you along the way becase lord knows we all have our doubts at times. Finding distribution, finding promotion, finding a way to get the music you have created out there to the people that need to hear it. Finding a way to keep going when the chips are down and you have nothing. Finding a way to keep going when people screw you over and take advantage of you. Finding a way to never give up. It's inside each and every one of us, and if you are having doubts just close your eyes really tight for a moment, take a deep breath and search a little deeper within yourself. We are all born with the strength to forgive. We are all born with the strength to succeed. We are all born destined for greatness, and indeed it is a struggle to overcome all the obstacles and bullshit in the way...but eventually if you take a step every day you will reach the summitt of even the tallest mountain. And if you are lucky enough to find friends that will go the way with you, even if sometimes we kick a rock and knock each other down, in the end you will always have each other. So keep going. That is our creed. And thanks to all of you, the Madness Family, for believing. And for sharing our faith. METAL! the voice of reason Don't forget to call 1-860-525-WCCC and request Mortal Madness!

Last weekend, my favorite holiday came and passed and Mortal Madness started a new year of chaos.
Thursday night we played our local haunt Cherry Street Station, the coolest hometown metal bar around. The usual crowd was there, and thanks Dennis Holly and Chris for partying with us into the wee hours of the morning. The sun was coming up by the time I got home. Phil drank wayyy too much jager and slept on the bathroom floor Friday morning and still played the the three shows and kicked ass each night!we played with our buds AMIDO BLACK in New London for an all ages show at the Backstage Pass/El N Gee/Jinx. That club has an identity crisis. There were some really cool costumes. Burton got best costume in my book, only because I had no idea who he was! Also, this was a momentous occassion because it was our first show with 5, our new second guitar player. I'm telling you, I really expect Gliniak and Dave to be on the cover of Guitar World.
Saturday we played at Legends and met some really cool musicians and hung with good friends Bury the Weak. Dorothy and the Gladiator princess stole the guys hearts all night. We played too powerfully though, cause we shorted the circuits and the power at the bar went out!
Sunday we met Mongrel and another female fronted band who I don't know the name of but they were awesome, it was like Janis Joplin fronting a metal band. Worcester metal scene is going strong! Special thanks to the Tammany Hall sound guy who is great!
And after all that we are completely satisfied with the fact that after four shows, a long weekend, I still had a voice, and we all got up on Monday wishing we had another show that night!!!
I LOVE BEING IN A BAND! I just wish I could do this for a living. Thanks to all of you that came out to share this with us!

So Saturday's show was INSANE. We played at the Backstage in Groton, CT next to the strip club Roses Cantina When we got set up on the stage in walks four scantily clad dancers and they climb up on the stage with us and start dancing to our music! You can check out the pics on "Livin with the Madness" site, (Madness Mary). One of the strippers really took a liking to blue beard and was grinding up against him...
No, we didn't pay them to do this! I guess they just wated to feel the MADNESS:)
Also, if you ever get the chance to check this place out THE BACKSTAGE is is a small club but the stage is great. We had a lot of fun, and the owner is a really cool dude that likes to drink Absinthe...with a toasted sugar cube...
So for those of you that missed this show, you better show up next time!

THANK YOU Amido Black (You guys kicked ASS, as always) for putting us on the bill at the Backstage Pass (formerly the El N Gee) The show last night was unreal. One in your face band after another. I haven't had my eardrums blown out like that since the last Ozzfest I went to. I have to give it up to our new friends In the front rows last night, the energy last night was SSIIICCCKK...
For the aspiring musicians that we met, keep the faith and remember that to succeed at anything you need a shitload of hard work and sacrifice. Don't get discouraged, everyone pays their dues.
I know some of you were asking bout the new material, we are going into the studio again next month to get some tracks down (Including the song for Dimebag, "Till the End") As soon as they are mixed etc you'll be able to find them here first.
See y'all at the next show!

Now that we're off our little unexpexted break (no pun intended Phil),
We're back on the scene and experiencing the typical bullshit that bands go through.
For some reason, it is always every man/woman for himself. Everyone is extremely competetive. There are only so many record deals and so many shows and so many fans out there. You really don't know who your friends are.
For some people success comes easier than to others.
When I reflect on how far we have come in the past four years as Mortal Madness, and on everything that we have sacrificed to become this well oiled machine, I ask myself whether it was worth it...
I come up with the same answer every time.
Yes, it is worth it. For the fans that come up to us after the show and say hey, I really dug that song...for the people that request us on WCCC...
If our music reaches just one person who can connect with what we're feeling, what we've been through...then it is all worth it.
If my music inspires one more musician to pick up an insturment or a microphone, it's all worth it.
And for those of you that really know us personally, and everything that we sacrifice everyday, I just want to assure you that it is not in vain and we will prevail.
In the words of Phil Anselmo, "Never try, you either do it or don't waste my time."

Where there is pain and anguish and misfortune and catastrophe...where there is jealousy, rage and insecurity...where there are liars, backstabbers, beggars and thieves....Where there is humanity there is heavy metal.
For those people out there that do not understand...
There is a universal bond that brings us together. There is a strength within everyone. There is a good to every evil. A right to every wrong. Two sides to every coin. And for every photographer a different angle.
Where there is sickness, there is the chance to heal. For every death, there is a birth. For every war there is creation.
For every chasm, we can always build a bridge.
Though walls will crumble and fall, the bonds of love are the strongest of all...
For every catastrophe, for the six weeks that we aren't playing shows, there is a reason...
Mortal Madness is in a cocoon, biding our time, building our strength, we emerge with a new sound, a new purpose, renewed vitality...
Licking the wounds...
We are still going strong. Wait till you hear the new shit!!! Darker and heavier than ever...With all the loyalty and trust and damned determination that are the heart and soul of Mortal Madness.
Thank you for your support. It makes everything worth it. I still believe.
