so here are some pictures of our trip to and from and in austin texas.
first off, j.d. stooks in new mexico at a cowboy gas station

next, the guy who gets the award for most sleeping (or least awake time, if you will) on the whole trip... my new bass player rj

jd stooks guitarist mike in fredericksburg

jd sleeping in el paso

jd waking up in fredericksburg

jd's bassist marty strapped in for saftey

marty shortly after that (i seriously thought he was dead)

rico eating a lunchable

rj taking care of business

so now we're there and we're hungry... after not finding the casino el camino, we decide to go with the place who's sign reads ' we have food'

trying to make the lights on the trailer work

what are we doing? says rico

then we go to park/load up we parked at the hilton so this following caption isnt as cool as it sounds:
pedal steel matt in the elevator at the hilton

whil everone else was loading up, j.d. and i were being interviewed by ashley harris from asu's paper, and on the way we spotted peachcake with my friend jeremiah or as i like to call him... gayamiah. or just miah

showtime... i only got one of j.d.'s set becuase marty farty had my camera

limbeck (from stage left. you cant see too well from there)

kris roe of the ataris

the only picture of kris roe and i in existence, and its blurry. damnit

okay so this wasnt a band on the show, but they were playing outside and they were fucking jamming. i dont know their name but i gave them 5 dollars and a cd in their guitar case

hot dudes. hanging out. in austin.

i think i may have stolen this face from maggi magpie

by the way, that was right after we stole a parking meter cover/bag thing from a parking meter as you may or may not be able to tell by the mischevious face that mr. stooks is sporting.
oh so drunk (note j.d.'s limp wrist)

the streets were packed, not unlike the blind pig itself

last look at the state capital as we're leaving (for some reason i was fixated on it. i dont remember what was so awesome about it though. something about an ihop and a whataburger?

marty driving. shortly after, i took the wheel...

... and ran us out of gas. we miraculously found a gas station in the middle of nowhere and pulled in on fumes.

i dont think jd was happy to be waken up that way.
my bad!

i wonder if he's thinking "wow the scenery doesnt change at all over these three whole states."

and lastly, a cool sign
