Let me introduce you to Riki Hendrix!

Let me introduce you to Riki Hendrix

Riki and I became friends about a month ago, and he is wonderful. Kind hearted, and most humble person I have ever talked too. Which I fully respect. His wife Jenny, is just as nice. They make a great couple.

Anyways, Riki is Jimi Hendrix's cousin. Has a similiar sound to Jimi, but definately his own style and personality.

Anyways, I started a myspace site for Riki a few weeks ago. He had been in a bad accident a few years ago and had to stop performing. But he is back and in full force. Ready to wow the world with his music. He has worked with many great artists, like Buddy Miles and Billy Cox(Jimi's Band of Gypsy's). Just read his bio on his page and you see what I mean.

Blondy- swine flu update!!

Just wanted to update everybody here.

I am still fighting the swine flu. Hopefully getting over it, but definately not done with it. I was hit pretty hard with it.

I am sorry if I am not responding as much or talking as much. I have to take this virus day by day. And I am guessing it will be awhile, before I feel normal again.

I am better than I was, but still fighting leftovers. I am exhausted, depressed and so out of routine. Fighting the leftover tiredness, weakness, cough, etc, etc, etc. Lol. Its been a long haul.

A little bit longer.

The Mudmen's newest release called The High Road has astounded many people and made adoring fans out of them. Myself included!
They have raised the bar in our expectations of rock. They have merged two very diverse styles of music as we have traditionaly perceived them. Thrown the rule books to the wind! This sound is a marriage between ground shaking guitars mastered by Alex Maletich and Troy Spinney , Dylan Broda on Drums and the Bagpipes, played by Robby Campbell and Sandy Campbell.
The bagpipes course through your veins in these Rock based tracks, bringing your blood to the boiling point. This band has you eating out of their hand from the first track. Long have we craved a Rock band with this level of charisma! Flying kilts , excellent riffs and a strong masculine presence has the ladies swooning in their chairs and the men rocking right along.
Mordy Harroch's vocals are a perfect match for this strong Band. His voice takes charge and drives us deeply into the lyrics of each song. The title track, The High Road, is the first of 11 out of the gate. You know from the second it begins it isn't going to be like your daddy did it.
These boys have done something phenominal. It doesn't matter if it's a drinking song or a ballad, they have injected their own Mudmen Stamp on it. One you will not soon forget. This is a spectacular album. Without a doubt, one of the finest bands to ever incorporate the Bagpipes and Scottish based songs with hard hitting , bone crushing rock.
The tracks I have chosen to single out are:
1) Lift of the Kilt - This catchy track has such brilliant lyrics and melody! Mordy does a fantastic job with the vocals. Mordy will stay with you long after the song is done. His sexy voice taking center stage. He has a strong set of pipes and knows how to use them. Bagpipes & guitars are impressive ! The talent in this one band is over the top crazy!!

2) Dirty Old Town - This track starts off a sweet ballad absolutely gorgeous then bursts forth into a fast paced beat that will have you up dancing. You may even learn to jig to a dam fine rock beat! Exceptional lyrics, this is old school meets scotland! When the bagpipes break in goose pimples will rise on your skin! Bravo Morty, you nailed this one. Exceptional work , exceptional band
3) Raise A Pint - A rousing bagpipe led drinking song that has your blood racing in seconds! Raise a pint to you and to me! The instumentation is exceptional on this track. Morty sings this with such feeling, he is 100% sold on the lyrics. Dylan 's drum sticks must catch fire on this one. Just a brilliant fun song to warm the heart.
In closing let me say this, The Mudmen, Canada's pride and joy is spreading their wings and ready to fly. The High Road in my opinion, is unsurmountable! The Mudmen are a resounding success. You love Rock? You love Bagpipes? Your going to love this!!! I know we do.

The Fores are kicking some serious butt with this new release called Roll of The Dice!! The album is reminisent of the days when rock meant something. Electric guitar and bass driven, this band delivers the golden punch! The combined experience of each band member speaks for itself!

Cutting edge guitar work by Tom Iliffe simply stunning!! His solos are ingenious and inventive! He nails it on every track. His guitar work leaving a mark in your memory forever. His will be the standard of all guitarists to come.

Guy Snowdon has the Rock Star charisma thats takes this band to unreachable heights. He has a strength behind his vocals not seen since the days of The Who. A big 70's sound unheard of in todays market and missed. Guy's bass line is loud and proud!

Liam Hopkins is unbelievably gifted on the rhythm guitar and backup vocals. He shines!! Working seamlessly together with Guy's lead guitar, he polishes the tracks and breathes life into them.

Carl Brooker is in his element in these songs. He has a real gift of not only holding his own with these boys, but elevates the sound to sheer ecstacy. Your heart will pump along with Carl's perfect timing.

Good Lord , The Fores have it all going on in Roll Of The Dice. Just when you thought Rock was lost... here come The Fores to save the day!! Baby you got me!

The Three tracks that hit me hard and heavy were:

1) I'm Nobody - This is a rock - bluesy song highlighting Guy Snowdon's impeccable vocals. Tom Iliffe leads us on the ride of our lives with his excellent picking on the electric guitar.

2) It Took Me Years - This is a generous lyric telling us a great story and offering good advice!! Straight up brilliant guitar work, strong vocals. This sound is big. You will feel like you are there with them in concert. Fantastic mastering on this track. Old school definately dragged kicking and screaming into 2009. Absolutely top notch!!

3) Roll of the Dice - The Fores show us what they do like no one else with this title track. Rocking us till we can't be rocked no more!! The guitar section on this track with both Guy and Liam take no prisoners!! They clearly are in charge, leading us into a whole world of pleasure!!

Once you have tapped into The Fores - Roll The Dice you aren't going anywhere. You're not going to want to go anywhere. It is so nice to hear an album from beginning to end, without the urge to skip a track. This band has managed to put an album together that doesn't have a track on it that is the dud! They are all fantastic!! Over the top brilliant!! Congrats on this spectacular album guys! You did it!! Who says you can't have it all? Grab yourself an album today!!!
