Yep, I (Pete) am now living in The Netherlands, currently Amsterdam. So farewell to London - it's good to be out of that place. Of course, TCE writing and touring will continue as usual, just as it has since living in London, and The Netherlands should be a better place from which to tour Europe. Keep an eye out for the new TCE album, "Identity", due out any day now from Advoxya. A new Plague Sequence track will be released soon by Sector 9 and keep up to date with Shiv-r too.

Life is just returning to (sort of) normal after 3 gigs in Europe this weekend: 16th August in Estonia (with Hocico + Forgotten Sunrise), 17th in Latvia (with Hocico + Forgotten Sunrise + Novus UK) and 19th in Hungary (with Snog + Impact Pulse).
All the gigs went great, especially the 2 with Hocico. As a huge Hocico fan, I am very happy to say that the Mexican duo are incredibly nice, open, friendly and professional, without any rockstar bullshit. Including these gigs, I've seen Hocico 4 times, and they are one of the best live bands out there!
In Riga, Latvia, there were 350 people in a huge venue pressed against a crowd barrier, which was an experience I'll not soon forget. The 220 people in Tallinn, Estonia made a great party, and it was good to re-catch up with friends from Budapest, Hungary, that we made during our last gig there in April.
So to those that we met - it was great to meet you! Hope to keep in touch and see you again..
In September 08, myself and my wife Wendy leave London and move to Holland. Elenor is currently on tour as a member of Snog, with the next dates being Infest UK and EBMFest Canada. For the first time since I can recall, I don't have any upcoming gigs, but hope to do some more touring with TCE and hopefully with Shiv-r next year.
-Pete

Thanks to Darklife Zine for bringing this review to our attention for our 2006 EP "Blurred Edges".
-The Crystalline Effect - Blurred Edges EP (Self-released) An ever increasingly popular line-up in the world of goth and electro-goth and goth-tinted electronica is the male at the instruments supporting and/or supported by striking female vocals. Out of Melbourne are Peter Crane (the man behind the synths and Elenor Rayner, the sweet'n'bitter muse of this project. Blurred Edges offers a whopping 35 minutes of playing time, in the form of 7 tracks covering a wide ground in terms of electronic sonorities, whose backbone is essentially made by those dance sounds made popular around the turn of the century (ehee.. now we can say that too!) by an army of bands who started pushing into their compositions the healthy wave of technological growth that blessed hard and software synths alike. With titles like When The World Ends, Another Rainy Day or Why Do I Hate Myself, the tracks get suitable darker layers of synths to help convey the mood. The electronic approach is in general quiet eclectic, incorporating a variety of elements and influences and brewing the classical "band's unique take on it" that we often hear of these days. My personal favourites lay at the two ends of the spectrum: the melancholy fueled, trip-hop-ish When The World Ends, which is possibly the best cut of this work, and the upbeat Gabriel (stark remix), one clearly tailored to the dancefloor crowd, a dancefloor hymn if you like, moving closer to industrial territory. After the demise of Polish Black Flames who had released their debut Glass back in 2005, The Crystalline Effect have found home with Hungarian-based Advoxya Records and are working with some well-known remix artists for a new EP scheduled to be released sometimes in April 2007. www.thecrystallineeffect.com -Gianfri

Plague Sequence and Club PlusOne team up once again to present a great clubbing experience in London.
On July 18th at the Lord Nelson on Holloway Rd in London, which should be familiar as the former home of club Dead & Buried, Plague Sequence will present a live set of beatmatched industrial psytrance with vocals, once again featuring the visuals and extra stage presence of VJ Straylight.
Expect a variety in music from the DJs, spinning everything from Dark Soho to Combichrist to Depeche Mode. Print out the flyer and come before 11pm for £3 entry, otherwise £5 all night.
Plaguesequence.com has just been overhauled and includes some cool new features worthy of a second look, such as an embedded music player with 5 tracks. The debut full-length album "Discarded Technology" is still available from Sector 9 Studios (ex-home to Negative Format, God Module, System Syn, Parralel Project and Heliosphere). www.sector9studios.com
