Current mood:My lungs are in pain...
My Mate Steve asked this question on yahoo:
In a world that is in chaos politically, socially and environmentally, how can the human race sustain another 100 years?

Heres My Answer!

Hey Steve (And everyone else)

There is no easy answer to this question, but there is also nothing to fear. Any observant character would notice the cyclical nature of life on earth, and indeed our solar system. This is something that has been observed and noted and celebrated throughout human history, and indeed the history of the amazingly peculiar universe which has somehow manifested itself here. I'm sure many will disagree on how it (the universe) and us (humans) got here, but one thing is fairly certain: WE ARE HERE! In fact nobody can remember us NOT being here. Even though it is still perfectly possible that we didnt exist at all.
Human history and mythology is littered with near misses. The story go's so far back that we are unsure of when it was told for the first time. But it always shows the same pattern with some variation. A lot like spring, summer, autumn and winter, or the waxing and waning of the moon. Always there is a repeating cycle. The Egyptians knew it, Mayans knew it, the Babylonians knew it as did the Greeks and countless other cultures past. The Hindus still teach it as do native American tribes. The story has been preserved in many mythologies and it always ends the same. The human autumn comes like a galactic wind sweeping over the planet at the same time of year. We decay and die out, old leaves drop off and die, becoming compost over the winter. As the cold settles in and the decay becomes the stasis of winter we enter a cacoon. We sleep and dream of history past, we mutate like all consuming catipillars in a cacoon, jellyfied primal ooze. And then when all seems dead and gone green shoots peer out from underneath the frost and with that so do we, cleansed and redeemed, spring has begun again.

So the cycles continue, each time we emerge we are more concious of our existence. Or at least there are more of us who are concious. In times gone by the majority of us were barely aware of our existence. And it would seem that there are still many who dont have this basic awereness of themselves and most importantly OF OTHERS EXISTENCE. The truth is slowley but surely humans are actually evolving in the right direction, even though it seems to be getting worse. Dont worry, there are more now who are concious and aware of the universe we live in and of ourselves and eachother. In fact this awareness could not exist without a bit of chaos and general wrongness. The cycle of life would go from terahertz, to gigahertz, to megahertz finally dropping to nothing.... NO THING.

I would love to see us move further out into the cosmos. But this is not the first step in survival, we already live on a spacship we call earth and it may actually not be the first we have inhabited. The first step to our ultimate survival is for us to realise how precious this gift of existence is and that we will ultimately have to put our differences aside, surely any human can see that the only human that is vaguely better than any other is the one who will throw aside any petty beliefs created from fear and insecurity and desperation, and accept their fellow humans.

We are all here together, surely people have noticed that. We may be alone in the world but this is something we all share. Everyone ultimately wonders why and how we got here, everyone is born naked and dies alone. There is no greater equality than this. We all exist and no matter what we own, or buy, or monumentalise we are all still the same inside. When we come to terms with this we will reach a new rungon the ladder of cosmic evolution. A new wavelength, a new frequency band to cycle around on.

Dont fret fellow man, the multivers is eternal and you are all made of the same universe. The more intense it becomes here on our little blue dot the more likely we are to keep intact on the next level of the great holodeck adventure.

Keep the faith no matter what faith yo are, and stop bickering at eachother. No true God would ever demand that we kill eachother and no human worth keeping in the gene pool for the next milennia's worth of existence (including colonisation of the universe) would even think they are superior to anyone or anything else that lives in an infinite universe on a very small planet made mostly of space.

Dont worry, its all gonna be Ok my man! Its the self compiling mega story that never existed ;)

Steve if you read this I just want to say you have been a major inspiration in my life and not to worry there is no way that anyof this can stop existing, if it did it would only be a cosmetic overhaul ;)

Loads of love dude

Knock Knock!!

"Whos there?" Comes a slightly annoyed response from behind a fairly average working class door.

"The Association for International Cancer research," I say calmly, "Ive come to ask you for your hard earned Dosh... Its a good cause, honestly... I think..."

"Well I already subscribe to those other people... The International Association for Cancer research." Is the response I get...

"Seriously we are much better than them, our semantics are better..."

Life as a door to door charity fund raiser sucks, its a thankless job done by people who care. Well they care at first anyway. Just like the poor donors, my heart gos out to them, selflessly donating to causes which will save man from his destiny with fire. At least untill they get annoyed by the constant stream off pisstaking companies using forcefull or devious means to make their targets.

Im not saying that charity is wrong, in fact its great. I like to know there are people looking after the world while I make a mess of myself as I blunder through my twenties, trying to make sense of my existence.

But after working for three seperate fundraising companies ive realised two things.

1)They dont really care about much... theyre sales people just like anyone else and it pains me to think that this for some reason is the most effective way for charities to get the ongoing support of the western world. Not all charities are that good either, many of them are just interfering with nature and hindering the people they seek to aid by doling out vast quantities of food sponsored by the likes of Monsanto and friends. GM for the masses, you may be able to eat it, but that doesnt mean its good for you.

2) A lot of people in the world just dont care and feel a bit hard done by themselves, as they sit there playing on their Ultra Station DS 64's or watch East Enders on a radiation pulsing opium machine called television. Every now and then thinking about that nice thing they saw advertised.

If we want to sort shit out in this world its down to the people ultimately. Maybe there would be less cancer if we all smiled more often, yeah thats what I think, its not gamma rays or smoking that causes cancer. No, its the issues behind gamma rays and smoking that cause cancer. Negative energy. The same go's for clubbing seals and HIV, if you look at the bad things going on in this world they are all caused by nothing more than a complex interaction between humans and fear and Negativaty.

I quit my third fund raising job, why? I took it out of fear, fear that if I didnt I would starve and god forbid... not get to my new job in bangalore.

Bugger that, if we all stop being so terrified of one another and started hugging more and just not worrying about crap and start acting more positively things will get better. This isnt hippy tree hugging stuff this is logic. When things are done with negativaty the end result is that there is more negativaty... if we do more positive stuff there will be more positive stuff in the world, now doesnt that make a lot of cents?

Current mood:  awake

Last night I started lucid dreaming again, I didnt have total controll like I used to but I was aware that I was somewhere else, not here like watching a movie from inside the charachter. It wasnt the regular stylee of post apocalypse drama im accustomed to. You know the one... Tsunamis and earth quakes, always running from the water. I havnt had one of those in a while. They seemed to stop after I saw the big one in India. It changed my life as well as my dreams.

No this dream last night was different, it involved them... the ones that chase you, you can run wherever you want. You can even fly into someone elses dreamspace to get away, but they will follow. Its best not to let them follow you into someone elses head. I wish I had remembered what Cyclotron had said about making yourself invisible. He says when they are after you you should put yourself into a space where you become whatever is around you. Project your conciousness into a solid object and wait for them to go away, or hide out till you wake up.

I didnt remember this, I felt myself chewing adrenalin, eating fear. Every corner I turned they were there waiting, the sum total of all my fears and insecurities as a human. I find the best way is to face them head on. Break their necks or turn them into flowers if you have your wand with you. When you wake up you may be sweating but you will be one demon less.

I think tonight I will send myself to a feild of flowers instead.
