In one of the more creative charity proposals we've received, Involved Events have put together a psuedo World Cup auction, featuring most of the countries involved in the World Cup, represented by a DJ/band from that country. By represented, we mean, you can ebay bid on an World Cup uniform shirt, autographed by the DJ/band from that country chosen by Involved to represent them.

Example: Us = represent Australia. Hernan Cattaneo = represent Argentina. Christopher Lawrence = represent USA. DJ Baloo = represent Saudi Arabia.

All the proceeds go to Unicef on behalf of Involved.

Check out www.involvedevents.com for the details and http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZinvolvedeventsQQhtZ-1 for the auction.

Current mood:Trying To Write Music
That's pretty much it. We're going to be fairly quiet for the next couple of months as we work on album ..3. We've got a tour through parts of Asia in August, but its pretty much unknown after that.

In the meantime, our track with Cagedbaby, 'Bordeaux' is out now on Southern Fried.

Current mood:  touched

We've finished every one of our US tour dates now - including an absolute cracker in Chicago this past Saturday - and have just tonight landed in LA to think hard about Coachella this weekend.

So far, our video guy (listed on our rider as "Visual Design Director") James is on his own, flying from Sydney to LA right now, to join us so he can bring out the visuals during our set. He spent the past weekend creating new material by the DVD load so he's confident it will look neat. And there's no chance people will mistake us for Hybrid if there's a big "INFUSION" flashing on the screens behind us.

Secondly, our sound engineer Ben called to say he won't be able to make it to Coachella in time. Drats. He knows us well and makes us sound good. So we have to kick on without him, and either find a replacement or go it alone. Must talk to our agent about that tomorrow.

We want to thank everyone that has come to the US shows - they've been really, really fun and a lot of people have taken it upon themselves to show us around their city and entertain us on our days off.

See you Coachella goers on Saturday.

We're happy to announce 9 brand new tour dates in the US, including one of our dream festivals, Coachella.

Yep, we're still touring 'Six Feet Above Yesterday' - and on this tour we're going to a couple of cities yet not visited (Cleveland, Seattle).

While we may consider ourselves hardened tourers, we still all danced around the studio like giddy girls when the call came that we'd been added to the Coachella line-up; the final date on the 5 week tour. We'll be doing something special for that performance, so try and make time for us on that weekend if you happen to be going.

We've still got a few more tour dates to announce, so if your local city isn't on the list, it may still appear in the next couple of weeks - keep checking in.

See you all soon.

Current mood:  nostalgic

It's been a long time since we've been posting, but its time to offer some excuses...

(a) in October-December we toured pretty much every week- interstate, overseas and included far-off lands never before heard of - and our parents came close to posting missing persons reports.

(b) from December through to the end of January we had our first holiday in a really, really, long time. We played NYD shows in the middle of it, but for the rest, we just did our own things and had a break.

(c) Now we're back writing music and preparing for the next US tour.

So we have posted some tour dates - just some Australian shows and the two major festivals we'll be playing at on our next US tour. Many more dates to come - but get your tickets for Coachella now.

We're also behind on writing back to those who have been emailing us through Myspace - try and get us on info@infusion.net.au if possible - we tend to get through those a bit quicker.

Oh, and while we played NYD in Perth, Zombie Nation was playing a live set before us - really, really impressive. Check him out.

From www.new-noise.net (Matt Hill) If two singular statements could possibly dissuade a potential listener from checking out a piece of previously unheard music, Infusion can unfortunately be graced with both. 1) They’re influenced by Depeche Mode; 2) They’re Australian. Yes, we can see the queue for the door from here. But come back, ye of little electro-pop faith. Why these may be two of the furthest things from cool ever uttered, let’s get the facts straight: 1) Depeche Mode are authors of two of the greatest albums ever recorded (‘Violator’ and ‘Songs Of Faith And Devotion’, with two handfuls of quality recordings well worth anyone’s time; and 2) for your information, truly transcendent Australian musical luminaries include the mighty Regurgitator and… er… hmm… OK, we’ll give you that one. And yes, we know Midnight Oil are bloody Australian. Yet, similar to their Melbourne brothers Regurgitator in magpie-like non-conformity if not actual musical like-mindedness, Infusion’s Frank Xavier, Manuel Sharrad and Jamie Stevens have developed a cult-like fanship seemingly below the radar of much of the mainstream. A club following, cultivated by a series of well-received 12”s, DJ allegiance (Paul Oakenfold and Pete Tong are fully paid-up admirers, apparently) and the inevitable hails from niche mags such as Muzik and Mixmag, has seen the Infusion sound grow from mere house anthems to a more satisfying, multi-faceted beast. Their second full-length ‘Six Feet Above Yesterday’ is a sprawling, uncompromising beauty of an album. It runs the gamut of synth-soaked excess, dropping in on straightforward chart numbers via industrially loaded edginess and strobed nightclub epiphanies. The likes of ‘Best In Show’ and ‘Better World’ are kin to The Rapture’s Mode revivalisms, tapping into the bare emotions of Martin Gore’s compositions but updating the production and impact to effectively translate this to a generation quickly turning ‘retro’ into a dirty word. Elsewhere, ‘Invisible’ is a majestic Gore-esque ballad relocated to Vangelis’s bleak Blade Runner landscape and ‘Girls Can Be Cruel’ is a Boom Boom Satellites riff-heavy, one-note dance number, hinting initially at the Prodigy/Pop Will Eat Itself mash-up ‘Their Law’ before clearly enjoying the pilled-up club vibe too much to be bothering with that boring, outdated ‘rebellion’ nonsense. Yet it’s the vocal-less, euphoric sound of ‘Love And Imitation’ – that of New Order transported to the 21st century – which lodges in the imagination. And I don’t mean the bearded, old has-beens fumbling with guitars and lyrical ineptitude we are actually cursed with; this is as if Bernard Sumner and Co had just started today, a rebirth of innocent and uplifting electro-pop, as on hearing ‘Bizarre Love Triangle’ for the first time. All over again. No wonder it was one of John Digweed’s top-five tracks of last year, and even spawned a remixed and lyric-laden spin-off single, ‘Natural’, which finishes off the album as gloriously Mode-like as it began. Yet for all the comparisons to the past, Infusion importantly sound of today, literally drenched in ideas and new angles. Having just had their fourth ARIA (Australian music awards) nomination, they can be added to a rare breed of outfits, such as The Chemical Brothers and The Crystal Method, who have the implicit ability to repackage dance music for the most insular of rock fans while never losing sight of the genre’s fundamentals: energy, invention, and damn good tunes. It’s certainly time you all tuned in.

This week we are working on a remix for Meat Katie & Elite Force - we thought we had done a good job, but on re-listening this week, we decided it could definitely be better. Back to the drawing board, then. The good from the weekend: *Happy Birthday James Zabiela, love your personalised limo as provided by the promoters. *Yay for the ever-lovely Hernan Cattaneo, who offered to swap set times with us when our gear did not arrive on our flight. *All three gigs: Romania, Dance Valley and Crete - all great crowds. The bad from the weekend: *KLM Airways. What's up with charging us $500 excess and then not even putting our gear on the flight? In honour of James Zabiela growing older this week, we are listening to:
