Looking for a friend/tour guide

..

I am planning a relocation to Albuquerque, N.M. from Philadelphia, PA.
For those that ask why, Albuquerque is totally different from what I
know and I am way over due for something new in my life.
I plan on visiting in March, during the National Fiery Foods/Barbecue
Show or the Rio Grande Arts and Crafts Festival. I would love to have a
friendly person to hang out with or something like that. I will only be
in town on this first trip three days and two nights, but I don't want
to spend alot of time in my room.
I want to get a feel for the sections of the city that I feel I want to
live in as well.
I hope to hear from you soon.

I have a number of responses from people whom live in or around Albuquerque and I have decided to share them.
Well first let me say hey to you I am from Cherry Hill NJ
orginally. Well to get to business about this place I live in the
suburbs outside of Albuquerque a town called Rio Rancho. This place
is special really special things are down slow here and backwards.
I have been here for 3 years to long so i am on my way out. I have
to finish one more term at University of New Mexico and then I am
out. It takes some getting used too the black men here don't really
care for the Black women here and if your gay that a whole another
beast . I work in another town go to school here so look give me a
call when you get a chance.  I'll try to help you find what you are looking
for - 1/21

I would love to meet and hang out. I have to admit that I am not very
active in the alternative lifestyle locally, because I have not had
another sister or brother to attend munches with; perhaps that will
change when you move here. I am an Albuquerque native and love nothing
better than to show new residents the ropes, especially my brothers and
sisters. Please feel free to call and ask any questions you have. I
look forward to making your transition as smooth as I can. - 1/18

greedings and welcome to the southwest side of the USA. i am a male

well.. i am starting off to design some breast restains .. ;) there is
so much out there to explore and redesign .. the one bug i am trying to

there are so many nice people out here.. becareful .. its a cultural
shock.. but once you get into it . its smooth going... take care hon..

Although, I was unable to attend the Harlem Book Fair this year, I did what the panel discussions aired on Book TV C-Span. Unfortunately, I can not tell you they will be televised again, but I believe you can view them via the Harlem Book Fair homesite.

Watching these panels have inspired the subjects for the weeks show in Chatting with Shanise B.'s 'The State of Me In The World' . Some of the issues I will touch on will be:

*

Symbolism;
*

Civil Rights;
*

The Hip Hop Generation;
*

The 'New' Way of Oppression;
*

Education;
*

Our 40 Acres and a Mule;
*

Bicentennial of the Abolition of the Slave Trade;
*

and a few other issue, had I been there I would have raised;

There were a number a books that I have added to my wishlist and to The Book Nook.

Shining a Light on Great Indie Music.

PHILADELPHIA, PA MARCH 2, 2008: Brooklyn, New York's Indie Rock Artist, Tamar-Kali and her 'Your Girl' from the Geechee Goddess Hardcore Warrior Soul EP will be showcase during The Akua Lounge Spotlight on The Flow Live.Com with Hostess Shanise B.
