Cheers to Pete "birthday boy" Mills for coming up on stage and jamming a smoking funk version of Lenny Kravitz's Are You Gonna Go My Way with us. Not bad for an old boy! Thanks also to everyone who bought a copy of our album and a special thanks to the breakdance girl in the pink top for the kind words Hopefully catch you at the next show?
We're working on some new music over the next week or so (stay tuned for more info on this!) but we're playing live again at Island Bar, Birmingham on February 27th. Check out gig page for more info! (link will open in a new window)

If you've got 30 seconds to spare you can vote for us now by visiting http://www.xfmuploaded.co.uk/lazyj With enough votes we can hopefully get some of our tunes on the radio!

Well, it's taken a bit longer than we anticipated but, joy of joys, our online shop is now up and running. This means that wherever you are in the world you can now order our album via our secure encrypted server using Paypal.
A big thankyou to all those folks who have already supported us by buying our album. And for the rest of you, visit our online shop and place your order! This will enable us to get back into the studio before Christmas to start laying down some of the bare-bones of the next album.
We'll get the Lazy J t-shirts loaded up into the shop ASAP too.

Rehearsals and gig preparation
10/06/2008
Ah, the joys of rehearsing in the height of summer. For once even Plant had to admit that it was hot in the rehearsal room. Frank, when are you sorting out the air-con?! With the Asylum show coming up on Saturday we ran through a provisional set, although it remains to be seen what sort of crowd the "Really Hot Chilis" will bring along with them. Will it be the kids who only know the airplay fodder material from Californication onwards or will there be fans who remember the old glory days of "One Hot Minute"? We'll see.
Anyhow, after running enough tracks for the Saturday set, we still had time to get back to the tracks we've been working on recently. One that stands out from recent writing sessions is a track we've dubbed "The Train Part II" as it's a heavy mother of a tune with a real rip-your-face-off riff. It's got a dirty feel with a dose of double-bass drum from Pip in the middle eight. He says he's not sure if this will make it into the final cut of the song but for now it's staying!
First gig at the new Asylum
15/06/2008
We played our first show at the Asylum in Hockley, Birmingham last night. For those who haven't heard of it yet, The Asylum is a very cool new venue owned by Roy and Jaci of Madhouse Rehearsal Studios fame.
We were expecting something a little bigger than Liggers (Roy and Jaci's cozy bar above the actual rehearsal rooms in Madhouse) but we were stunned by the sheer size of The Asylum in comparison! It's got a huge stage, great lighting rig, an awesome backstage area for the bands and barstaff who all dress up as nurses in a kind of Marilyn Manson pinup way. Sweeeeet.
A big thanks to all those who came down to see the show (in spite of the slightly heavyweight ticket price!) and thanks to Roy, Jaci and Anna for booking us. Hopefully see you again soon guys.
Codes, codes and more codes
17/06/2008
A big thankyou to Jim (Mouse) at Indie Mobile down in Brizzle for helping us out this week with UPC codes and cat numbers for the new album release. Thanks for all your help fella!
This sees the final piece of the puzzle in place and we can now get the album artwork sent off to the printers and get this album pressed and distributed!
Peace and Love The Lazy J boys xx
