hey everyone,

I just wanted to write and let everyone know that the amazing folks at Midmarch Records and Magic Bullet Records are releasing a split LP w/ Balboa and a killer band from the UK called The Plague Sermon!  Both labels will have exclusive colors available in their mail-orders and available from both bands!  This release will only be available on vinyl, no digital or cd. Just killer awesome WAX!

You can check out The Plague Sermon here:

http://www.myspace.com/theplaguesermon

We are honored and stoked to be a part of this split. I have heard the Plague Sermon stuff already and let me say, its fucking awesome. Just fyi, the Balboa material is totally exclusive to this release!

We will have more information for you soon on where to order and all that jazz.

thank you,

- Drew::Balboa

We just got back from our 9 day tour last night and had our farewell show in Philly and had such an amazing time. We had the honor of touring with our Philly BFF's Rosetta for the last 4 dates of the tour and played nearly the entire tour with our new friends in North from AZ.  They are a stellar band and totally amazing and true gentlemen as well.  Please check them out when you have a chance:

We will miss you guys! I hope Armando didn't get you too f'd up last night.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to see us on our tour as well and everyone that came out to the Philly show to show your support for some old Punk dudes playing their hearts out, you have no idea how much it means to us to see everyone and enjoy the time we spent together.

I want to thank everyone who gave us a place to stay, promoted the shows and fed us and treated us with the utmost care.  The list is endless and I guaranteed I personally thanked each and every one of you. If not, I apologize, let me know and I'll call you up and thank you!

I special thanks to all the great bands we played with aside from Rosetta and North, thank you so much! Sea Of Bones, Sons Of Montana, Souvenirs Young America, Isthmus, Astronomer, Stressed Out, The G, Inswarm, Voyager and Hull, you guys were amazing! If i forgot anyone, I apologize.

Duncan, Smooches brother! you Rock!

Hey Everyone,

An AMAZING independent record store called Siren Records (who has been nothing short of amazingly supportive of Balboa and our other projects (Elder and Towers) and a lot of local bands to be honest) is in some dire need and I want to help spread the word and the information from their most current blog to try and help save what they have worked so hard to create!

Please read the info, go to their site and give them your support if you have ever enjoyed a show there or bought records there!

From their blog:

Siren needs your help

Hello.

Here's the update on our situation. As we mentioned in our last blog, on Friday, June 20th, our doors were closed due to what we believe was a misunderstanding between us and our landlord. We had known that he was unhappy with us being there and we, for many reasons, were having a hard time maintaining the store in that space. We were in the midst of trying to resolve this situation when the landlord decided to essentially kick us out of our store.

At this point, we need to raise about $20,000 by July 18th to get our things back, cover legal expenses, and move to a new location so we can start over again. This is a tricky situation because our landlord won't let us open the store again without the $20,000, and it's awfully hard to make that money without being able to sell CDs and records.

As many of you have already read from our bulletins and from our blurb on our myspace page, if you would like to help us re-open in town, we are accepting donations through Paypal. The link is on our myspace page. The Doylestown Bookshop and Basically Burgers have also put donation jars out to help us. Also, Circa Survive have posted a downloadable B-Side on their website. Just go to the following site: http://donate.circasurvive.com/. The proceeds from this download will go towards helping Siren, too. We are also working on some benefit concerts. More details on that soon!

We thank everyone who has donated so far and to those who plan on donating soon. Your generosity is deeply appreciated. And we thank everyone who is helping us get the word out there. We hope to be able to resolve this problem soon and to be able to remain a part of Doylestown for years to come.

Again, if you would like to make a donation to help save our store, you can go to our myspace site (myspace. com/sirenrecords_electric) and make a secure donation (in any size) using a debit card, bank account or credit card.
Or download "The Most Dangerous Commercials" by Circa Survive at http://donate.circasurvive.com/.
OR, if you can't donate anything but you still want to help, get the word out there! Here is a link that one of our customers created. Feel free to post it wherever you can. It brings you right to out mypace site:
SAVE SIREN

EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS! Keep checking in for more information about upcoming Benefit Concerts and other events.

We are confident that we can pull through this and re-open very soon. Thank you for your help.

hey Everyone,

Just wanted to give you an update on everything, Balboa are planning a 2 week tour this summer in the month of August.  We are planning to playing select dates with our good friends Rosetta and maybe Aussitot Mort from France if they can make it over here from France.

Everyone met up this thursday (as Dave (guitars) was back from Chicago) and we rolled through our songs / set as if we never took a break, the songs sounded better than ever, it was very uplifting and inspiring for not playing together for almost a year.  We also have a new song written that we will potentially play on tour.

Talk to you soon!
