This purpose of the DB Street Team is to be proactive fan club promoting the band. Please join the fan club, visit www.dressybessy.com or email DB at dbessy@comcast.net and come here to do your part by spreading the word, sharing the music and the love that is Dressy Bessy. I absolutely love and adore Dressy Bessy and I have for the last five years since seeing But I am Cheerleader in 1999. I have had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with them a few times. Tammy, John and Rob agreed to the idea of starting some form of street team in addition to their website. hugs + kisses, Carrie-Anne

Hi!

It looks like a new album late next summer .... I know, it sounds like a long time, but ah, what's another year?! ... possible west coast & Texas tour dates coming up for November 2006!

Still rocking out to the new eponymous titled Dressy Bessy lp, Dressy Bessy featuring 11 new songs and a bonus DVD with an animated video and live performances at CBGB?s and this year?s SXSW. I thought they were adorably cute live, but animated they?re darling like The Powerpuff Girls meets The Breeders. You just want to pinch these kid?s collective cheeks and pat them on the head. They are by far the nicest rock stars I ever met.
I met them, again, before the Denton show in the parking lot to give them a copy of pictures I had taken in June. They remembered me, thanked me for the pics and signed my poster. Tammy Ealom immediately recognized me. We talked for a couple of hours, hung out in her van, (Todd and another Dressy Bessy fan, Allison and me), we tried on her dresses, she showed us her clothes and new multi-colored fishnets. We talked mainly about her love of ?Twiggy/Mod? dresses oppose to my ?kinderwhore/babydoll?, where to shop to find the best thrift-stores, her adventures touring through Texas, what she listens to including obscure indie pop stuff, local Denver stuff, The Hollies and Dressy Bessy, loving the new album and her bandmates. They will be back in later this fall as they continue touring supporting the new lp. She complimented my complexion claiming that it must be the good weather in Texas. And how I look adorably cute and all of twelve.

Still rocking out to the new, eponymous titled Dressy Bessy album, Dressy Bessy, the band?s third full-length effort, featuring eleven new songs and a bonus DVD with an animated cartoon and live performances including footage from New York?s CBGB?s and 2003?s SXSW performance. Inspired by 1960s mod rock groups like The Hollies, the Denver-based, seven-year-old, four-piece band features tight and fast rock with John Hill of Apples in Stereo on lead guitar balancing against the delicate, child-like and often simply shy and girly vocals of Tammy Ealom. Dressy Bessy perfects the kindergarten rock with infectiously happy, toe-tapping, tambourine shaking, sweet-as-saccharin, poppy music with luscious, thick, electric, rock chords for an indie pop-punk-rock sound. Sounding like The Breeders partnered up with The Powerpuff Girls to rock out, fight crime and spread sunshine for an upcoming Saturday morning cartoon special.
Highlights of the new album features Girl, You Shout!, This May Hurt (a Little), Georgie Blue and Baby Six String. On Girl, You Shout! the lyrics ?go around and around/tag along with me? is more of an invitation echoing of playground taunts. On Georgie Blue and Baby Six String, John Hill and former drummer, Darren Albert, join in singing back-up vocals tracks in mock-falsetto voices complimenting Ealom. For the most of their discography spanning seven years, Dressy Bessy?s lyrics center around buying thrift-store dresses, guitars, lipstick, road trips and sunshine and the latest album isn?t any exception.
