Anime Expo is kind of like Christmas morning: You get the excitement and anticipation of wondering/celebrating/lamenting what is or isn't announced, but others have to do the really heavy lifting. ;-)

I spent a few hours at the office doing my PR thing because Right Stuf's panel was today, and we had a few announcements...

  • NEW LICENSE! We'll be bringing VICTORIAN ROMANCE EMMA stateside and releasing both seasons -- the second of which is just finishing its run on Japanese TV -- as "season box sets" with English subtitles. I'm really psyched about this because this series is very much what a Jane Austen novel would be like if it were made into an anime. (I had to grin when I saw a fan describe it this way because that's exactly how I've been thinking about EMMA from the start. ^_^) Anyway, check out our announcement for it.
  • NEW COLLECTION! In addition to literary-style, Victorian dramas, we'll be releasing a thinpak collection for LOST UNIVERSE. Many many fans describe this series as "SLAYERS in space," and given the creative team involved, it's warranted. The novels that inspired both series were written by the same person, and the anime versions share both the same director and character designer. The single DVDs have been out-of-print for a while now -- and increasingly difficult to find -- so this is pretty cool to hear.
  • If you've been thinking about holding off on pre-ordering/buying THE THIRD, Vol. 1 because you wanted a box, you now have NO EXCUSE to procrastinate! The DLK went on the record with the announcement that we will definitely be producing an art box to hold the six volumes of this series. We'll be announcing which volume at a later date, but there will be one.
Now back to work. My job SO rocks! ^_^

If you're my friend -- or someone who reads my ramblings regularly -- check out this link.

Enjoy the first episode of THE THIRD for FREE -- yes, free anime(!) -- and find out why I've been such a slacker with both posting and my regular sites over the last few months. (The show is that good, and I'm not saying this because I do the PR/marketing for it.)

Gator Basketball rocks!

OMG! That game was phenomenal, and my Gators are now the BCS National Champs!! XD

Some other, cool Gator Athletics facts:

  • This means the Gators are the National Champs during the football's 100th anniversary year!
  • This is the first time EVER(!) that the same school has had the national titles for both football and basketball!

It's incredibly awesome that Chris Leak, our senior quarterback, is finally getting his due, and even more awesome because for some odd reason we're always, mysteriously the underdogs. What's with that? And doesn't Coach Meyer rock?!?

YAY! Go, Gators!! :-)

My abundantly talented clients, The Prodigals, will be playing the "Big Room" at CD101, Columbus, Ohio's fabulous indie alternative station, TODAY (Friday!) at NOON, as part of the big ramp-up to this weekend's Dublin Irish Festival.

Here's the really cool part: If you have access to an Internet connection and speakers, you can listen to the program live, as it's happening. Just go to the CD101 Web site, and hit the "Listen Live" button on the top-left. (You don't even have to download anything. Just crank your speakers!)

12 noon. Friday, August 4. Enjoy! :-)

Been a bit mad lately, and at least a couple of you on my friends list know why. ;-)

So it was about time to switch from Death Cab for Cutie's "Crooked Teeth" to "Feel Good Inc." It's a little closer to the pace I have to keep this week.

(I wish the Gorillaz would put "Every Planet We Reach Is Dead" on their MySpace. It's one of my favorite tracks on the disc, and I'll be very surprised if it receives any airplay.)
