NEW WEBSITE IS UP UP UP! After over a year without an official website, we're pleased to announce that www.sweetjaponicmusic.com is ready to go. A little background story on the website: We had the website 90% done over a year ago and then our web designer decided to leave town without telling us. He also neglected to give us back the 50% payment we had already given him. We were left poor, upset, and website-less. We finally started working on the site again before the new year, and now its ready to go! We'll be continually updating the site with new information, media, stories, and more. Be sure to check in on a regular basis to keep up to date with new band information!
NEW MERCHANDISE
We have new designs picked out for t-shirts. We will be sending out an additional newsletter regarding a merchandise pre-sale within the next week or so. Information will also be available on our website, myspace, facebook, etc. The pre-sale will offer shirts at a discounted price and will get your name in a drawing for free SJ stuff and/or free admittance to an upcoming show! Keep an eye out for more information soon! HEADING INTO THE STUDIO
The band will be heading into the studio during the first week of February! New songs are currently being written and we plan to be releasing a new album in late May / early June. Here is a little bit from Lucas about the upcoming project... First, a belated thank you to all who donated at the last Billy's show to help my family, I can't say thank you and God bless you enough. Second.....NEW ALBUM!!!! Finally laying down some tracks we've been working on for a while now. Something a little different this time around, we're setting up shop in a cottage north of town. Our good friend Chris will be filming the session so look for the clips on the website soon. We're going in a little bit of a new direction with this album and are hoping to have a single out in a month or so. You might even here a new tune or two in some upcoming shows. New Sweet J shirts coming out, new website, new tunes, it's going to be a exciting year for us and we want you along for the ride. Till next time.....
-Lucas
NEW SJ CREW
As many of you are already aware, the band is sporting a new touring lineup for 2009. To kick off the new year, we have also created a new management crew for the band. We're very happy to have Ben Spetoskey joining us as our promotional intern. Ben will be helping us on various promotion projects and we're glad to have him along to help the band grow. Ben will be joining Matt Paparella (Booking) & Ryan Braman (Business Mgr) to help Sweet Japonic break into the 'next level.' 2009 is going to be an exciting year!
2009 FESTIVALS, TOURS, & MORE
We're in the process of planning and booking shows for Spring and Summer of 2009. We'll be submitting to festivals throughout the Midwest and we're looking to head out East for the first time If you have any suggestions, connections, or ideas for venues and festivals for us to look into, be sure to let us know! Matt is currently working on our 2009 tour schedule so feel free to send him an email with any suggestions at matt@sweetjaponicmusic.com.

Hey everyone, it's Lucas from Sweet Japonic. Let me start by saying Merry Christmas. It's been a whirlwind year for all, including us, and I'm excited to relax like many and eat until I can't stand up. But amongst the holiday cheer this year, there is a worrisome undercurrent that we are all aware off. It is no secret that the financial status of our country has left many pinching pennies, taking pay cuts and in the case of my family the possibility of losing one's home becomes an all to real scenario. After losing her job 3 years ago and a continuous battle with the State of Michigan my mother Nancy has soccumed to this all to real situation. Although she continues to win her battle's through the court process, the continuous fight has left in it's wake a financial burden that could result in the loss of her home. Sweet Japonic's goal is to bring as much joy and happiness to the people around us with the use of music. We are not just a band, we are a family. That is why in this time of need i ask for your help with my family. At the Billy's show on Dec 27th there will be an area for donations to help my family through our troubled time. Even if it is a very small amount, we would be eternally grateful. For larger donations I am willing to offer my services to your friends and family with an acoustic house concert at a future date. I have been truly blessed to be a part of Sweet Japonic, and I am continuously blessed to meet all that enjoy the music we create. If you have any questions or comments feel free to contact me at lwilsonmusic@gmail. Thank you very much and i look forward to seeing you on Saturday. Merry Christmas and God Bless Lucas Wilson
