we have a new singer for our slowdive show on saturday named ela unverdi. hopefully she will stay with us. it has been lonely to sing by myself since tracy left; it is nice to have a woman to harmonize with again. ela loves the same bands we do, like slowdive, talk talk, bedhead... and of course duh her voice is amazing. she is from austin which is also strange because that is where tracy moved to when she left timonium. austin is also where marta lives, and marta is one of our muses and oldest friends (we are old dudes, this is our 15th year together).

hmm what else. we haven't made much progress on our album this year, but we have finished almost all of our guitars. we have to finish guitars on maybe 2 or 3 songs (we've recorded 12 songs) and then we still have all the singing and bells and such.

so then if we finish that album there is still that lost album we never mixed that we need to also mix, hopefully with wade if he can do it. wade is also playing bass right now in timonium, since it is dubious that aaron will be able to return in the near future.

how strange we have pretty much the same lineup as we've always had, but then there are also so many new people in timonium, too. tim on keyboards since 2005... it's not like a revolving door, it's like a mutation of lineup. good mutation, like in the way that x-men heroes mutate.

this is a long overdue update: recording for the new album began in 2007, and is now continuing through the summer months. more good news...almost all of the band are back living in LA, so needless to say it has been much easier to be productive.

this will be our most ambitious record to date, as we have already spent countless hours experimenting with adding orchestral arrangements and voices to the songs. at this point, we are working with about 12 songs - the drums and bass tracks are mostly completed. i will try to post updates and photos as we move through the recording process.

lastly we want to say thank you to everyone for all the kind words and support!

adam g moved to phoenix. aaron moved to frisco. there are only 2 timonium boys in los angeles now. we are going to finish the new album with jim after he finishes his album. we will find a theremenist to complete our pram cover in los angeles (i don't know where). maybe we can tour then. we have the bass and drums down on tape now, soon we will have the choirs and other instruments completed. maybe by fall...

i had another blog on the label site but i heard it broke so i'm back to the mSpace.

Well the singing on the computer is going well. Aaron and I have arranged choir pieces for two songs now, about 6 or 7 more songs to go.

in the meanwhile we are recording a cover of pram's "chrysalis" over near the beach with our long-time producer marco paul. so we should finish some songs by christmas maybe.

aaron is coming over to my computer tomorrow night where we will try to plug some vocals into the demos we have made with nino. after some singing practice perhaps we will start recording our next album for real? aaron is moving to frisco in january so we don't have much time. we are two years late. not finishing an album is horrible because then you don't have anything to tour for. all of our friends from last tour, hopefully they have not grown up too much and gotten serious and forgotten about that lovable gang of musicians that slept on their floor in twothousandfive?

Current mood:  lonely
hi everyone this is the adam that is never on here. i am lonely: i never get to talk to you people, it is the mexican adam who is always talking and being friendly. well it's white adam now. i miss you, i wish i was talking to everyone but i barely even check my email, i never listen to my voicemail, and i never go to the world wide webs anymore. i only talk to people i see in real life these days-it seems. don't be sad for me, if i am down in the dumps it is my own fault for not http'ing it more often, keeping in touch.
