NEW ALBUM AVAILABLE 7/1

well, what's happened to stereoscope? quite a bit actually, a name change to THE ORCHARD THIEVES, new album SEASONS(working title 5/06), new website launch www.theorchardthieves.com (coming in the next couple weeks). yeah, that about sums it up.
the recording's done, finished, in the can. been mixing the last 2 weeks, and due to wrap on the 22nd, then off to chicago for mastering. what can i say, it's turned out to be a really exciting album. yeah, there were a coupla false starts and a lot of songs didn't make the cut, enough for another full length actually, but i think we've got quite a selection brewing. had some incredible guests lend their talents, the artwork is getting some final touch ups, and it'll be ready to go. sonically, it's kind of a trip. there's a little bit of everything, but most of all it sounds like, well, us. there's a few tunes that really capture the energy of early punk, a nod to nashville, psychedelic rock, motown, 4 on the floor dance rhythms, avante jazz, three penny opera drag, brit pop, and west coast 70's era fm. how's that for a description? thanks to everyone who's been waiting, putting up with all the delays. can't wait to share it with y'all.

it all started simple enough... cut an ep right? road test some of the new material to see how people respond. well, we're currently 25 tracks deep, editing for content, but it's on it's way and gonna be huge. look for contributions from members of the silent league, hopewell, and black mountain trio. set to wrap 7/1, then out to be mastered & duped. looks like early/mid august for a proper launch. watch this space.....

Stereoscope is in the pre-production for its debut album! The list of songs is being narrowed-down, but even in this early stage, things are sounding amazing.
