About Lil' Dude:
"Good things come in small packages…" - and even greater things come in a Lil' Dude. Born on October 1, in Detroit, Mich., this little guy lives, breathes and exudes the essence of true hip hop. Beginning his love affair with hip hop at the mere age of four, by six years old, Lil' Dude was leaving audiences amazed with his high energy performances at local venues, open mic nights, special school programs, non-profit events, music festivals and even weddings through out his home town of Milwaukee, Wis.
With a mission to maximize his talents and take advantage of bigger & better opportunities, Lil' Dude embarked on the opportunity to host his own Radio Show, Lil' Dude Presents: "Just Kidding" Radio, that would allow young people an arena to be heard!
Although he 's a "Lil' Dude ", with passion in his heart and a genuine twinkle in his eyes- Lil' Dude recognizes the importance of living life to the fullest and he understands his success grows with giving back to his community, doing his best in school, and staying active as a volunteer for through his newly formed non-profit MIKAH, Inc. (Mothers, Infants, and Kids Achieving Heights).
"All kids are at risk of something, including me who is being raised by a single parent. With my mom's help, I want to focus on addressing issues like peer pressure, foster care, violence, school achievement, drugs, abuse, etc. . . " says Lil' Dude .
At the age of nine, Lil' Dude and his family moved to Atlanta, Ga. Working as a hip hop and spoken word artist while pursuing his acting and modeling career, Lil' Dude quickly became acquainted with industry professionals as he landed a major voice over commercial with Hillshire Farms which airs on urban radio across America, primarily during "The Steve Harvey Morning Show". He's also appeared on the cover of Scholastic Magazine and appeared in Cartoon Network's "Cartoon Fridays." Currently, Lil' Dude will appear on BET's first scripted series, SOMEBODIES, which airs nationally beginning on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 10:30 p.m. ET. Lil' Dude will be playing a character named Brandon.
At such a young age , he's already performed for audiences of 18,000 including Summerfest, the world's largest music festival alongside Grammy-winning group, Arrested Development. He's also performed at The Russell Simmons Sponsored Pioneers Block Party for The Kids of the South Bronx Going Back To School held at the legendary MOORE HOUSES PARK. He also opened for legendary R&B diva Patti Labelle and Grammy Award winning, John Legend with a group of Atlanta's premier teen talents. He's currently a part of the KRS-One "Stop the Violence Movement" and public service announcement which can be heard at www.AllHipHop.com or on his myspace page.
Writing the majority of the songs, he also selected all the tracks and coming up with the entire concept for the Mix Tape CD Project. Lil' Dude reviewed music from producers in LA, Chicago, New York, Milwaukee, Detroit, Memphis, Texas, and Atlanta. There will be special appearances by artists from Milwaukee, Chicago, Stockbridge (GA), Ellenwood (GA), Atlanta, New Jersey and New York.
Currently, Lil' Dude is preparing to launch his upcoming tour, "Class In Session" where he will perform some of his hit songs from his Mix Tape CD, but most importantly speaking with young people about violence prevention and achieving heights in their lives.
In the midst of all his hard work, Lil' Dude still manages to be a kid through and through. A homeschooled, honor-roll student, he also plays sports at his local Boys and Girls Club of America.
As a testament to his destined greatness, Lil' Dude has already conquered many obstacles. At birth, he was 3 months premature and only weighed one pound. The doctors had predicted that he would be slow and unable to keep up with other kids his age, but look at him now, he's achieved heights that no one could've ever imagine!
