Happy Thanksgiving!

On this day 318 years ago, Pilgrims were celebrating their harvest taught to them by Abnaki indians in a three day celebration between the two groups.  There was dancing, drumming, indians showing their skills, pilgrims showing theirs.  This is not only a day to give thanks for who you love in your life, but also a day to mend or strengthen struggling ties.  So before you flick a spoonful of food on your big brother of bratty cousin, think about it, and just make sure everyone is in the mood for a food fight first.

Noctaluca is rediculously thankful to our loyal fans who sometimes brave snow storms, power outages, DUI checkpoints, long drives, and the occasional overly eccentric supporting act to give us the energy to do what we do.  It simply cannot be done without you. I know that sounds cliche, but it really is true.

We would also like to take a moment to thank those who have volunteered their time, money, blood, sweat, tears, trucks, cars, deodorant, food, advice, connections, and talent in order to get us where we are and beyond:

Mike goodwin
Venemous Valdez

AFTER you're logged in to your band's myspace account, click the link below (or copy and paste the code)

http://settings.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.changeprofile

and you can actually still click the "display music store" option. worked for me! myspace just deleted the link to that page, so unless you had the URL saved somehow you would have no way of getting to the page.

Now please listen to our music, come to our shows, and bring us some candy!

peas,
d bassist

ps - i posted this because it took me a year to find out how the hell to do this, and Snocap kinda sucks!

You download our music at Amazon MP3, iTunes or buy them from us:

part myspace, part stock market, part video game, thesixtyone.com has only been in existence for a few months and already it has more than quadrupeled in membership.  become a member and you can trade in the latest, newest music like a virtual, sonic stock market, except no money is involved, just points.

creating an account is easy.  not becoming a song-bumping addict is the hard part.

--> -->The Cincinnati Entertainment Awards (CEA's) has nominated Noctaluca for Best Live Act

We'd like to thank the acad....   wait, actually we'd just like to thank YOU, our blood-loyal fans, for conspiring with us to make our performances an event rather than just a gig.
There you are, swaying, swooning, headbanging, gyrating, and singing indiscernable groups of syllables in the spots where you don't really know the lyrics.  You encapsulate our energy and down it with some good liquor.  The result is always a toe-curling Noctaluca rockasm, and we thank you for that. [lights cigarette]

We need YOUR help to show the rest of the world that to put on a planet-shifting performance, a rock band doesnt need to:
- whip it out
-dangle strippers from bungy cords over the drummer's head
-handle our own urine in any way, shape, or form
-drink our own vomit
-break bottles over our head and write clever passages from Kerouac with our blood on the stage floor (not that there's anything wrong with that)

So give us your vote for Best Live Act by clicking here

(We wont mind if you spread your love freely in the other catagories)

The following is an email from a good friend of the band, Bruce Bennett.  Bruce has been following the band since its infancy three years ago.  Bruce, like many fans, has had an unwavering devotion to the music of Noctaluca, and we thank him for these inspiring words.

I was on the tailend of a 592 mile,10 hour drive from Petersburg, Virginia.
The journey began at 2:00 pm and it was now 11:38 pm as I passed the
Erlanger sign on 75. During the West Virginia mountains radio blackout and
the rock and roll void in middle Kentucky I had played a few cds, early
'Funkadelic', the best of the 'Dan Reed Network' which contains a beautiful
tune called 'Lover', and 'Towering the Sum'. I also played selected songs
from 'Pell Mell'; explaining to my friend who this kid named Jason was and
his relationship to a great band called Noctaluca. I told her that the band
had two psychotic madmen holding down the bottom on bass and drums, a sonic surfer on lead guitar and an angel on guitar and lead vocals. Just before I began to channel surf the radio, I caught one of the most beautiful rocks
ballads ever recorded on a station in Kentucky, 100.1 fm. I sang every
word, remembering them from the albums' first release my senior year in high school.
Zeppelin's 'Rain Song' is as beautiful today as it was over 30 years ago.
And I remembered my friend wrote a song on his album that had 'Rain Song' flavor. If I remember correctly, the song is called 'Wimp'. I pushed the
radio scan until I heard the type of rock groove I was looking for. 102.7
at 11:38 pm Sunday night was playing 'Many to Many'. Patting my friend on
her ass I shouted, "Wake up !!" My friend was groggy from 4 hours of
diligent driving duty through torrential monsoon type rain. "This is them!!", I said. 'The Rain Song' and now 'Many to Many' is not a coincidence for me. I've received messages from 'on high' before and I know how they come. Hopefully, this is the sign I've waited for. I've known it for 2 years. Noctaluca is what time it is.
