EP is coming.  We recorded it ourselves and then the world exploded for us.  A LOT of stuff happened and it was so weird for a while.  I have the EP on my hard drive in some form or another.  Some of you have it.  Hope you like it.  OFFICIALLY, we'll get it mixed up nicely and mastered properly and then it'll be coming out digitally somehow (itunes i imagine???) where you can then have it on your own personal hard-drive.

Just keep checking back.  No dates for this are set yet.  Thanks for being patient.  It's been an odd transition into the real world.  I feel like I was on the moon for 24 months and then came back to earth and tried to remember how to be an earthling again.  Also it was a happy/sad time for us and honestly the last thing i wanted to do was mix a far-less EP.  The break was nice but it's on its way.  I promise.

....indeed, we totally fucking did it.  In truth, we had only two full band rehearsals...in the same night.  Sure, various groups of far-less DID get together and practice, but as a whole ( and never with more than one drummer at a time) we had 2 practices.  WE pulled it off!  We managed to have 9 memebers and two drum kits all on one stage for a giant show. It was the most fun that I have ever had on stage.  Thank you to everyone who showed up and let us know that we were important to you.  You certainly are important to us.  Thank you to all of the far-less band memebers that showed up and shared the night.. and thanks to those who didn't, for being a part of it at some point.

There you have it.  We may do that again sometime. It was all fun and no pressure. Everyone is off to new things right now.  So visit here from time to time in order to get news or super awesome secret downloads as new songs are made by all of our members in their various groups.

Lastly,   thanks to all who supported out band.... but from the depths of my soul and the bottom of my heart... thank you to all the people that I have shared the stage with as FAR-LESS. What we accomplished and what we have been through...I will carry on for the rest of my life. Please, don't be strangers.

Love,
Brandon Welch

Current mood:  disappointed
We just got back to Radford from a run of dates that only reaffirmed our decision that putting Far-Less to rest is the right, and only thing to do.  I will spare you all of the details other than out of the five shows that were booked by an agency, three were cancelled.  We were left hanging in the northeast with no shows, no money and no morale.  I just want to assure the few of you who were planning on coming to any of the shows that were cancelled that Far-Less had nothing to do with any of it.  We tried our best to find anywhere we could to play when the shows were cancelled.

That being said, we will not be continuing our tour with abandon kansas.  We simply cannot trust that our needs will be met.  When a band leaves for a tour and contracts haven't been signed (although the agent assures you that they have) and venues are cancelling shows left and right, what are you supposed to do?  We want to encourage everyone to please go and watch abandon kansas and support them especially now that they are going at this alone.  They are a great band and wonderful guys and we wish them all the best.

I really haven't gotten to speak my mind about much and again, I won't go into details, but I do feel compelled to tell you all this.  Far-Less love each other, love the music we make together and love our fans and supporters from the bottom of our hearts.  The sad reality is however that our fans and supporters are just too few and far between for us to be able to continue this uphill battle as is.  We've always prided ourselves on doing something different however this isn't a musical society where much of anything aside from trendy bullshit is accepted.  Sure there are amazing, successful, original bands out there, but they are few and far between.  To say I am not jaded would be a lie.  To say that I am fond of this industry would be a lie as well.  But to say that I love making music for appreciative people and always want to continue to do so is about as much truth as I am capable of.  I know I speak for everyone in Far-Less when I say that.

So I am gonna leave you will a few things.  First off, if you ever loved this band; if our songs ever meant something to you in a real way and you can do it; come to our final show on August 14th in Greensboro, NC.  We are going to do everything we can to make it a night to remember.  Secondly, please support our new projects.  I am joining House of Fools and B Welch, Hackler and Tyler are going to be starting a new band like we've mentioned.  Hell, I am sure Brian will be making some ear candy too.  And lastly.  If you care about real music, do what you can to support it.  Bands are falling apart from the inside out because this industry does very little to support art and very much to support bankrolls.  People who care about music have to help or I am afraid many of the bands and artists that we all love are going to fall prey to the exact same thing that has happened to far-less.

I really hope this doesn't all sound too melodramatic....its just how I feel right now and I needed to get it off my chest.

Thank all of you who ever gave a damn about my band.  I love you.

Eight years is a long to time to be in any relationship, especially a
public one. Far-Less has had many ups and downs, even a break-up or
two, but we have made music that we are proud to call our own and had
a lot of fun doing it. This being said, Far-Less is going on an
indefinite hiatus following our summer plans. No doubt we will play
some shows down the road, but now is the time for us to think about
our futures and work on our other projects.

To say the group is getting out of the music scene would be a total
lie. We are, however, moving on to new things. Far-Less has been a
life changing experience, but remaining friends is the most important
thing to us right now and it is obvious to us that this is the best
course of action.

We will be releasing the Headache EP and will be touring this summer.
Here are our confirmed dates, with more to come soon.

06/04/09        Peabody's Pirates Cove (Cleveland, OH)
06/06/09        Eleanor Rigby's (Jermyn, PA)
06/07/09        Hangar 84 (Vineland, NJ)
06/08/09        Highline Ballroom (New York, NY)
06/09/09        IOTA Cafe (Arlington, VA)

Our final show will be on August 14th @ Greene Street in Greensboro, NC, featuring old band members and old songs.

Jordan Powers is filling in on bass for the House of Fools
(www.myspace.com/houseoffools). He and Brandon Welch will be working
on new material that is unrelated to Far-Less, not to mention the Jack
Devil's Band. Brandon Welch, Brandon Hackler, and Tyler Hill will be
working on a new project called Werewolves In Their Youth. Hackler
will continue his recording endeavors.

Thank yous are owed to the following people: Joseph Powers, Ray Felts,
Mark Karsten, Brian Freeman, Todd Turner, Bitsy Pina, Josh King, Jared

everyone else we have shared the stage with, everyone who took us in
and let us shower and sleep in your house, everyone that has our
records, everyone that has fed us, everyone that got us drunk, and
everyone that came to our shows. Not lastly, thank you to the people
who are still keeping up with us right now and the people who will
continue to support our future projects. Live long and prosper.

Our beautiful, technologically advanced myspace is gone. We're in between design schemes preparing for this New EP to come out (more about this in a sec). So for now you have to just deal with our simple, little, stripped-down guy we did on our own!

If you feel the need to access anything from the old myspace (contact, video, desktops, aim icons, whatever else) it is now located at www.myspace.com/farlessdontliveherenomore. Don't try to add it as a friend. It was bad and is in "time out" and doesnt' get to have any friends.

This IS OUR OFFICIAL MYSPACE. You are not mistaken.

ABOUT THE NEW EP.

We don't have a title. We do have finished versions of the songs on CD-R's in our cars, computers, home stereos, iPods, and anywhere else we can find a place to stick them. We are JAMMING them constantly to make sure everything is awesome. When it gets the FL seal of approval it goes out to the label and should be on itunes to download soon thereafter. We'll keep you posted and most likely hound you about getting the new EP so don't worry...it wont just POP UP out of no where one day without you knowing. It's the internet age. Nothing happens without 14 blogs, a twitter update, constant facebook status updates and sometimes a video on youtube about it. Just keep checking in.

We do, in fact, all belong down here.
